Connect The Amiibo Card
Have your amiibo card ready in your hand and choose the Invite Camper option at the kiosk in Resident Services. Read through the prompts and select Continue when you are ready.
When prompted, hold the amiibo card slightly above your right joy-con controller. This takes only a matter of seconds to register with the Nintendo Switch.
The kiosk will then verify the amiibo card villagers name and ask you once again if youd like to invite the villager to your islands campsite. Select Yes! to continue. Your screen will flash white, and the amiibo card character will appear on your screen. This is where you can choose to invite them to your campsite.
Once theyve accepted their invitation, the amiibo character will immediately appear at your islands campsite, unless theres already a visitor present. If a random visitor is already present at the campsite, then the amiibo character will appear at your campsite the next day.
Upgrade Your Gaming Experience With Animal Crossing Amiibo Cards
Nintendo’s beloved Animal Crossing series has gained online capabilities in its most recent iterations. New multiplayer and interactive online functions have unlocked new options for gameplay and increased the ability to customize. The game’s open-ended, interactive play with other villagers, called dreamies, can be upgraded through the purchase of an amiibo card.
What does an amiibo card do?
In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you can customize your own island and invite a number of new villagers to live there. Gaining rare dreamies can help you upgrade your island to five stars and unlock new functionality along the way. An Animal Crossing amiibo card allows you to download the villagers that are included in pack via the internet to achieve the following main functions:
- Conduct photo shoots on Harv’s Island with amiibo dreamies.
- Invite amiibo characters to your island’s campsite, the first step to asking them to move to your village.
Why purchase an amiibo card?
Animal Crossing fans should consider purchasing amiibo cards for several reasons. First, amiibo cards allow you to call rare dreamies to your island at your leisure. Many rare dreamies, like Digby and Isabelle, won’t turn up at the campsite. An amiibo will allow you to call them to your island and improve the customization of your own little paradise. There are more than 400 amiibo cards that you can choose from, which will ensure that you are able to invite your favorite villager to your town.
Animal Crossing Amiibo List
Lets look at exactly whats out there before we get started. In total, there are 16 different Animal Crossing amiibo that have been released so far. Additionally, there are two Super Smash Bros. variants for The Villager and Isabelle as well as a couple of special release bundles that contain more than one amiibo. The latter can offer some great value if youre looking to buy more than one Animal Crossing amiibo at a time.
You can find them all listed below. Remember, prices and stock will fluctuate frequently, but well do our best to keep this list as current as possible.
Are You My Mummy: Lucky

Whether you love the look of his mummy-like appearance or you simply feel sorry for him, Lucky holds a special place in players’ hearts.

Apollo: Amiibo Series 3 Card 297
Apollo is a cool Eagle. He may be cranky but we still want him on our island. The bald eagle not only looks magnificent but he also has a super stylish home and a lot of personality, even if it is somewhat hostile at times.
While not always being the easiest to get along with hes the perfect patriotic addition to any island. His birthday is on July 4th, hes the USs national bird and hes named after a Greek God.

Animal Crossing Season 5 Amiibo Cards Coming This November
Fans of the popular town builder/turnip-based capitalism simulator Animal Crossing will be excited to learn that Season 5 amiibo cards will be coming in November. There will be 48 new cards in total and they will feature some of the newer characters found in the New Horizons game that kept us all company during the darkest days of 2020 and 2021. The cards work very much like your standard amiibo figurines, except theyre cards and not figurines. Tapping them on the sweet spot on your Switch will allow you to summon the character to your town, which will save you the hassle of traveling to a bunch of islands over and over again until you finally find someone good.
While the 48 total cards are half of what previous seasons offered season 4 had 100 characters, for example there have been some favorites that have yet to grace the face of an amiibo card. While we dont have a complete list quite yet, heres who we know will be included:

How To Invite A Sanrio Villager To Your Island In Animal Crossing: New Horizons
If you want to invite a Sanrio villager to live on your island in New Horizons, then you need to follow the same steps as when you use a regular Animal Crossing Amiibo Card to invite a villager to your island.
First, choose your card and then, in-game, visit the Nook Stop in Residential Services.
Here youll be able to scan your chosen Sanrio villager card by using the Invite Amiibo Camper option. This villager will then appear at your campsite and, like with a regular villager, theyll ask for furniture, which, when given to them, will eventually unlock the option to add them to your island community.
Thankfully the Sanrio Amiibo Cards which were originally released for Animal Crossing: New Leaf on the Nintendo 3DS are compatible with New Horizons.

Convincing The Amiibo Visitor To Move To Your Island
Asking the amiibo character to visit your island once wont convince them to move. Instead, you must invite them to the campsite several times and complete numerous DIY recipe requests in order to finally convince them to move in.
The visitor will ask for several DIY recipes, which is great because you can potentially add more DIY recipes to your collection! If they request a DIY recipe that you dont have unlocked, dont fretthey will give you the recipe for free.
You have until the next morning to give the visitor the DIY recipe theyve requested. After youve made the DIY recipe, return to the campsite and hand it over.
The visitor will thank and reward you with a gift. If you talk to them more, you might be able to ask them to move in. However, they will not accept an invitation to your island unless youve invited them to the campsite several timesthis could take anywhere between two and three days.
The amiibo character will leave the next morning, but you can invite them back as many times as you like. After a few days of inviting the amiibo character to your website and fulfilling their crafting requests, they will be ready to speak to Resident Services.
Once theyve accepted your invitation, the amiibo character will move to your island. If you have open land available, they will begin moving the very next day. However, if your island is full, you can choose which resident on your island youd like to replace the amiibo character with.
