What To Do On Day 6
Another freebie day. You should have another new villager in town, but outside of talking to them there wont be a lot of must-dos. Feel free to spend the day however you wish. Drowning in Nook Miles? Buy a ticket to a Nook Island, and maybe youll luck out with some fruit you dont already have.
Or you can spend the day fishing and collecting bugs to build up your stash of Bells. Its really up to you!
Nintendo Pocket Football Club
This might not be the most relevant game released on the Nintendo 3DS, but there is much to admire. The characters play as paper cutouts, which is similar to Paper Mario. Only in this game, the players are playing football. This lengthy simulation game may have had too cautious developers that left out too many features. In comparison to other football simulators, Nintendo Pocket Football Club fails to find its footing. It will take players approximately 68.5 hours to beat this game.
Weeks With Animal Crossing: New Horizons Reveals Many Frustrations
A new GamesBeat event is around the corner! Learn more about what comes next.
Ive had Animal Crossing: New Horizons for six weeks. Nintendo sent me a copy for review at the end of February, and Ive played it almost every day since then. I have more than 120 hours of playtime, according to my Switch Lite. Thats not as much as some, and thats actually one of the problems that Ive noticed since my review.
The issue isnt that I havent played as much as others but that I feel the need to make comparison in the first place. After the initial tutorial experience, which lasts approximately two weeks of daily play, New Horizons is devoid of explicit goals. Nintendo wants players to feel free to decide what to do. And while I havent put much time into achieving a 5-star rating for my island, I feel more and more like I should when I see others showing off theirs on Twitter.
When I wrote my review before the public release of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, I didnt realize just how much social media would change the way the game feels. Social channels were around in 2013, when Animal Crossing: New Leaf launched for 3DS. But they werent as ubiquitous. More important, it was significantly more challenging to post a screenshot from Nintendos dual-screen 3D portable than it is from the Switch.
Of course, that didnt stop me:

What Can I Do In The Game
Animal Crossing is a game in which you can decide on your own what you would like to achieve. You can focus on collecting furniture and designing the most beautiful interiors that you have dreamed of. Or you will devote all your time to collecting various species of fish and insects that can be donated to the Museum later. Nothing prevents you from playing as the gardener of the island and taking care of plants .
In practice you will do most of those things, one after another. However, the most important thing is that you don’t have to hurry anywhere. There is no rush. You can decide what you want to do, so if you enjoy taking care of flowers and planting them – then do it! Tom Nook and his quests can wait.
Variety Is The Spice Of Life
Another thing that makes this expansion super fun is the strange requests clients have. Yes, you’ll have simple clients that just want a quiet little place to read books or drink coffee, but then you’ll end up with some that want to make it rain with a swanky apartment space. I may or may not have created a Scarface-esque vacation home, laughing the entire time.
As I said earlier, if you get struck by the muse or unlock new items or ways to build, you can double back and offer a new design for any of your existing clients. But that’s not all. You can help Lottie develop the facilities surrounding the Happy Home Paradise offices too! Build a school, a cafe, and more. NPCs will use these facilities once you complete them, really bringing the island to life. There are 48 slots open, but there’s no telling how many homes you can design since you have the option of doubling up on properties.
Since there is so much variety, it never feels like a slog to design each home. And each new happy customer earns you some pretty great perks you can eventually take back to your own island. All the hard work is worth being able to put up partitions and play different ambient sounds. What’s more, you can put that “Happy Home” touch on your villager’s homes as well once you get through 30 jobs.

May Day Event Start Date & Time
The May Day Tour event for 2021 in Animal Crossing: New Horizons begins on April 29th, 2021 running until May 7th, 2021! In 2020, the May Day event ran from May 1st to May 7th, but is no longer available on Version 1.10 of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. You cannot time travel backwards to it.
Unlike some other recent holiday events in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the May Day event is not time-locked and can be immediately accessed in advance through time travel if you choose.
Collect Everything New Resources Appear Daily
One of the initial tasks in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is to pay back a loan for your tent and relocation. This is in Nook Miles a new form of currency that is effectively awarded to you for every action you perform on the island. Even picking weeds can help fill in the Starbucks reward card style Nook Miles sheets on your NookPhone, so you shouldnt have trouble earning them.
However, once you have paid back the first loan, you will need to repay a heftier one for your first house . And these later loans will need to be paid back in Bells rather than Nook Miles.
Thankfully, everything on the island has value and Timmy and Tommy Nook are more than happy to give you cold, hard cash for anything you bring to them. Doesnt matter what it is, theyll buy it.
The easy way to make cash quickly is note down the items they pay most for and seek those our more often. To be honest though, as they even buy weeds, pears and stuff that replenishes often, you will never find yourself without a means of income.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Is Different
The FOMO is not completely external to New Horizons. Vice Gamings Gita Jackson does a great job of explaining that here. Im not going to restate her, so go read that as well. But Ill add that Nintendo has made some subtle additions and tweaks to Animal Crossings formula that make New Horizons feel fundamentally different.
In my review, I noted that New Horizons supports longer play sessions than the early game in New Leaf. And this is generally a good thing. You can still fish, catch bugs, travel to an island for resources, and decorate your home. But now you can also collect crafting resources and DIY recipes, decorate outdoors, and complete achievement-style quests.
Or maybe you can try to get all the items during a timed event like some sad people:
In addition to just giving players more to do, New Horizons additional features also change the cadence of Animal Crossing.
In New Leaf, players were pretty limited in terms of options of how to progress. You could upgrade your home, add to your museum, design clothing, and interact with your villagers. New Leafs mechanics were simpler and I would even call them worse than New Horizons.
But because everything was equally devoid of intrinsic rewards, many players felt they had more freedom to choose their own path in New Leaf. New Horizons, meanwhile, can often make you feel like you could be doing something more efficient with your time.

Game Mechanics And Concepts
The developers made sure to make the game not only welcoming new players but to also retain core concepts from the previous games to keep older fans of the series happy. A crafting system was implemented to allow the player to keep the player from running out of things to do after the in-game stores close. She mentioned how the D.I.Y. crafting system would keep players in theme with the game by interacting and using the natural environment to their advantage. Kyogoku took note of players who began playing Animal Crossing games via mobile apps, such as Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, by implementing the Nook Miles feature which would show the player what kinds of activities and concepts they can achieve by rewarding them to do so. The Nook Miles system also rewards the player for doing common tasks and collecting materials that would sell for cheap to keep the player from only tediously searching out expensive materials. Furniture and clothing accessibility and customization were emphasized for multiplayer so players could show pride in their islands.
But New Horizons Has Real Frustrations
With New Horizons, Nintendo addressed hurdles that prevented some people from getting into Animal Crossing. And while a list of achievements like Nook Miles demystifies the game, Im willing to trade some of the illusion to get a more rewarding game overall.
My deeper frustrations with New Horizons dont stem from a comparison to New Leaf. Im still more hung up on the interface and multiplayer.
Before I get into this, Ill admit that I just spent a lot of words critically examining Nintendos decisions to streamline and modernize Animal Crossings mechanics. Now, Im going to beg the company to streamline and modernize its user experience. But Ill gladly declare myself a hypocrite to not have to go through four button presses and an animation to build one DIY recipe.
I get that Nintendo wants to make Animal Crossing feel conversational, and it should maintain that when it comes to the villagers and maybe even the shopkeepers and Tom Nook. But I dont want to have a conversation with my workbench or the airline.
Let me queue up recipes in my workbench and hook the bench into my homes storage. When I want to go online, I get that Nintendo wants me to go the airport. But then just give me all of the options in a single menu. Its baffling that if I choose the wrong option, I cant just go back one menu. I instead have to start the conversation over from the beginning.

Watch Out For Spiders And Wasps
One final tip for now is not everything on your island is cute and friendly. Shake too many trees and you might just loosen a wasps nest, leading to a nasty sting and a rush for medicine to make you better.
Also, you might be amused by tarantulas scuttling around at night, only to find them lunging for you and giving you a nasty shock.
Just make sure you have your net handy during a spider encounter thats the best tip we can give you.
And, thats about all for now. Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a superb game with so much depth that our handy hints above are only the tip of the iceberg there is still plenty for you to discover for yourself. Hopefully though, they will give you a guiding hand as you start the game. The rest is up to you.
Pitching Your Tent And Exploring Your Island
After a short in-flight movie, youll land on your new island and be ushered to its plaza. Here is where youll meet your neighbors your island starts with two and Tom Nook, the islands fearless leader.
As you walk to the plaza, pay attention to the flowers and sticks scattered in the grass. You wont be able to pick them up yet, but theyll soon become important.
Tom Nook will welcome you to the island before telling you to pick a spot to set up your tent. You can get a tent from either Timmy or Tommy.
Your tent will be your base of operations for a good while its where youll start the game when you turn it on and likely store your stuff so this is an important decision.
However, youll soon find that you dont have much space to choose from. Your starting area is walled off by impassable rivers, meaning that at least half of your island is unavailable. With this in mind, pick a spot thats close to the island plaza youll be spending a lot of time there, so you might as well make your journey short.
Remember that placing your tent over a tree or rock will destroy that resource. Rocks will reappear somewhere else on the island in a few days, and trees will disappear unless you replant them later. When setting your tent, you can imagine what itll look like before you make your decision, which is a great way to see what resources will be displaced.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Genre: Life simHow long is it? It never, ever ends
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the latest big Switch exclusive. Continuing a long line of life sim-style games going back to the N64 era, in each game you move to a new town, settle down and pay off your mortgage. In this particular entry, you’ve just flown to an island to start your new life. You can collect bugs, interact with the cheery animals who move in, and redecorate your home and its surroundings in the way you see fit.
There’s no strict way to complete Animal Crossing, which makes it the perfect game to play over the next few months. You’re supposed to enjoy it for 30 minutes or an hour a day , selling fruit and digging up fossils each day.
It’s a nice, relaxing bit of escapism with a colorful cast of characters, and Nintendo is running seasonal events in-game over the coming year to keep you occupied. And don’t get us started on the turbulent turnip market.
How Long Does It Take To Beat Subnautica
The moment-to-moment gameplay in Subnautica takes place at a more leisurely pace than your typical open-world game. As such, you’ll be spending considerable amounts of time just getting from point A to point B. There are scenarios where you’d encounter hostile creatures, and while combat is an option, you’d be better served by taking a stealthy approach with enemy encounters, which further increases the expected playtime.
But for the most part, the world itself and how best to traverse it provides the greatest challenge in the game. It is a challenge that can be surmounted, assuming you abide by the game’s many rules, which should take most players around 29 hours on average, according to HowLongToBeat.com. Of course, you should expect to spend way longer than that if you intend to do more than just tackle the main objectives.

How To Get An In
If you’re one of the few players who purchased a special Animal Crossing Nintendo Switch, you’ll receive this message in the mail along with a present:
” Dear __, Thanks for using the specially colored Joy-Con controllers released in association with Animal Crossing: New Horizons. To show our appreciation, we’re sending you this gift. We hope you enjoy it! – From Nintendo”
The model Animal Crossing: Nintendo Switch can be purchased, but it’ll only show up randomly priced at 35,960 bells.
A way to get around this steep price is to connect the specially colored Joy-Con to your system and play ACNH with it. It’s not the easiest workaround, but if you know a friend or family member with a system, see if you can borrow them for a moment to save 35K Bells.
