Animal Crossing Pole Vault Recipe
Like any tool in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you need the right DIY Recipe for the pole vault. Unfortunately, it’s not one you can buy from Resident Services or get as a reward from Tom Nook.
On your first day , head up to Resident Services to get a run-down on DIY from Tom Nook. He’ll have you make a Flimsy Fishing Rod as a tutorial, and then he leaves you with a parting thought: he’s very interested in the local fauna.
That’s a big passive-aggressive hint to go out and get him some fauna. Use your new fishing pole, or craft a bug net whichever you prefer and bring Tom Nook five different bugs or fish.
This is how you’ll unlock the Museum. Nook rings up his old friend Blathers and tells him there’s a surprising variety of wildlife to find. This attracts everyone’s favorite owl to the island but not right away.
Nook gives you another tent to set up for Blathers. This will eventually blossom into the Museum after you give Blathers a set number of donations, but like any newcomer moving onto the island, the tent site stays up for the rest of the day. The actual move-in won’t happen until the next day dawns.
Once it does, head over to Blathers’ tent. He tells you the real reason he wanted to speak with you and why he’s so excited about the island: those fossils across the river. After he realizes you can’t leap across the river of your own accord, Blathers gifts you the vaulting pole DIY Recipe and the shovel recipe as well.
How To Get The Vaulting Pole As Player 2
Isn’t the recipe for it sold in nooks cranny? Or alternatively you could just build her one from your recipe
have you tried making one for her and then leaving it somewhere she can get it when she logs on?
Timmy and Tommy sell the recipe in Nooks Cranny. Or do what I did and just make a second one and leave it on the ground outside the other person’s house.
You can make her one and drop it / gift it. Also, story-locked DIY tool recipes end up in Nook’s Cranny as well once the Resident Rep. gets them.
For me blathers did eventually give me the pole as I am the player 2 on the island. At first he didnt but after just doing some stuff around the island and i believe with Tom nook i talked to blathers and he gave me the pole
I bought myself a switch lite because of this issue. Only the main account will get certain tools and stuff unlocked on your island and if you don’t play and progress the second account is just kind of stuck. The second player has to buy the recipes from the nook shop but as you get further the better tools aren’t available for sale.

To unlock the vaulting pole, you need to complete a series of tasks first, but, sadly, it will take more than one day to do it.
First things first, bring five unique fish or bugs to Tom Nook and agree to let him send them to his curator friend . After successfully handing over the specimens, Tom Nook will get a phone call from Blathers, who is excited at the amount of wildlife on the island. Blathers will agree to come to the island and set up a museum.
The next day, Blathers will arrive in town. Speak to him and he will hand over the DIY recipe for your very only vaulting pole!
To craft the vaulting pole, youll need five pieces of softwood. Once youve successfully crafted it, youll be well on your way to accessing all areas of your island!
How To Unlock Tools In Animal Crossing: New Horizons
The following are all the different tools that you can use in the game and how you can unlock them.
In order to get a watering can you need to catch at least 4 bugs or fish. Show them to Tom Nook. As a reward, you will get the recipe for Flimsy Watering Can and flowers to plant. The watering can will increase the speed at which the flowers bloom. It can also be used to create new colors for flowers. These colors will not be available at the store.
Fishing Rod And Bug Net
After the tutorial day, you will start your real first day on the island. Get the Nook Phone and then talk to Tom Nook in the Resident Services Tent. Tom will offer a DIY workshop. Accept the offer and bring him 5 wooden branches. You can use these to craft a Flimsy Fishing Rod. This can be used to catch fish. The flimsy version can only catch 10 fish so you will need to make more.
Tom will also give you the recipe for the Flimsy Net. This can be used to catch insects or floating objects. You can even use it to annoy villagers.
Stone And Iron Axes
In order to get an axe you need to get the Flimsy Net and Flimsy Fishing Rod from Tom Nook. When he encourages you to show him bugs or fish, you need to give him at least two examples. He will then reward you with the recipe for the Flimsy Axe. Axes can be used for cutting wood, chipping rocks and cutting down trees.

How To Craft The Vaulting Pole
Getting the vaulting pole isn’t too difficult, you just need to know a couple of steps. First, you are going to want to run through the basic tutorial of the game. This is pretty much an hour or so of playing through the game and following orders. Once you’ve free and on your own, you will want to get yourself at the very least a Bug Net or a Fishing Pole. These are pretty easy to get, just grab some branches off the ground and then craft them at the crafting table. You can find this in the green tent that houses Tom Nook.
Now, you need to catch five different bugs or fish! It doesn’t matter which of these you find, but they have to be five unique ones. So, catching a mix of both bugs and fish will likely be easier! Once you have your five unique items, you need to bring them back to the green tent and show them off to Tom Nook!
Tom Nook will be so enamored with these items that he will call up a friend of his! This friend is Blathers, who is an owl that runs the museum. You will need to place down Blathers’ tent, which will eventually become the museum. So, make sure you’re serious about the location you pick! Once you place the tent, Blathers will be inbound to the location, but will not arrive immediately. You will need to wait a full day to return back to the tent and interact with them.
How To Unlock The Ladder
To get the Ladder, you must progress through Tom Nooks tasks of paying off your tent payment and building your home, building Nooks Cranny, and then a bridge to start work on the three villager homes that need furnishing.
After placing the lots down, Tom Nook will inform you that one recipe will require use of the flowers atop the islands peaks, and will give you the recipe to make a Ladder. The Ladder is a tool that will allow you to climb or lower yourself to different elevations on the island without having to use a ramp or incline. Thankfully, just like the Vaulting Pole – it wont break!

With the Vaulting Pole recipe in hand, you can now go about actually making one. To do this, you need to collect 5 pieces of softwood from around the island.
Once you’ve collected all of that, visit a crafting bench and you’ll have the option of making a Vaulting Pole of your very own. Congratulations! You can now cross rivers with ease, and in style!
