The Roost And Brewster Return

The 2.0 update will bring back Brewster’s Cafe, also known as The Roost. Brewster is a non-playable pigeon character first introduced in Animal Crossing: Wild World. In New Horizons you’ll be able to invite villagers and NPCs using the amiibo Call Center, enjoy a cup of coffee solo and visit with NPCs and villagers like Isabelle when they visit the cafe, toowhich will be open 24/7.

The Roost will be located in the museum, and although gyroids are returning the game, it’s not clear if Brewster will store them as he did in previous versions of Animal Crossing.

Nine brand new villagers and seven returning villagers were revealed as part of the Animal Crossing Amiibo Card Series 5 announcement, which took place during the Animal Crossing Direct on 15, 2021.

The following new villagers were shown off:

  • Ione
  • Roswell
  • Faith

We didn’t spot any other new villagers in the direct, but there’s a chance Nintendo didn’t show other new villagers coming to ACNH.

To learn more about each of the brand new villagers, be sure to visit our list of All New Villagers in New Horizons.

Playing The Stalk Market

  • 1Buy turnips from Joan on Sunday morning. Joan is a brown boar, and can be found wandering around the town from 6 AM to noon on Sundays. You can buy turnips from her for between 90 – 110 Bells. You can then sell these turnips at some point during the week to make a profit. The turnips will spoil at 6 AM on the next Sunday.
  • It is possible that you won’t be able to get a price for the turnips that makes up the cost of you buying them.
  • 2Store your turnips. Storing your turnips will allow you to easily access them in other players’ towns, which is the best way to make a big profit on them. Just make sure you don’t forget about them.
  • 3Check the buying price of turnips in your town throughout the week. Talk to Reese at Re-Tail to find out what the Turnip buying price is. This price will change every morning and at noon, so make sure to check twice daily.
  • 4Visit friends’ towns to see their turnip prices. The best way to make money on turnips is to try selling them in your friends’ towns. This is because every town has a locked price pattern for the week, and access to other towns increases your chances of finding a good pattern.
  • 5Know when to sell. You want to sell your turnips when the prices are at the highest, netting the greatest return on your investment. There are four different patterns that the pricing of turnips in your town may take for the week:XResearch source

Animal Crossing: New Leaf is the sixth installment in the Animal Crossing series, released for Nintendo 3DS. Originally shown off at E3 2010, the game was released in 2012 in Japan, and 2013 for the rest of the world.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf was also released in a bundle with a specially-designed Nintendo 3DS XL system, which includes a copy of the game pre-installed on the system.

How To Get Gyroids In Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Gyroids work slightly differently in New Horizons. Whereas players dig up a complete one after a rainy or snowy day in the Gamecube game or New Leaf, the Direct outlines a system that is similar to gardening. Gyroids are now found in fragments buried on the island, and once they are dug up, bury it and water it with a watering can. The next day, dig up the fragment and it will have turned into a fully-grown random Gyroid, ready to be placed, customized, and activated.

Once grown, New Horizons 2.0 Update Direct states that more will be found similar to how they were found in New Leaf. If it rains on the island, the next day some of the buried items might be full Gyroids instead of fragments. Whether or not Gyroids will be sold at Nooks Cranny or be attainable through Nook Miles has not been confirmed yet, but the addition of Brewster may signal more ways to obtain them than just growing them, like in the 3DS game.

Next Animal Crossing Update Rumored To Involve Nook’s Cranny

There have been two upgrades to Nook’s Cranny since New Horizons released, but not in the same way. It begins as Resident Services, then is unlocked as Nook’s Cranny and then later given a bigger building. However, this isn’t an update to the game, rather the progress made by the player. An update to the game that involves Nook’s Cranny is more than likely coming soon.

Each update to Nook’s Cranny fills a certain amount of space and there’s still space available to make the building itself bigger, making a size increase pretty likely. Leif, a fan favorite villager, is a popular choice to join the newly updated Nook’s Cranny. In New Leaf, the same thing eventually happened.

Leif is currently an island visitor and has his own shop, but in Animal Crossing: New Leaf his shop was eventually absorbed into Nook’s Cranny, making him a permanent resident of the updated shop.

The same could very well happen this time around, as it would make Leif a lot easier to find and provide a good excuse for updating Nook’s Cranny.

This is all just speculation at this point. Nintendo recently revealed the official date and time for Animal Crossing Direct to be October 15 at 10:00 AM EST. Everything until that date is purely speculative, no matter how likely it is.

How To Get Leif To Visit Your Island

    Animal Crossing: New Leaf

The first thing to know about Leifs visits is that theres unfortunately no way to control them whether or not hell visit your town on any given day is completely random. As of the April update, hes officially joined the rotating cast of daily island visitors, where youll have one each day. Getting him is usually just luck of the draw.

However, there is one guaranteed New Horizons Leif visit the first day after your game is updated. If you apply the update before running the game, Leifs cart of goodies will be parked in your town square, ready for you to browse his wares.

Be careful though starting the game up before applying the update will give you another random visitor instead of Leif.

Leifs cart offers a variety of different plant-based products, with his most notable offering being the updates new addition to the game shrubberies.

Shrubs and bushes act as a mid-sized plant, being larger than flowers but smaller than trees, and come in a number of different fun colors and varieties. Each time he visits, Leif will have a different selection, so make sure to shop his wares when he pops up.

Leif offers another unique service as well weed collection. Normally, Timmy and Tommy will buy weeds from you at 10 Bells per clump, but Leif buys weeds at 20 Bells apiece. Its not nearly as much of a moneymaker as the services that the bug-obsessed Flick and fisher-beaver C.J. offer, but its still a nice way to offload weeds you dont need.

    Animal Crossing 20 Gyroids Explained

What Gyroids are, how to get them, and what to do with them in the Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 update.

The Animal Crossing: New Horizons Direct revealed a lot of goodies for fans of the series , but the slightly smaller surprise that stole the show was the reintroduction of Gyroids. Originally in the Gamecube version, the Gyroids are a group of terracotta-looking creatures that players can find buried in the ground and then place in their houses as a furniture piece. When turned on, they activate and begin to gyrate, as it were, making different musical sounds as they do.

This reintroduction is a wonderful callback to the previous Animal Crossing entries and with an abundance to collect and show off, it is a much larger addition than it may seem from the trailer. Gyroids have served as a sort of low-key mascot for the series, and have been referenced throughout Nintendos history, from Smash Bros. to the Nintendo version of Monopoly. It’s great to see them return as a staple, as their many interesting beeps and buzzes gave Animal Crossing a strange and unique atmosphere.
