Streams Covers And Books
Bookworms are everywhere, including the world of Animal Crossing.
Therefore, it is worth building this model for your quietest inhabitants of the earth.
Since the elements used for this little library are all customizable, this stream design can fit any island theme.
You can make any pattern to lay out as a picnic quilt, and you can even use matching colors to make a pompom pattern at the ends of the quilt.
And of course, you cant have a library without books. So take your favorite book-related items, like a small bookcase and a stack of books, and put them everywhere.
The combination of a flowing river, a field of flowers and candlelight makes this reading nook just cozy.

After youve completed this, head inside and talk to Nook about the infrastructure of the island. Hell give you some different options for bridges though they do not come cheap.

Catch 5 Unique Bugs Or Fish And Give Them To Tom Nook
Before this ,you will need to have your Nook phone and you will also need to have completed Toms DIY workshop, where you will learn how to make a flimsy fishing rod and flimsy net.
Although the workshop is fun, all these things Tom Nook invites you to do have an ulterior motive. Not in a sinister sense, but in terms of laying out the groundwork for other tasks that will need to be completed to advance in the game.
So learning the DIY recipe for the flimsy fishing rod and net help you on your way to catching the fauna which Tom expresses interest in.
Once you have your Nook phone and fishing rod, you will have the correct set of tools to head out and catch those critters!
They can be all fish, all bugs or a combination of the two. The only stipulation is they must all be different.
You will then need to speak to Tom Nook in the resident services tentwhere a new option will appear: I found a creature.
You can hand Tom your findings individually or wait until you have all 5 before heading over to the resident services tent. Given the limited pocket space that you have initially, you may wish to do this one at a time.
Once you have delivered your 5 items, Tom will then ask if he can send them to his old friend.
This is where you first find out about Blathers, the feathered museum curator who is keen to open up a museum on your island.
When you accept his offer, Tom will get a call from Blathers, who will need somewhere to stay for his visit.

Go Speak To Blathers In His Tent
When the next day eventually rolls around, make sure to make a beeline for Blathers. Hell be in his tent, and itll quickly emerge that he needs your help to gather enough exhibits to secure permission to open the museum. He needs more bugs, more fish and some fossils in order to get permission. But, it turns out the fossils he thinks exist on your island lie across the river.
Thankfully, he recognises that anywhere over the river is currently a no-go zone, and quickly transfers recipes for the vaulting pole, and the flimsy Animal Crossing: New Horizons shovel, to your NookPhone. Hurrah!
All thats left to do then is go and craft your vault pole and shovel. Youll need five pieces of softwood in order to craft it, so go hit some trees with your flimsy axe if you havent got enough.
How To Craft The Vaulting Pole In Animal Crossing New Horizons
You need to give Tom Nook some fish and bugs to eventually craft the vaulting pole in Animal Crossing New Horizons.
Giving fish and bugs to Tom Nook will result in Blather coming to your Animal Crossing New Horizons island, and thisll result in you then being able to craft the vaulting pole.
Blather will only arrive on your island the very next day after youve placed down his tent for construction. So, to pass the time, you can either complete objectives to get Nook Miles or you can instead time travel to the next day so you dont need to wait in real-time.
Either way, once Blather has arrived on your deserted island, youll want to immediately enter his tent to begin a chit-chat.
Blather will tell you that he requires 15 donations of bugs, fish and fossils to open a museum, and thisll result in the owl sending you the DIY recipe for the vaulting pole so you can explore the other lands of your resort.
You only need five pieces of soft wood to craft the vaulting pole, so it shouldnt take you any time at all to construct it.

The Vaulting Pole Item In Animal Crossing New Horizons
In order to unlock the Vaulting Pole item, the player must first bring along Blathers on to their tropical island. Blathers is in charge of the Museum on the island, a location where the player can display the bugs and fish they collect while on the island. Blathers will provide the player with the Vaulting Pole item and the Shovel so they can go around and collect more bugs and fish to put on display on the planned museum opening. To bring Blathers onto the island, the player must go around the island and collect fish and bug and return them to Tom Nook. Tom Nook will then send every specimen the player provides to him to Blathers. One important thing to mention is the specimens given to Tom Nook must be unique bugs or fish. Providing Tom Nook with the same fish or bug will not trigger this event.

How to Cross Rivers
To cross a river in New Horizons, youll need to build a Vaulting Pole. To craft a Vaulting Pole, youll need to acquire the recipe from a certain famous owl.
Early in the game, youll be asked to put down a tent for Blathers, whos interested in the local fauna. The day after youve set-up Blathers tent, the owl museum curator will move to your island.
Speak to Blathers as soon as you can as they give you the crafting recipe for a Vaulting Pole and the all-important Flimsy Shovel.
Once you visit a crafting station, youll learn that you need five pieces of softwood to craft the Vaulting Pole. To get these, youll need to chop trees with your Axe . Doing so will produce one of three types of wood, with the lightest in color being the softwood.
With your Vaulting Pole in hand, all you have to do is approach the bank of a river, move in the direction that you want to vault, and then press A to cross rivers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Can The Vaulting Pole Break
One thing to note about the vaulting pole is that it cannot break. This is likely so that you aren’t left stranded on the wrong side of a river. You will therefore only need to craft it once.
How To Use The Cliff
First things first, youll need to buy the cliff-construction permit for 6,000 miles from the Nookstop. To access it, youll then need to start up construction through the island designer app. Then, press + to open up the construction menu, at the bottom of the path designs, there is an option to select the Cliff-Construction Permit.
There are a few restrictions to where you can add or remove cliffs and higher levels. Firstly, you cannot place cliffs within one tile of a tree. To place a higher tier of cliff, you must have one tile between the other cliff edge, meaning you cannot have cliffs higher than 1 level tall. You can place a 3rd level of cliffs but your character wont be able to climb to it, therefore it will be a purely aesthetic cliff. You can have absolutely no cliffs or higher levels if you wish, however certain fish spawn only spawn on higher levels so you will likely want at least one raised area with a body of water on it.
Other than those restrictions, you can build cliffs wherever you like. That being said, you can only create and destroy cliffs from the lower level, you cant add or take away land on the same level as you. You can add a block of land by pressing A. If you want to remove some cliff, youll need to walk right up to the block you want to destroy and click A. Like rivers, you can soften harsh edges by pressing A.
You can create new cliff edges , and then soften them by using the tool again.
How To Unlock The Ladder
To get the Ladder, you must progress through Tom Nooks tasks of paying off your tent payment and building your home, building Nooks Cranny, and then a bridge to start work on the three villager homes that need furnishing.
After placing the lots down, Tom Nook will inform you that one recipe will require use of the flowers atop the islands peaks, and will give you the recipe to make a Ladder. The Ladder is a tool that will allow you to climb or lower yourself to different elevations on the island without having to use a ramp or incline. Thankfully, just like the Vaulting Pole it wont break!

Animal Crossing: New Horizons How To Get The Vaulting Pole
Like other craftable items in New Horizons, youll need the recipe before you can actually make a Vaulting Pole. To get this, youll need to speak to Blathers, who wont appear until you kick off the process of building the islands Museum.
Once the museum is constructed, speak to Blathers and he will give you the Vaulting Pole recipe the reason being that he wants you to collect fossils for his collection.
With the Vaulting Pole recipe in hand, you can now go about actually making one. To do this, you need to collect 5 pieces of softwood from around the island.
Once youve collected all of that, visit a crafting bench and youll have the option of making a Vaulting Pole of your very own. Congratulations! You can now cross rivers with ease, and in style!
How To Get Across The River
Getting across the river isn’t too hard, you just need the right tool for the job! The tool required is the Vaulting Pole, which can be obtained on the second full day on the island! First, you are going to want to run through the basic tutorial of the game. This is pretty much an hour or so of playing through the game and following orders. Once you’ve free and on your own, you will want to get yourself at the very least a Bug Net or a Fishing Pole. These are pretty easy to get, just grab some branches off the ground and then craft them at the crafting table. You can find this in the green tent that houses Tom Nook.
Now, you need to catch five different bugs or fish! It doesn’t matter which of these you find, but they have to be five unique ones. So, catching a mix of both bugs and fish will likely be easier! If it’s night time, I found that fish were a lot easier. Bugs are harder to find, but there’s usually a Moth flying around outside of Nook’s tent. Be careful for the spiders though, they will lunge at you if you’re not careful! Once you have your five unique items, you need to bring them back to the green tent and hand them off to Tom Nook!
