How To Get A Ladder

To get the Ladder, you must progress through Tom Nooks tasks of paying off your tent payment and building your home, building Nooks Cranny, and then a bridge to start work on the three villager homes that need furnishing.

After placing the lots down, Tom Nook will inform you that one recipe will require use of the flowers atop the islands peaks, and will give you the recipe to make a Ladder.

The Ladder is a tool that will allow you to climb or lower yourself to different elevations on the island without having to use a ramp or incline. Thankfully, just like the Vaulting Pole – it wont break!

How to get a Ladder D.I.Y. Recipe in Animal Crossing New Horizons

This depends on how quickly you are able to progress through the game, you may need a little help from friends to speed up the process.

Waiting to be given the recipe by Tom Nook does depend on your ability to get the required materials quickly, to build Nooks Cranny etc.

It can be tricky to get some of the materials promptly, this is because you need 30 iron nuggets which are mined by hitting rocks with a shovel.

Your rocks can spit out iron nuggets, but it is unlikely that they will provide you with enough initially. You will need to mine your rocks daily. You can also double your chances by visiting Nook islands and hitting rocks there too.

You could get a ladder very early on, if you are given one by a friend as mentioned previously.

How To Get The Vaulting Pole To Cross Rivers

In order to cross the rivers on your deserted island and explore the other side, youll need to get your hands on the important Vaulting Pole tool item.

Unlocking the Vaulting Pole requires you to first make it to at least your second full day on the island with Blatherss Tent fully built and open ready to accept donations. In order to build Blatherss Tent, you first need to donate five bugs or fish to Tom Nook at Resident service and place the location for Blatherss Tent.

After placing the location for Blatherss Tent, the construction will be completed the next morning. When the day begins, head over inside of his tent to speak with Blathers and he will discuss with you his interest in finding fossils on the island.

In order to get to the fossils on the island though, youll need to be able to cross the river to find the dig spots, which of course requires the Vaulting Pole tool! Therefore Blathers will transfer both the Vaulting Pole crafting recipe and the Flimsy Shovel crafting recipe to your NookPhone.

How to Craft the Vaulting Pole

Youll need to gather five Softwood crafting materials to craft the Vaulting Pole tool item. Those can be gathered by hitting a tree with either the Flimsy Axe or Stone Axe, but only once per day. If you dont find enough Softwood from one tree, try another as the type of wood that drops is random.

Have A Friend Give One To You

Arguably, a quicker way to getting your hands on a ladder in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, is having one of your buddies give you one.

Invite New Villagers To Your Island

As soon as you begin your island life, you’re going to want to start earning Nook Miles. These are just rewards given to you for completing specific tasks, whether that be catching a certain number of bugs, bagging a certain amount of fish, or even making a certain amount of money. Once you have 2,000 Nook Miles, head to Tom Nook’s green Resident Services tent and approach the green kiosk on the right side.

Here, you’ll need to access Nook Miles Rewards and purchase a Nook Miles Ticket for 2,000 Nook Miles. Now it’s time to head to the airport. Note that the airport isn’t available on your first day of playing the game. Talk to Orville behind the counter and let him know that you want to visit other islands using your Nook Miles Ticket.

Upon flying to another island, run around until you discover an animal NPC wandering about. Talk to them a couple of times until you get the opportunity to invite them to your island. You’ll need to visit three different islands and invite three different NPCs to your island to complete this portion.

While you’re on these islands, gather all the resources you can, especially the wood you get from hitting trees with your ax and the stone, clay, and iron you get from hitting rocks with an ax or shovel. You’re going to need it soon! Since you can never return to the same island, you don’t have to worry about cutting down trees or breaking rocks so pillage to your heart’s content.

How To Get The Ladder As Fast As Possible In Animal Crossing

Though you could technically get the Ladder in a couple of days, there are a lot of materials to farm to get there. If you want it as soon as your second day, there is a way – and that’s with the help of friends in multiplayer.

Simply put – once you have a friend who has unlocked a Ladder, they can craft one and post it to you provided you are Best Friends. As soon as you get the Ladder, it’s possible Nook Cranny can stock a DIY recipe for it also – which you can post to them, or have you come round to purchase yourself.

There is technically nothing ‘game-breaking’ about having the Ladder early – so if you’re keen to have it as soon as possible, there’s no reason not to. And a benefit of doing so is having access to different types of Fish, Insects, and more rocks and fossils to mine.

If you’re playing in the month of launch, it’s worth noting there is a type of Fish disappearing at the end of the month only found in the pool at the top of the cliffs – in case you needed another incentive to get a move on.

Prepare Plots For Your Incoming New Residents

For these new island dwellers, Tom Nook promised fully kitted out homes – inside and out – so to achieve this goal you have to craft six items of furniture for each new household. Thankfully, Mr. Nook will give you a selection of new recipes that will help you furnish each of the new homes. Interestingly, one of the items you’ll need to craft requires flowers you won’t have come across yet, flowers that just happen to reside on the higher levels of your island. If only you had a ladder.

So first, place all three plots for your new residents and then you’ll receive a phonecall from Tom Nook. He’ll explain the flower access issue, and finally give you a recipe for the ladder.

Then it’s just a case of heading over to Residents’ Services and crafting one. You’ll only need four wood, four hardwood and four softwood in order to make it.

How Do You Get A Ladder On Animal Crossing There Are A Couple Ways

How to Get the LADDER in Animal Crossing New Horizons!

The conventional way to get a ladder isnt easy. The first step it to pay off your first loan with Tom Nook, the general store manager and possible grifter who lured you to this desert isle in the first place and exploited your labor and good nature to develop it. But Toms not done milking you yet. You must also complete Nooks Cranny, the expansion of his pop-up-tent store.

To do that, you need to gather 30 pieces each of softwood, regular wood, hardwood, and iron nuggets, the latter of which is the hardest to amass. Once thats done and the store construction is complete, youll get word that some new villagers are moving in, which is great news because, by now, youre probably super sick of the two who founded the island with you. Youll first have to build a bridge out of clay, stone, and log stakes .

Tom then asks you to find plots of land for the new residents, and this is finally when youll get the DIY recipe to make a ladder. It comprises four each of hardwood, regular wood, and softwood.

If that all seems like a lot of time and work, youre not wrong. But there is a way around it

How To Get The Ladder Recipe

You won’t be able to build a ladder until you get the DIY recipe from Tom Nook. This occurs after you’ve invited three characters to your island to live there. You can read more on inviting new islanders here. Once all three have been invited you’ll be asked to build three houses along with furnishings. One of the items you need to make is a wreath, meaning you’ll need to reach the flowers growing up on the cliff edges. Tom Nook will send you a recipe for a ladder at this point.

Return to Tom Nook at Resident Services, talk to him and he’ll give you three housing kits to place around the island which plot out space for your three new residents. You’ll have to craft furniture for the lazy animals before they move in, too, but you’ll find the ladder recipe in the list of items Nook sends to your phone.

After finding space for the second plot Nook will ring and remind you of the ladder recipe, so you can’t miss it.

Invite Villagers To Your Island

Unlocking the ladder will take at least three days, but it all begins by inviting a new villager to your island. Using a Nook Miles Ticket, head over to Dodo Airlines and book a flight to a new island. Once at your destination, youll find another villager wandering the shores. After talking with them a few times, youll have the option to invite them back to your town. Even if you dont want that particular villager as a permanent resident, wed recommend inviting them to live with you anyway youll need them to start the process of unlocking the ladder. Plus, you can always evict them later.
