Farming Or Grinding For Pearls
Theres no official way to farm pearls or grind for pearls in New Horizons that doesnt require time traveling, or adjusting the system clock on your Nintendo Switch to force-skip days. If you decide to time travel, the only possible way to get more pearls would be to grind for sea creatures until you get your daily Pascal encounter.
Nothing about the time or day seems to affect the likelihood that Pascal will give you a pearl, so this would just be a way to exhaust numerous Pascal encounters in one sitting with the hopes of getting pearls. Again, it is time-consuming, some players consider it cheating, and your turnips will not survive the time skip, so proceed at your own risk.

How To Get Pearls
There are two ways to get pearls:
1. Find Pearls while Diving
Pearls can sometimes be found when diving down on the ocean floor. They have a small shadow, and do not move. They are quite a rare find, so be sure and hang on to them if you do get one!
2. Trade Pascal Scallops for Pearls
Sometimes when finding a Scallop, Pascal will appear and ask for it. If you allow him to have it, he will give you something in return. You can receive a DIY recipe for the Mermaid Series, and sometimes, he will give you a pearl instead.
If you are lucky enough to encounter Pascal in the ocean, be a friend and give him the scallop you find!

Swimming Diving And Wetsuits
For the first time ever in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, youll be able to swim in the ocean surrounding your island! Using a wet suit, the sea is yours to explore and by diving, you can discover brand new sea creatures to collect.
Just like fish and bugs, these new sea creatures can be donated to the Museum expanding the institutions collection.
Youll need a wet suit in order to unlock the swimming ability though, and according to the Japanese website, these will be sold at Nooks Cranny after the update. There will also be a special wet suit available for purchase with Nook Miles.

Welcome To The Weekly Blog Of Trpica
Sorry for the delay on posts, super busy again! My wednesday started off with the spotting of a balloon gift in the sky. Again, I have the complete balloon set, but shooting down balloons can lead to Phineas giving you badges .
Speaking of Phineas, I saw him shortly after shooting down my gift. Not for balloons, but he presented me with a Seafood Maniac badge for catching a number of deep sea creatures!
And also a silver HHA badge! I finally made it over the 100,000 point marker for interior design. This also would mean a prize would be sent
I planted a few more bamboo sprouts, seeing my vision for my town come more into line. Cant wait til this is done!
I found a camper in town named Leonardo. I talked to him a lot throughout the day because I read somewhere that, while 9 villagers is the max , you can gain a 10th through another town or by a camper! However, I couldnt convince him to move, but got a few good items off of him!
Since I learned I toppled 100,000 HHA points, I headed towards Nooks Homes, gaining a new beetle to my encyclopedia along the way!
It felt good to hear Lyle give me the news I already knew
Among the items I got from Leonardo were a mixer box and a video camera! These will look great in my studio!
I decided after that to go deep sea diving to try and find more species. I stumbled upon a sea slug
and a scallop!
I caught up with Pecan in town and she asked me to give her a new greeting which I graciously did. lol

Everything Changes Sometimes It’s Scary Sometimes It’s A Relief And Sometimes It Means Dinner’s Ready
Change is a major theme of life, and is a large one for this otter philosopher to tackle. However, he does it with grace and even whimsy.
Change can be big and scary, like moving to a new town. It can be a relief, like finally finishing your homework. Or it can just be the smallest thing of all that you barely notice such as dinner being ready!
You Ever Stop While Diggin’ Up Fossils And Wonder What Kind Of Museum You’re Gonna End Up In Someday
Some may find this certain quote a little haunting and disturbing, but Pascal makes a good point. Once again, he puts life into a perspective outside the confines of the single lived experience.
One day all our lives will be a part of historical stories. Maybe we should think about that more, and how we really want to be remembered.

List Of Mermaid Set Diy Recipes
Once per day, Pascal can bestow upon your sea swimming soul a relic from the deep. Its neat trust me. Somehow, the philosophical otter has a treasure trove of mermaid-themed items. Were talking mermaid DIY recipes, dresses, shoes, and accessories. The mermaid set can help make the indoors feel like youre under the sea. Utilizing New Horizons crafting mechanic, youll have to have a variety of shells, iron nuggets, and pearls near your workbench. That last crafting material is new to this update, and can be acquired by trading with/gifted by Pascal or you find one on your next dive. Check out the full list below:
Why Is Pascal Not Giving Me Recipes
A glitch in Animal Crossing: New Horizons can prevent players from receiving Mermaid DIY recipes from Pascal. The Mermaid furniture series and the materials to craft them, pearls, are already very rare to find under the ocean, and this isnt doing much to help the scarcity of the gorgeous looking furniture.

Get Pearls While Diving For Sea Creatures
The primary way you can get Pearls in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is by swimming in your surrounding ocean and diving deep underwater for Sea Creatures using a Wet Suit.
While the Pearl is not officially considered a Sea Creature since you cant donate one to the Museum or collect it in your Critterpedia, they are obtained in the same manner.
How To Spot Pearl Bubbles & Shadows
Theres no way to guarantee catching a Pearl, but there are a few simple tips you can follow to help spot one when youre swimming and diving for Sea Cratures.
For starters, the shadow of a Pearl is relatively small and will never move. But the best way to spot Pearls is to keep an eye on the bubble behavior of creatures in the sea!
Specifically, weve found that the Pearl always has a relatively low amount of bubbles rising from the sea floor and in a mostly straight pattern upwards. The bubbles for Pearls dont seem to wildly wave from side to side, like some other Sea Creatures do.

How To Get More Pearls In Animal Crossing
You can get more pearls by diving every day and making sure you talk to Pascal. Unfortunately, farming pearls is not an official option in New Horizons.
Pearls are a rare resource in Animal Crossing: New Horizons that you need to craft the summer updates mermaid-themed DIY recipes. The new Animal Crossing: New Horizons update has launched today, but while swimming and diving have been added, some players are finding that Pascal is not showing up in Animal Crossing. Why Cant I Find Pascal
Once youre in the water and start diving for sea creatures, Pascal will eventually appear, but only when you find a scallop. He wont appear every time you catch a scallop or even the first timeits random, but he will only appear once a day. He can appear on your island alongside other special visitors too.
‘animal Crossing: New Horizons’ Pascal Guide: Scallops Pearls And More
Animal Crossing: New Horizons players are discovering all there is to offer in the summer update.
Players can now swim and dive to discover new sea creatures, but there’s one specific creature that gamers will want to find: scallops. Finding just one scallop will initiate an encounter with Pascal, a new character in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Pascal will be glad to trade scallops for other goods like pearls, DIY Recipes and more. Read on to learn how to find scallops, pearls and what our friendly otter wants to trade.
HOW TO FIND SCALLOPS
Scallops, like other sea creatures in New Horizons, can be found by diving where there are shadows in the water. We actually find it easier to look for the bubbles rising to the surface, though, and then diving to find whatever sea creature is there.
Scallops can be found randomly, and from our own experience they aren’t found so easily. However, if you keep swimming and diving you’ll eventually find them.
This creature can be donated to Blathers in the museum, and can be sold in the Nook Shop. But when you find your first one, you’ll meet Pascal.
Players will meet Pascal once a day. When you find your first scallop of the day, Pascal will immediately appear to ask if they can have it. You can give it to him to obtain one of a few items at random.
A pearl is the first item, which is used to craft items from the Mermaid Set that is introduced with the summer update.

When Does Pascal Come
From what is known till now, once Pascal gives you a DIY recipe, he wont appear again in that day. Even if you collect more scallops, you will only see him once a day. This is similar to his appearance schedule in New Leaf.
There is no fixed time to meet him as well. It could be on the first scallop you caught in the day or the third. Just keep trying and he will show up. You can also follow him as he swims away and watch him eat the scallop you gave him. When you get near him, Pascal will turn his head to look at you but there are no other interactions possible at this point.

Tips To Find Pearls In Animal Crossing
Finding pearls in Animal Crossing isnt easy because you are far more likely to find random sea creatures like sea slugs and anemones. Here are some tips to keep in mind when diving for pearls:
- Pearls typically have small shadows.
- Pearls typically generate fewer bubbles, and the bubbles dont wave around a lot.
- If a shadow moves around a lot, it isnt a pearl.
- Ignore shadows that clearly arent pearls to speed up your search.
- Press the A button repeatedly to swim faster while looking for pearls.
- Pearls come from oysters in real life, but you cant get them from oysters or pearl oysters in Animal Crossing. Feel free to donate those to the museum or sell them.
- Pascal will only trade one scallop per day, so dont hoard your scallops. Feel free to donate or sell them as you like.

- Use ascrafting materials in recipes for the new Mermaid Series of furniture
- Sell for 10,000 Bells to Timmy and Tommy
- Not recommended, as similar to gold they are highly rare, and worth more as a crafting material
