How To Message Friends

Why I Still Prefer New Leaf Over New Horizons (Animal Crossing)

Here are the ACNH messaging features. Orville will give you both the Best Friends App and the Chat Log app when you ask to play Online.

Whether you have island visitors or are visiting an island yourself, you can use the Chat Log app to send messages to everyone as long as you’re on the island together. It’s basically a giant group text but your message also appears as a speech bubble above your head.

When you’re by yourself you can still send messages but ONLY to your Best Friends using the Best Friends App. You can ONLY send these messages when the recipient is online. Be sure to enable the communication feature by opening the Best Friends List app and hitting the .

New Leaf – Welcome Amiibo

Single-player, multiplayer

Animal Crossing: New Leaf is a 2012 life simulationvideo game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 3DSconsole. In the game, the human character takes on the role of mayor in a town populated with anthropomorphic animals. As the fourth main title in the Animal Crossing series, it was released in Japan in November 2012, and in North America, Europe and Australia in June 2013.

While retaining gameplay from older titles, Animal Crossing: New Leaf marks a change in the series, as the player now becomes the mayor of the town. With the help of the townsfolk and a secretary it is now the player’s job to make the town a better place to live.

The game received critical acclaim, with many citing the improvements upon prior entries in the series. Although the title was re-released under the Nintendo Selects banner in North America and as Happy Price Selection in Japan, an updated version with Amiibo support was released for free on the Nintendo eShop in November 2016 for owners of the original version. A retail version of the update was released as Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Welcome Amiibo in late 2016.

Is Animal Crossing New Horizon As Bad And Incomplete As A Lot Of People Say It Is

How to Play Animal Crossing: New Leaf for the Nintendo 3DS

Kingpin Rogers said:Those tweets are almost certainly from people who have played it for 100’s of hours. I’m not much of an Animal Crossing fan but even if it’s lacking content compared to the other AC games it still has a lot to offer.

Bitanator said:OP this might be a case of you reading a small sample size of tweets and assigning them more weight based on your prior bias. I have 200 hours in the game, I have complaints, but I still really love playing for 30 minutes – 1 hour a day

Noog said:From Wild World to New Leaf, the games felt iterative. They added more, while keeping most of the features from the last game. New Horizons added a bunch of new stuff, but cut a significant amount of content from the old games. New Horizons is less of a weird life sim and more of a town/house designer. For a lot of people, the change is what they like, for some, like me, the cut content was a lot of what we liked about the prior games. The game itself is very good, and I put a lot of time in, but its not my favorite AC at all.

Where Have You Been All Of My Liiiiife

New Leaf is by far the best in the series. It combines the old and beloved features of previous games with a bunch of new cool things to explore. Unlike past ACs, you start as the mayor of your own town and are able to customize the look and feel more-so than in the older games. Every day, I get so excited to jump in the further advance my town. There’s always something to do, whether it’s unlock new shops, upgrade your home, collect bugs & fish for the museum, or design patterns and make your town look exactly how you want. I’ve only had the game for a couple weeks, but I’m already hooked. Animal Crossing: New Leaf is great for all ages and for both casual and hardcore players alike. It’s a fun game to wind-down on and has a ton of social features to play with friends.

How To Remove Someone From Your Island

If you’re over the idea of sharing an island, freedom is possible! But remember the person who named the Island i.e the Resident Rep cannot leave. But others totally can!

The person leaving the island needs to launch the game. When the home screen appears press the to access Settings. Then select save data settings. From here the person can remove themselves from the island. This will cause them, their money and items, their property, and even villagers memories of them to disappear completely.

Renting Museum Exhibit Rooms

Animal Crossing players rarely ever have enough space to show off their favorite items with only so many rooms available to decorate in your house. A great way that Animal Crossing: New Leaf allowed for even more decorating was through a set of custom Museum Exhibit Rooms rentable on the buildings second floor.

For a mere 10,000 Bells each, these 8×8 rooms can be fully decorated like any other room in your house and accessed by visitors of the Museum. Many players used these as an additional storage method, but you could use them for anything.

Worse: You’re Not The Mayor

This isn’t so much a;gameplay;problem;as an emotional one. In;New Leaf, the title of mayor is bestowed upon players as soon as they arrive in their new town, and all improvements made to the town are accordingly credited to the player.

In;New Horizons, the player is still the one doing all the work, and indeed contributing most of the Bells to new features like bridges and ramps. Only now, you’re just the Resident Representative and everyone acts like they’ve worked together to make any changes. It may be petty, but if the player puts in the effort, surely they deserve the credit.

Fun For All Ages Even Adults

I have been an Animal Crossing fan since I was 15. The first one I ever played was Animal Crossing: Wild World for the original Nintendo DS. I played that game every day over Christmas break when it first came out. And I enjoyed it for about 6 years after that. After my husband bought me a Nintendo 3DS for my birthday, my gaming tasted had changed. So I gave my old DS and Animal Crossing to my little brother. So even after all these years, it’s still being enjoyed. But when New Leaf was released, I just felt like I had to give it a try. Even though I was sure I was too old to get any kind of enjoyment out of it. I was wrong, in thinking that I was too old for it. Even though it is a little slow paced for me I still enjoyed it. It’s fun to play after work to wind down after a hard day. The tasks are simple but not so easy that it doesn’t make you do a little bit of work. The mini games are a blast, and I still have a lot more to unlock. I absolutely love it. I think I will be holding on to this one, even longer than I held on to the last one. But my favorite part? It’s fun for a 22 year old woman, like me, but I can also let my 5 year old niece play when she comes to visit. It’s fun for everyone! Even my husband has been wanting to play it! 🙂

What Animal Crossing: New Horizons Can Learn From Stardew Valley And New Leaf

Animal Crossing: New Horizons released in March 2020 and has since sold over 32 million copies, becoming the second best-selling game on the Nintendo Switch. As a long-time fan of the series, I was one of the masses frothing at the mouth as midnight hit on Mar. 20, 2020. The game was exactly what the world needed at the time.

However, over a year later, it’s sitting in many of our Switches way down the queue. Sure, new games have largely taken its place, but Animal Crossing has always been a go-to game for some wind-down time. Instead, many of us have picked up other games, like Stardew Valley.

Granted, sim games can run their course after some time, but the whole purpose of these games is to keep you engaged, or at the very least, have you hop in for a few minutes a day. One game we returned to frequently for years, way longer than I’ve ever played New Horizons, was its predecessor, Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Even now, we’re considering digging up my 3DS and starting another journey as mayor.

All of this game jumping has me wondering what New Horizons could do to bring players back and remain one of the best games on the Nintendo Switch. So, what exactly are the issues here, and where can New Horizons go? In our opinion, it should look to other sim titles for inspiration.

Years Of New Leaf: Eight Features We Want Back In Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Its hard to believe, but today marks eight years since Animal Crossing: New Leaf first launched on the Nintendo 3DS in North America all the way back on June 9th, 2013! Isnt that just incredible?

With over 12.93 million copies now sold worldwide, New Leaf was the most successful game in the series until Animal Crossing: New Horizons conducted a hostile takeover with record numbers. Its safe to say millions of current Animal Crossing fans were introduced to the series through New Leaf.

Animal Crossing World began its journey as a blog covering Animal Crossing 3DS as it was originally called, so this birthday always means a lot to us. To celebrate, lets go over eight of our favorite features from Animal Crossing: New Leaf that we wish to return in New Horizons someday.

Editors Note: Todays article is a republishing of last years 7 Years of New Leaf post, with an additional 8th feature added to celebrate the 8th birthday.

While theres plenty of major features that are missing in Animal Crossing: New Horizons wed like to see return, most of the main ones have been covered relentlessly already by others and apply to the series as a whole.

So in this article, were going to focus on features that were unique to Animal Crossing: New Leaf that we want back, including some smaller ones that have been forgotten by many or are unknown to some!

Worse: No Town Ordinances

Perhaps the most significant feature that didn’t survive outside of;New Leaf is the presence of town ordinances. As the mayor in;New Leaf, players can choose from a number of improvements that impact how the town functions. These include the;Night Owl and Early Bird ordinances, which allow shops to open later and earlier respectively, and the Bell Boom ordinance which makes items sell for 1.2x the regular amount.

The most missed one is probably the Beautiful Town ordinance, as this prevents weeds from growing at their usual rapid rate. While weeds are now a useful DIY tool, their growth can quickly get out of control. The option for ordinances has such an interesting and positive impact on;New Leaf‘s gameplay, and it’s sad to see it go.

Train Station Lockers In Other Towns

Forgot to bring an important item over during a visit to a friends town or an online trade? No problem the handy lockers at the Train Station can access your entire house storage of items!

Having your complete item storage available when visiting another players town is an incredibly helpful feature, and we really regret its removal from New Horizons. This was one of the first things I noticed personally when playing online at launch.

The lockers at another town could even be used to retrieve turnips from your storage in New Leaf, making multiple trips to ferry turnips back and forth far less necessary. Oddly, turnip storage is no longer possible in New Horizons though.

A Great Easy And Relaxing Game

This is not a game about winning or losing. It’s just nice relaxing enjoyment. I do enjoy my Donkey Kong and the Mario & Bro. games, but to just spend a little time gathering fruit, fishing or bug hunting. Going to Paradise Island for little more active fun . It’s fascinating to watch your “neighbors” with their lives. I look forward to the holidays to see what treat Isabelle has come up with. It’s just enjoyable and doesn’t cramp my hands.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf: How To Get Millions Of Bells In Minutes

Its a bit of a slower method but selling Infinite Fruit is a very lucrative way to earn millions of bells in your New Leaf game. Although it is a hacked item and was only available to earlier versions of the game, you can find the basket of Infinite Fruit in a giveaway town or another player.

  • Acquire a free unlimited basket of perfect infinite fruit.
  • Grab 1 fruit at a time and fill up your inventory. Keep doing this until your entire inventory is filled with the fruit in batches of 9.
  • Sell these fruits to Reese who will give you over 200,000 bells.
  • This method can be done unlimited times as long as you have the basket of Infinite Fruit.
