How To Swim Faster In Animal Crossing New Horizons
I love a good swim when the weathers right, dont you? Though I always preferred swimming in pools to the ocean; the water at the beaches near where I grew up was always puke green and full of seaweed Thankfully, the waters surrounding your island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons are crystal clear and ripe for exploring. Theres a lot of water to go through, though, so heres how to swim a little faster in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
The ability to swim in the ocean around your island was added to Animal Crossing: New Horizons in one of the summer updates. Getting in the water is as easy as just walking into it off the beach or jumping off a rock face or dock. Though before you can get in the water, youll need to purchase a wetsuit from Nooks Cranny. Once youre in the water, you may notice that moving around is a tad different from just walking around on the island. Which shouldnt really be that surprising, since thats how it is in real life.
What Can You Do While Swimming In Animal Crossing
You can catch sea creatures! While swimming about, keep an eye out for bubbles in the water and if you spot one, hit Y to dive and when you emerge, you should have something like a sea anemone to show off!
Alternatively, look for shadows after you dive, the camera view will change when you are under, and if you see one, swim towards it and whatever it is will then be yours!
Thats not all, either. Keep an eye out for a washed-up Gullivarrr , who will ask you to dive for his lost phone. Once youve found it by checking out bubble spots, hell be on his merry way though not without sending you some pretty cool pirate swag for helping him out.

Place Small Item Near Corner Cliff Edge
The fundamentals behind this glitch is that your character can climb up or down a cliff into this particular type of small item. Rather than being blocked from climbing as you would typically find with most items, youre able to climb right into it.
For this glitch to occur, the small item needs to be placed right up against the corner edge of a diagonal cliff piece either at the top of an elevated cliff or at the bottom next to one. You can see an example of each in the screenshot above.

How To Catch Rare Fish And The Highest Fish Prices In Animal Crossing: New Horizons Explained
As you might expect, the rarer the fish, the higher the price it will sell for in the shop making for a welcome money making opportunity.
But as implied, even if you know the correct time and place of where they will appear, finding these fish are difficult requiring a dose of luck to appear, then some skill in catching them, especially as rarer fish tend to be more skittish when biting the lure.
If youre after rarer fish, especially to sell, there are some rules to follow:
- If youre planning to make money, keep scanning the sea as its where most expensive larger fish can appear, so stick to the coast .
- If a fish has a fin, its likely to be a shark and is one of the few fish types you can spot ahead of catching.
- Though lures dont increase your chances, they will force a fish to appear in unusual locations, such as the pier saving you some effort in waiting.
- Though rain is unconfirmed to increase numbers or chances of certain types of fish, the infamous Coelacanth will only appear when it rains which can give you an extra incentive to get out to the coast when it does.
Its worth adding though some fish can sell for up to 15,000 Bells each, the chances of catching enough to make it worth prioritising over other make money opportunities such as finding Tarantulas and Butterflies is unlikely. As a result, see fishing as more of a completionist exercise than a lucrative one!
