How To Get A Bridge In Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Crossing the river now allows you to collect fossils and explore more of the island – but you’ll soon grow tired of having to use the Vaulting Pole every time you want to explore these later regions. For this, we need to build a bridge.
Building a bridge in Animal Crossing: New Horizons takes a little more work, and requires you unlock Nook’s Cranny and start the process of placing new Villager houses around the island.
If you’re not there yet, the steps are as follows. Talk to Timmy and Tommy in Residential Services, who want to build a shop but need various resources first – 30 pieces of each type of Wood Material, as well as 30 Iron Nuggets.
Settle on where to build the shop, and the next day, it will be open for business. On the same day, Nook will then have a phone call about new people interested in the island relocation programme during his usual daily briefing.
Once he has the call, pay Nook a visit in Residential Services. Talk to him about the new Villagers arriving, and when ready, choose ‘What should I do?’ from the menu.
It’s at this point the Bridge unlocks – as before the Villagers can arrive, they need a way to get around the island. You’ll receive the Bridge Construction Kit, which requires the following materials:

Catch 5 Unique Fish Or Bugs And Donate Them To Tom Nook
Before anything, make sure that you’ve gone through the game’s tutorial, gotten your NookPhone from Tom Nook, and have taken his DIY workshop. If you still haven’t taken Tom Nook’s workshop and don’t have a fishing rod, follow our “Animal Crossing” first hour guide until you get one.
Head outside with your fishing rod and bug net and start hunting. You’ll want to catch five unique species this can be five bugs, five fish, or a mix of both.
At this time of year in the Northern Hemisphere, you’ll be able to easily find three different types of butterflies in your starting area. Some shells on the beach will hide hermit crabs, which you can catch with your net as well.
Between your ocean and rivers, there are over 20 different types of fish available to you right from the start. Catching multiple fish in succession without scaring any away might even earn you bonus Nook Miles.
Once you’ve caught five, head to Tom Nook and talk to him. You’ll find that a new option has appeared: “I found a creature!”
Keep giving your critters to Tom, and when he asks you if he can send them to his “old friend,” accept.
As soon as you give him your fifth catch, he’ll receive a call from this friend: Blathers, a famed museum curator, is coming to town, and needs somewhere to stay. Tom Nook will give you a new tent to set up, which you should then place down anywhere on your island.

Put Up A Fence By Rocks
Speaking of getting resources from rocks, theres a trick to maximize your daily haul. If you played New Leaf on the 3DS, youll know that hitting a rock with a shovel or an axe pushes your character backward. And this is a problem because the rock acts on a timer. If you waste time running back into position to hit the rock, the timer may run out before you get get all eight hits in.
The solution to this is simple: build a fence behind you. Of course, you can also dig holes because they will also keep you in place. But fences look better, and you can even leave them up permanently if you want.

Always Buy Every New Thing In The Shop
Every day, the store on your island will have new products in stock. And while you may not always want everything, you should still buy anything that you havent seen before. So buy the new goods and then give them away to other villagers or immediately sell them back to Timmy and Tommy. And then, when you need a specific item to complete a certain look in your house or town, you might already have access to it.

Animal Crossing New Horizons introduces a new vaulting pole item that allows players to cross bodies of water. This guide will help players unlock it.
The Vaulting Pole item is important to Animal Crossing New Horizons as it can save plenty of time for traversing the island.
