Will Redd Always Have One Real Painting
Redd sells both real and fake art, and if you want to donate it to Blathers, it has to be real. You can only buy one piece of art a day, though there may be more than one real piece of art in the mix. Once you buy it, Redd will ship it to you the next day. In Animal Crossing, paintings can now be donated to the museum, where they are added to an art exhibit. They can be obtained from either Tom Nook’s store or Crazy Redd’s Furniture Emporium. The Japanese version features four paintings that do not appear in international versions: the Lovely Painting, Healing Painting, Fine Painting, and Pleasant Feeling Painting. Additionally, the Dreadful Painting and Novel Painting from Doubutsu no Mori can be obtained exclusively via the Data Moving Service, though they cannot be donated to the museum. In international releases, the four aforementioned paintings are replaced with the Basic Painting, Scary Painting, Quaint Painting, and Classic Painting respectively, and the two paintings from Doubutsu no Mori are removed altogether. In Doubutsu no Mori e+, paintings are identical to international versions of Animal Crossing.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Redd Fake Art Guide How To Get Paintings And Statues
The wily fox Redd is a returning vendor in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, selling masterpieces of questionable authenticity. To add some much needed culture to your island, heres how to unlock Redds Treasure Trawler, as well as tell whether his art is fake or real.
With the latest update to New Horizons, Redds Treasure Trawler is here to peddle masterworks from around the world but theres a catch. In Redds inventory are pieces of deviously crafted fake art, paintings and statues, which could fool even the most meticulous collector.
Everything you can buy is an Animal Crossing version of a world-famous tour-de-force by some of the most respected practitioners in history including van Gogh, da Vinci, and Rembrandt, as well as classical Japanese artists.
Not only can you display these new art pieces in your home, but Blathers has opened a whole extra wing of the museum to show them off. By submitting pieces to the museum, youll get some extra information on their artist and creation.
How To Get The Animal Crossing: New Horizons Art Gallery
When Redd first appears on your island, head over to meet him at the plaza and he’ll offer you a painting. I had the ‘common painting’ and initially he asks for a lot of money to part with it. Say no, and he’ll offer it to you for a fraction of that price.
Buy it, and then take your newly purchased piece of art over to Blathers at the Animal Crossing: New Horizons museum. There will appear a new dialogue prompt that reads ‘I found a piece of art!’. Choose that, and you’ll get the option to donate your artwork to the museum. Thankfully, this one isn’t a forgery.
This will prompt Blathers to apply for a museum expansion permit, and you’ll get the art gallery wing added after two calendar days. The immediate day after the museum will be closed for renovations, and then the day after that you’ll get the art gallery expansion.

How Do You Get Crazy Redd
To unlock Redd, you will need to visit your island one day after you launch the updated version. Youll know Redd is on the island because Isabelle will make an announcement about a shady character wandering around. He will typically be away from your village, so search your island until you find him.
How To Find Redd For The First Time In Animal Crossing: New Horizons
There are two ways to know he has appeared. One, Isabelle can announce his presence as part of the morning update as a “suspicious character”, but Redd can also just appear without any kind of warning. In which case, check your map to see if his ship has appeared in the north shore of the island, as indicated by an icon.
Redd can also show up alongside other vendors. For us, he first appeared on the same day as Leif – so don’t discount him if someone else is stationed outside Residential Services.
If you’re struggling, some reports suggest you need to speak to Blathers once after the 1.2 update arrives, where his mention of art donations will see him arrive the next day. Though not confirmed for everyone, this is what happened to us. Either way, we recommend speaking to Blathers, then keeping an eye out each day when you play. He could take a while, but don’t worry – Redd will show up eventually!
When Redd does appear, his ship will be parked on the ‘secret’ beach on the far north of the island, behind the cliffs. However, for this first visit, the ship will be inaccessible.

Getting Paintings In Animal Crossing New Leaf
If youve played an Animal Crossing game before, youll be pleased to know that the method of getting paintings in New Leaf is the same as previous games.
Youll need to wait for Crazy Redd to show up in your town with his tent of goodies. This happens one day a week in your town, and hell always be near to your town square.
Head inside Redds tent and hell have four paintings for sale. You can only choose one each time, and after youve handed over your hard-earned Bells, hell then wrap it up and get it sent to your mailbox the next day.
In other words, you wont take it away there and then. Similarly, once youve made your choice, thats it. Youll have to wait until the next week to get another painting.
