Do I Need To Have All 8 Personalities On My Island
No, you dont. There are some benefits to having all 8 personalities, such as unlocking all of the reactions as well as easily getting all the villager-crafted DIYs. The game also encourages personality diversity by personality-locking your first 6 villagers:
- Villagers 1 and 2 are Jock and Uchi
- Villagers 3-5 are Peppy, Normal, and Lazy
- Villager 6 is Smug
That said, theres no requirement to do this, and you should have the villagers on your island that you enjoy the most!

Fit Your Villager’s Vibe
Having trouble decorating a yard? Why not get inspiration from one of these aspects of your villager?
Personality: One of the most common ways of yard designing is to base it off the villager’s personality type: snacks and comfy seats for Lazy villagers, weights and sports equipment for Jock villagers, books and reading nooks for Normal villagers. Plenty of inspiration can come from what a villager has inside their house as well.
Color: Another great way to design a yard is to focus on color. Every villager has a unique house inspired by their design and color palette, making it that much easier to design a yard that matches them perfectly.
Hobby: Reddit user writing_desk reveals a lesser-known trait about villagers which is that they all have a hobby. There are 6 hobbies in total: Education, Fashion, Fitness, Music, Nature, and Play. These hobbies reflect what activities they prefer to do around the island and are a great source of inspiration for yard decoration.

Animal Crossing: Get Rid Of A Specific New Horizons Villager
The campsite method can be used if the visiting villager is one a player wants on their island. Players will have to talk to them until they offer to play a card game to decide if they should move in or not. If a player loses, they can keep talking to the campsite visitor until they offer to play again. Eventually, they will. Upon winning, the villager may decide to move to the island. They will call New Horizons’ Tom Nook and mention the island is already full, if it is. They will then randomly choose a villager on the island to kick out. If they choose one a player wants to keep, they will need to completely close out the game before making a choice, load the game again, and start the process over. This can take multiple tries as the visitor may choose to kick out the same villager more than once. Players will have to repeat this process until the visitor chooses the villager a player wants to get rid of.
The thought bubble may not show up if the villager that wants to leave that day is inside. If players accidentally tell a villager they want to keep to stay, they will have to wait about a week or two before the move-out thought bubble reappears. While kicking out a specific Animal Crossing: New Horizons villager can be tedious by taking up time and requiring multiple attempts, it can be worth it if players are set on ridding their island of an unwanted neighbor.
Animal Crossing is available now on Nintendo Switch.

But other villagers may need some convinving. If they say no, you can keep talking to them until you can convince them to move in again. For undecided villagers, they may ask you to play a card game where you have to guess which the color or suit of a card they choose. If you guess correctly, they’ll move in!|
|If they accept your invitation, they’ll move in the next day!|
If your island already has 10 residents, the visitor will ask to swap with a random villager for a plot of land..

Choose Layout First
At the beginning of the game you’ll be asked to choose your island layout. This means that it will be extremely difficult to get the ideal Layout, Fruits, and Villagers. You’ll likely have to sacrifice something here, so make sure to decide your priorities before you begin.

Preparing Land For New Residents
As your island develops, additional villagers won’t be ok with roughing it and will want a nice place to live. As such, when Resident Services is in a proper building, you’ll be able to influence your island a whole lot more. Tom Nook will enlist you to help him sell land for housing development. This of course means that you will need to ready the land for your new residents. It’ll cost you 10,000 Bells to set up each new plot, but you’ll earn 1,000 Nook Miles for your efforts.
Pay Tom Nook the 10,000 Bells for a house kit and then locate the perfect spot for a new home. Once a housing kit is placed, it will become a proper home the following day.
How To Become Friends With Your Villages

- Help them get signatures for public work projects
- Don’t ditch them if you make an appointment to see your house or for you to come to their house.
- Don’t hit them with a net or hammer.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons: Island Residents
When you begin your new life in Animal Crossing: New Horizons you’ll start with just two villagers joining you on your not-so-deserted island. However, in order to make progress and turn your paradise into a bustling hub of activity, you will need to attract new villagers to your Animal Crossing island. In fact, it’s a vital part of expanding your island – new residents are a requirement to access the ladder and the entire raised back half of your island, so it is best to heed K.K. Slider’s advice and make new friends.
In this guide we’ll cover the best ways to attract characters to your Animal Crossing island, including visiting random islands, building a campsite and using amiibo cards.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons And Frustrating Villagers
Animal Crossing: New Horizons actually makes removing these tedious neighbors difficult. Unlike previous games, there is no foolproof way to kick a villager out off of the island. Removing villagers actually takes time and dedication on the part of the player. Animal Crossing: New Horizons makes the statement that, if you want to remove a villager, then the player has to really want to get rid of them. There are a few ways that can help influence the neighbor to leave.
One important thing to remember is that everyone’s tastes are different. A villager that one player hates may be the love of another player. It’s important to keep that in mind when players talk about which neighbors they hate.

How To Get Your First Three New Villagers In Animal Crossing: New Horizons
In previous Animal Crossing games, villagers would simply move into your town and set up a house. New Horizons, however, has changed this system to make it more in keeping with the deserted island theme of the game.
When you first arrive on your island, you’ll be accompanied by two villagers and, as you slowly progress through the game, you’ll be able to invite more villagers to your island.
The maximum number of villagers you can have living on your island is 10.
The first time you’ll be able to invite new villagers to your island will be after Nook’s Cranny opens. Tom Nook will give you three housing kits to place around the island.
Once you’ve decided where to place these kits, you’ll next have to build three pieces of interior furniture and three pieces of exterior furniture for the villager whose house this will be.
After crafting this furniture, your new villagers will settle on your island one day after the other. This means that if you build all the furniture in one day, then it will take three days for each villager to arrive.
This is the only time you’re required to build furniture to make villagers move to your island. Instead, you simply have to set aside a plot of land for them to live on.
How to set aside a plot of land for a villager’s house
Setting aside a plot of land for a new villager will cost you 10,000 bells.
You’ll also be rewarded with some Nook Miles once they move in.
Using The Campsite And Amiibo Cards
If you’ve built the campsite and have Animal Crossing amiibo cards you can invite specific villagers to your island and hopefully convince them to move in. Thing is, if you already have 10 occupied houses on your island, then you’ll have to choose which of your current residents gets the boot to make way for the camper you’ve just invited.
Visiting campers can be really hard to convince, though. You’ll likely need to invite them to your island at least three times and craft souvenirs for them each day they visit. Make sure to check in with them multiple times each day to see if they’re willing to move in permanently. I had to invite Flora three days in a row and craft her some furniture each day, before she became interested in staying. But, then I was able to choose which of my villagers I kicked off of my island to make way for her.

How To Get Characters To Live On Your Island
To get more characters to come live on your island in Animal Crossing New Horizons you’ll need to consider the following options:
We’ll go into more info on each of these options below. Read on to find out exactly how to invite more characters to your island.
Travel To A Mystery Island
In addition to being the perfect place to gather Iron Nuggets, Mystery Islands double as the best places to find new villagers. You can purchase a Nook Miles ticket from the Nook Stop in Resident Services for 2,000 Nook Miles. Once purchased, take it to Orville at Dodo Airlines, and heâll charter you a flight to a Mystery Island. These randomly generated islands have unique species with extra resources and an exclusive villager you can chat up and invite. Occasionally, these islands also might be infested with tarantulas.
After landing on the island, speak to the villager there twice to recruit them to your island. Be warned, this is a random villager. If youâre looking for a specific villager, the other two methods might be a bit more useful for your needs.

How To Get More Villagers In Animal Crossing
Two villagers doesnt make an island. If you want more friends, youll need to use some Nook Miles Tickets to visit other deserted islands. The main player on the Switch will encounter a single villager on the mystery island. They can be invited to your island simply by talking to them. Youre under no obligation to do so, however. If its not someone you want to settle down with, dont invite them.
You have to do this three times before any of them can actually move onto your island.
Once youve invited three villagers, Tom Nook will talk to you about placing down their houses and ask you to prepare for their arrival. Each will also need three interior and three exterior items so they arent moving into a completely empty building.
After youve done this and Resident Services has been upgraded to the full building, instead of the tent it starts off in, you can pay Nook to create plots of land for future residents. That way, if you invite villagers to come live on your island, theyll already have a place to go.
At this point, Nook will also ask you to build a campsite. This is where villagers can come visit your island. You can talk to them repeatedly until you get a chance to encourage or discourage them from settling on the island.
