Hold Off On Expanding Your House
In the early hours of the game, Tom Nook will request 5,000 Nook Miles from you to receive a tent and then 98,000 bells to convert it into a house. Once thats done, its best to hold off on expanding your home so you can save money to help finish off quests and subsequently unlock other features more quickly. Of course, this decision is entirely yours, but for those that want the entire palette of game mechanics and features, saving up early on can help make that easier.
Money Tree In Animal Crossing
This method is a physical representation of money that grows on trees. Players need to make a small investment, but unlike other methods, this process offers a guaranteed return.
Players need to start by digging a hole in their islands and planting 10,000 bells.
That’s about it. Players will need to check back after a couple of days and should find 30,000 bells. The best part about this method is that players can repeat this process as many times as they want.
The only condition is the investment of 10,000 bells.
Save Your Rarest Bugs And Fish: The Most Valuable Animal Crossing Fish And Insects
If youre at all invested in Animal Crossing social media, youll know people go nuts when they snag the rarest fish and bugs. Dorados, great white sharks, scorpions, horned Hercules, and the elusive coelacanth are all fine examples of specimens for which Timmy and Tommy will pay a pretty penny.
But wait! Dont sell these veritable gold mines to those capitalist middlemen when you can go directly to C.J. and Flick, the fish and bug geeks of Animal Crossing. They pay an extra 50% compared to the prices youd get at Nooks Cranny, which really adds up when youre selling rare critters. Just look at the adjusted sale prices for the most sought-after catches:
- Wasp 2,500 3,750
- Sturgeon 10,000 15,000
- Barreleye 15,000 22,500
Once you catch a rare fish or bug, it makes sense to stick it in home storage and wait until they come to visit on a random weekday. Unfortunately, C.J. and Flick arent guaranteed to appear every week, but if they dont show up one week, they are guaranteed to show up the following week.
Unless youre in urgent need of money, patience will reward you handsomely. Say you catch 20 scorpions on a Nook Miles Ticket island tour. Nooks entrepreneurial offspring will give you 160,000 for the lot. Sounds great, right? Well, sell them to Flick and youll net a cool 240,000 bells instead. Take that, capitalism!

Sell Items At Nooks Cranny
Nooks Cranny sells a variety of fun items to decorate your island with, but theyll also buy just about anything. They wont buy fake art from Redd or rotten turnips, but just about everything else is fair game. If you have items you dont need- extra resources, random balloon drops, duplicate DIYs- then selling them to Timmy & Tommy can add up fast!
In addition, every day at Nooks Cranny theres a Hot Item of the Day- a DIY item that theyll pay extra for on that day only. You can check what this item is each day by asking them or checking the sign out front. If you can make that DIY and it sells for a decent price, that can be a great way to make some extra Bells!
Turnip Trading Using The Stalk Market In Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Buying and selling turnips from the Stalk Market is another great and efficient method to make a fortune in New Horizons.
Daisy Mae will visit your island each Sunday till noon to sell turnips at a flat rate. After you buy turnips from her, you will have a week to sell them at Nooks Cranny before they rot. However, the prices fluctuate daily, sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worse.
The turnip prices vary across players islands in all regions. Therefore, a good idea is to communicate with your friends and check if they are being offered a higher selling price for the turnips. If so, you can drop by their island to unload your turnip stack for some major cash.

Last but not least, if youre short on Bells, but have an abundance of Nook Miles, you can convert one into the other. Simply pick up a Bell voucher from the Nook Stop at the upgraded Resident Services building for 500 Miles. Then, sell it at Nooks Cranny in exchange for 3,000 Bells.
Obviously, this is not an efficient way to utilize Nook Miles, but its certainly one of the quicker methods to earn Bells.

What Is The Donation Box For
The donation box can be placed anywhere on your island after construction. When players interact with it, it asks if youd like to make a 1.000 bell donation. If there is money in the donation box, the player whose island it is can also withdraw the bells inside.
The donation box seems likely to be a solution for players who want to thank others for letting them visit, but worry their gift may not be seen by its intended recipient.
Upon testing it, we found a visiting player that came via a Dodo Code could donate 1,000 bells at a time, and upon doing so, would say, I deposited some bells! The only downside? There isnt any way to edit the amount you donate, so leaving a lot of money securely would take a lot of time. Still, this is a more secure option than leaving the bell sack on the ground and hoping for the best.

Turn Miles Into Money
AC:NH loves to reward you for doing the little things to improve your island. Tasks like hitting rocks or catching bugs and fish which youll be doing anyway to make money earn you miles, as do other tasks for beautifying your island, like planting trees and flowers. We recommend at least completing your first five daily tasks, as theyll have miles multipliers that make these simple tasks even more valuable.
Once youve built up a surplus of miles, you can spend 2,000 of them on a valuable Nook Mystery Island tour ticket. Mystery islands can be bell bonanzas , but theyre also a time commitment. For more immediate returns, you can spend 500 miles for a 3,000 bell voucher, or earn 12,000 bells for the same price as a single island ticket.

Digging Up And Selling Fossils
Fossils are another convenient way to earn money in New Horizons. Consider selling the three to five fossils you can find each day instead of donating them to the Museum, as they could be worth thousands of Bells each. Its important to remember to have the dug-up fossils accessed by Blathers first, before taking them to sell at Nooks Cranny.
Apart from fossils, you can find a variety of things on your island that can be sold for some quick bucks. These things include fruit, seashells, items and materials that fall by shaking trees, and even weeds. Although these items arent of high worth, selling them can come in handy, especially during the early days of playing the game.
Trading Critters With Special Characters
Players can sell the bugs and fish they catch at Nooks Cranny right away. However, if you are not in urgent need of currency, you might want to take note of a special visit from Flick or CJ. Both of them will pay you 50% more for each bug and fish respectively, ensuring you maximize your income.
Once CJ and Flick arrive, they will stay around the island until the day resets at 5 am. This will grant you plenty of time to sell your catches for a hefty profit.

All The Ways To Earn Bells And Nook Miles
Animal Crossing: New Horizons has two types of currency, and players earn them through different gameplay activities. Bells in Animal Crossing are the closest analog to money since you need them to buy items and upgrade your house. Nook Miles is a secondary currency you can use to order furniture and clothes and travel to deserted islands. Since there are two currencies, there are a lot of ways to make money in Animal Crossing.

When you first start on your deserted island, all you have is a tent, a cot, a radio, a lamp, and a NookPhone. There aren’t any buildings or any easy paths to get you to the far reaches of your island. If you want to turn this beautiful location into the perfect tropical getaway, you’re going to need plenty of Bells. Fortunately, in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, money does grow on trees, and there are several quick ways to enlarge your wallet. Here are some tips for earning tons of Bells quickly.
Sell The Hot Item Of The Day
Nooks Cranny is the first shop to appear on your island. There you can sell various items to store owners Timmy and Tommy. Every day, a rotating hot item will be listed outside the shop . Whatever is listed there can be sold for double its normal asking price, so this is an easy way to make a quick buck. New Horizonss new crafting ability helps a fair bit, too: As long as you gather the needed materials and have learned the DIY recipe, you should be able to construct the hot item at a workbench. One of the most profitable hot items I saw in rotation thus far was the gong, which when doubled, netted me 10,000 bells per piece. Keeping a stock of common items like wood, iron and weeds in your houses storage can help if a hot item needs those materials to be built.

Buy Turnips And Play The Stalk Market
Every Sunday a young turnip seller called Daisy-Mae will come to your island between the hours of 5am and 12 midday selling her wares in bunches of 10. Throughout the week you are able to sell the turnips back to Timmy & Tommy and make a vast profit in the process.
However, investment doesn’t come without risk. Firstly, the buying price fluctuates daily so you’ll have to ask the raccoons and check how much they are buying for every day if you’re going to sell at the best possible time. Secondly, you only have until the next Sunday to sell the turnips before they spoil and become worthless fodder for ants and flies. If it gets to the following Saturday and the price hasn’t risen over what you paid for them, it’s best to sell and swallow the loss. Note that Timmy & Tommy do not buy turnips on a Sunday, and you can’t leave them in the drop-off box either: 9.59pm on Saturday evening is your last chance to sell them before Timmy & Tommy close up shop.
Catch Fish And Bugs To Sell
One of the best ways for beginners to earn Bells is to catch and sell fish and bugs. Players capture bugs with the net tool and fish with the fishing pole. Make sure to donate new fish and bugs to the museum, but you can sell duplicates of ones youve already donated for a decent amount of Bells. If you sell a tarantula, for example, youll get 8,000 Bells.

Use Nook Miles Tickets To Go To Mystery Islands
Obtain a Nook Miles Ticket by exchanging 2,000 Nook Miles. This allows you to travel to another island, where you can find non-native fruit, fossils, and extra materials from trees and rocks.
Try Looking for a Tarantula Island
There are rare mystery islands that have a high spawn rate of Tarantulas. Earn a lot of bells by catching as many as you can and selling them to Flick when he visits your island.

Call Of Duty: Vanguard Open Beta Start
Stockpile Fish and Bugs: Some of my most reliable moneymakers in this game are things like Red Snappers, Orchid Mantises, Peacock Butterflies and even the lowly bitterling. You can sell these to Timmy and Tommy, and you can do alright. But every once in a while Flick will visit your island to buy bugs, and CJ will visit to buy fish.
If youre the patient type, stack all your high-value critters in your home storage and wait for significantly better returns on your investment. It could take a little while, but the other day I turned in a giant school of snapper for at least 600,000 bells. Just hold on, theyll be here soon. This is also a decent way of getting a model made, if youre into it.
Make a Tarantula farm: to figuring this one out. Tarantulas are one of the most valuable bugs in the game, but theyre rare and dangerous. If you want to, however, you can farm them. You need to use a Nook Miles ticket to go to a resource island at night, and then strip that thing bare. Chop all the trees, pull all the stumps, break all the rocks, pick all the flowers: clean that thing right up. What youre trying to do is create a situation with the maximum number of spawn points for ground creatures.
If everything goes according to plan, you should be swimming in terrifying arachnids. Be careful, move slow, and combine with a stockpiling strategy for mad bells.
If you dont have friends, try social media. Its a lot more competitive, but you can get through some time.

Sell Fossils After Assessing Them
Fossils sell for a good price at Nook’s Cranny, but only if you have it assessed by Blathers at the Museum. There’s a total of 4 to 5 fossils a day. Get more fossils by visiting certain Mystery Islands!
Look for T-Rex Fossils
The T-Rex fossils are among the most profitable, selling between 5000 to 6000 Bells a piece depending on the part.
T-Rex fossils aren’t the only fossils that sell for a good price though! Check out our guide below to learn more.
