Plant Bamboo On Your Island
Once you’ve gotten Bamboo Shoots off-island, go back home and plant them in the ground! Keep doing this until you can create your own steady supply of Bamboo Shoots! Note that you cannot grow Bamboo by burying Bamboo pieces or Young Spring bamboo. You need to plant Bamboo shoots if you want to grow Bamboo.
Get Bamboo Shoots Once Only
When you plant Bamboo on your island, once fully grown, the tree will produce a Bamboo Shoot near it once only in its entire lifetime. If you need more Bamboo or Bamboo Shoots, you need to find a bamboo island or get them from Daisy Mae.
How To Grow Bamboo In Animal Crossing: New Horizons
To plant bamboo on your island, you will have to facilitate the appropriate conditions required for it to grow. There should be enough room for it to sprout. It cannot grow next to any object or tree. After three days, the bamboo shoot will have grown into a bamboo.
When your bamboo matures it will produce shoots that will be seen as cracks at its base. You can use your shovel to dig up the shoot and find a different place to grow another bamboo on your island. Do this continuously and you will have an endless supply of bamboos and bamboo shoots.
Another way to get bamboo is by uprooting the entire plant. To do this, eat its fruit and you will be able to uproot it and plant it on your island. You can also choose to uproot one from your friends island. You will also need to eat its fruit for this to work. This is available for local and online multiplayer modes.

How To Grow Bamboo
Once you find a Bamboo island, you need to dig with your shovel at some specific locations which can give you bamboo shoots. You can then plant this bamboo shoot on your own island and create your bamboo tree. Your tree will grow completely after a few days and there will be a bamboo shoot buried in the ground nearby. Dig it up and you will have another bamboo shoot! Keep in mind that you wont be able to grow new bamboo trees if you bury young spring bamboo and bamboo pieces.
Another good way is to take out an entire bamboo plant from the Bamboo island and bring it to your island. Eat whatever fruit you have to get Fruit Energy and get digging. You could also pick one from a friends island and plant it on your own island.
While you are preparing to hit the Bamboo trees to get resources, remember to hit them with a Flimsy Axe or a Stone Axe which will not cut down the valuable tree.
Note that you will get bamboo shoots and bamboo any time of the year but young spring bamboo is seasonal. It will be dropped from chopping bamboo during the in-game spring season. In the Northern hemisphere, spring is in March, April and May. In the Southern hemisphere, its in September, October and November.

Where To Find Bamboo Pieces

How To Get Bamboo
The most effective way to get bamboo is to go to Bamboo Island. Bamboo Island is full of bamboo, and there are a lot of bamboo shoots to dig.
Bamboo shoots can be eaten directly, can also be used as raw materials for making furniture, and can also be used as seeds of bamboo.
Similar to fruit trees, bamboo shoots grow into bamboo four days after planting. The newly grown bamboo will generate a certain number of bamboo shoots around, but after players dig once, the bamboo will not continue to produce bamboo shoots.
Things You Need To Know Before Planting Your Bamboo
1. The law of bamboo planting is similar to that of fruit trees. Bamboo can grow in four days due to the influence of planting density.
2. The fruit of bamboo doesn’t grow on the tree. You can’t harvest anything by shaking the tree. The fruit of bamboo is only the bamboo shoots buried in the nearby fields, and each bamboo will bear fruit only once.
3. Each bamboo can provide three bamboo materials every day. During the period from February 25 to May 31 in the northern hemisphere, there is a chance that spring shoots will fall when cutting bamboo. During the period from August 25 to November 30 in the southern hemisphere, bamboo shoots are likely to fall when they are cut.
4. If you want to get stable bamboo materials, you can plan a bamboo forest on your own island.

Craft New Recipes And Beautify Your Island
Bamboo is a rare crafting material in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. It’s a little more difficult to get than other similar items, like maple leaves, summer shells, and snowflakes, all of which you can pick up or snag in your net while walking around your island.
How To Get Bamboo & Get To Bamboo Island
Let’s first take a look at how you can and grow bamboo in Animal Crossing: New Horizons! First, you’re going to need to take a flight via Dodo Airlines. If you haven’t done this before, your first flight will be free! If you have done this before, you will need to purchase a Nook Miles Ticket at the Nook Stop in Resident Services. Now, you’ll need to get lucky! When you take a flight to a mystery island, it is a random destination that you will end up at. You will sometimes end up at an island that spawns tarantulas or butterflies. Some islands have rocks that only drop money, and you might even find a trash island that will allow you to fish up garbage from the water! We’re looking for an island that spawns bamboo. This could take you multiple flights, but hopefully you’ll get lucky!
Once you’ve reached the location, you’ll notice quite a few X marks on the ground near the bamboo. These are normally how you dig up fossils, but on this island they will give you a bamboo shoot. This is one of the ways you can grow bamboo on your island. You can also eat a piece of fruit and dig up the whole bamboo plant itself!
Another way to get bamboo is by purchasing turnips from Daisy Mae. She arrives at your island every Sunday, so purchase a couple and she will eventually send you mail with some picked bamboo shoots!

Where To Find Bamboo
These islands in Animal Crossing contain various resources. They range from plants to trees bamboos being one of them. However, you should note that not all random islands contain bamboos. If you land on an island without them, you will have to continuously keep on redeeming your Nook Miles ticket until you find one.

When you land on an island with bamboo, look for cracks around the base of the bamboo trees available. You will have to use your shovel to dig when you spot a crack. This will enable you to collect bamboo shoots. They will be later used on your island to grow bamboos by planting them.
Where To Get Bamboo In Animal Crossing New Horizons
In order to unlock Bamboo, you need to go to the resource islands with Nook Miles tickets. There isnt a way to make this happen 100%, but if you keep going you will get a Bamboo island eventually. It took me roughly a week to find one, so hopefully I just had bad luck and you can get one quicker. Once on the island you can dig up bamboo shoots. Plant these on your island and after a few days they will grow into bamboo stalks that you can cut for the bamboo you need to craft with. You can also eat pears/other fruit and dig up the fully grown bamboo stalks and bring them back to your island, making it easier to get bamboo quickly at home. Be careful with the bamboo shoots, it will let you eat them if you click the wrong button.
Another thing to watch out for is what axe you use to chop down the bamboo. Dont use a metal axe or else you will cut the whole tree down. Instead focus on the flimsy axe or stone axe to keep the trees up and to retrieve bamboo without cutting them down. The last thing you want to do is cut down all the bamboo on your island and be stuck waiting to get lucky with a resource island again. If you have a friend with some bamboo you can trade them a few trees if they are feeling generous.

How To Get Bamboo In Animal Crossing: New Horizons
The ‘normal’ way of getting bamboo to grow in your settlement involves traveling to other, mystery islands.
Go to the Resident Services building on your island.
Access the Nook Stop in the lower-right of the room.
Select Redeem Nook Miles.
Pick Nook Miles Ticket. This item costs 2,000 Nook Miles, which you earn by doing various tasks on your island.
Choose Redeem. The machine will dispense your ticket.
Because the next steps depend on chance, you should get several tickets at once to save some trips back to Resident Services.
Now, head to your airport. Talk to Orville at the desk and say, “I wanna fly!“
At the next prompt, choose Use Nook Miles Ticket.
After some dialogue, Wilbur will fly you to another island. You’ll know right away if you’ve arrived at one with bamboo because it will be visible from the plane.
If you don’t see bamboo, talk to Wilbur to return to your island. Once you arrive, talk to Orville again and repeat the steps to use a Nook Miles Ticket. Keep trying until you get a bamboo island.
Once you get the right island, you have a few options. Use your shovel to dig up the marked spots around the bamboo plants to get bamboo shoots that you can plant when you return home.
You can also collect entire trees to take home to plant this option saves you from waiting for the shoots you plant to grow. To do so, use your shovel on a tree after you’ve eaten fruit or a bamboo shoot.

- Once one of your friends who is also playing New Horizons gets bamboo, they can either bring it to you during an island visit or mail it to you at the airport.
