In Animal Crossing: New Horizonsedit In the Animal Crossing: New Horizons storyline, the players island is overseen by Nook Inc. and Resident Services staff rather than having a traditional civic government. Therefore the position of mayor does not exist, and Tom Nook presides over most island ceremonies.

Once you’ve cleared your first tutorial day on the island an go to sleep, the game will save, and you’ll be locked in. After that, you cannot delete your island through any options in the game. You are able to remove other player accounts from your island from the title screen menu

Issue:My friends and I want to make a town in Animal Crossing New Leaf and share it. Basically, one of us messes around in it for a day, then gives the save data to the next person to see the changes the others made and also make changes, pass it to the next person, etc. We did it in the past with the Gamecube version by just sending over Dolphins memory card file, and we want to give New Leaf a whirl this time.

Given my friends success, its definitely possible to transfer save data just fine, but I have no idea what Im doing wrong. Any ideas?

Alright, Im not too sure WHAT happened, but I got it working. Based on what bio3c said, I peeped the extdata folder and couldnt find anything relating to New Leaf saves or anything in it, so I just assumed I had to make a new town so it could create the folder for the save data. So I made a new town , saved, checked extdata, and nothing changed.

Wow, what a thrilling mystery with a satisfying solution, huh? But for real, on one hand it was a pretty stupid mistake I made in hindsight. But on the other hand, bio3cs reply spurred me to find the solution, so thanks!

Before we get started, you should know that deleting Save Data is irreversible, once its gone, theres no getting it back. If youd like to continue, the first thing youre going to want to do is head to the Nintendo Switch Home Screen. From the bottom of the screen, select System Settings, the button shown below.

do not do weird things with the acre editor: try to keep a valid acre structure
keep at least two rocks: move them using the map editor if you need it
keep enough free space for buildings in the town plaza acre: the game will freeze whenever special visitors try to put their tents there and there is not enough space
be careful when moving any building: you can adjust building placements with the editor, but don’t do weird things like placing houses in the water
