Look For Guest Visitors And Listen Out For Surprise Packages
As well as Nook, his nephews and a couple of fellow settlers, you will occasionally happen upon some guests who will give you simple fetch quests.
It is well worth seeking these out regularly as they always reward you with items for the home or clothing.
You should also ensure you talk to your neighbours often. They sometimes have items for you too.
Flying packages arrive much more regularly, often several in one day. You need to listen out for them, as a whooshing wind sound indicates that a gift box tied to a balloon is somewhere in the vicinity. You need a slingshot to pop the balloon and send the package crashing to the earth.
One word of warning: dont pop the balloon over water. Your package will sink, although you do get Nook Miles reward for it.

Find The Daily Visitor
Each day you should have a visitor on your island. This could be the washed up Gulliver, a seagull who is suspiciously found washed up on the beach, or someone like Saharah, a camel who trades mystery wallpaper, flooring, and rugs. Theres even a ghost who will occasionally appear at night named Wisp! They each offer different services or tasks that usually yield a reward.

Touch Other Players’ Items To Catalog Them
You can catalog new items easily by picking up something another player dropped and putting it back on the ground. This method is sometimes called “Touch Trading” or cataloging. Once the other player’s new item is in your inventory, that item will be registered in your catalog and you can purchase exactly same item in Nook Shopping!
Item Has To Be In “Leaf Form”
You can only pick up an item when it’s in leaf form. Ask other players to drop items instead of placing them on the ground.

Some furniture also happens to have multiple color variants. However, you can only get 1 color from the Nook’s Cranny and Nook Milage Program on your island. To get other ones, you’ll have to visit other players’ islands.
How To Climb Up The 4th Level Cliff In Version 19
Step 1: Dig Three Tiles In, Dig One Corner Tile
To get started with climbing to the 4th level of your cliffs, dig three empty tiles into the cliff in the north to south direction, like an upside down L shape. Obviously, you need to have created some cliff area on the 4th level already for this.
Next, go ahead and round out the 4th tile so that its a rounded corner tile, making a 2×2 square with the bottom left corner curved. Essentially just recreate exactly what you see in the screenshot below if its too confusing!
Its sometimes possible to pull off this glitch from the south to north direction or others instead, but it seems to work far more reliably in the manner were outlining here, so try this first.
Step 2: Place A Small Item North Of You In The Middle of 4 Tiles
For the second step, you need to find a small 1×1 tile item. In this example, were using the Glass Holder With Candle, but the glitch should work fine with any similarly sized item.
Once youve got your small 1×1 item ready, place it down carefully in the direct middle of the 4 tiles above you. Basically you want the item in the half-tile position in between all four tiles. Its extremely important that you place it right like this for the glitch to work correctly.
Again, you can refer to the screenshot above to see the exact placement and copy it!
Step 3: Face The Item North, Move Down Towards South East, Quickly Press A To Dig

How To Get The Vaulting Pole To Cross Rivers
In order to cross the rivers on your deserted island and explore the other side, youll need to get your hands on the important Vaulting Pole tool item.
Unlocking the Vaulting Pole requires you to first make it to at least your second full day on the island with Blatherss Tent fully built and open ready to accept donations. In order to build Blatherss Tent, you first need to donate five bugs or fish to Tom Nook at Resident service and place the location for Blatherss Tent.
After placing the location for Blatherss Tent, the construction will be completed the next morning. When the day begins, head over inside of his tent to speak with Blathers and he will discuss with you his interest in finding fossils on the island.
In order to get to the fossils on the island though, youll need to be able to cross the river to find the dig spots, which of course requires the Vaulting Pole tool! Therefore Blathers will transfer both the Vaulting Pole crafting recipe and the Flimsy Shovel crafting recipe to your NookPhone.
How to Craft the Vaulting Pole
Youll need to gather five Softwood crafting materials to craft the Vaulting Pole tool item. Those can be gathered by hitting a tree with either the Flimsy Axe or Stone Axe, but only once per day. If you dont find enough Softwood from one tree, try another as the type of wood that drops is random.
Plant Fruit You Find Or Receive
One of the reason to ensure you gather as much fruit as possible on other islands is that you can use them to grow specific trees on your own.
For example, you can grow coconut-laden palm trees on your beach. All you need to do is dig a hole, plant one of the fruit types you’ve gathered and three or so days later you’ll see a new, fully grown tree – bearing the same fruit you returned with.
Then, you can always gather from those new trees and plant the fruit elsewhere on the island, if you want to have more of them dotted around.

Wait Until Tom Nook Gives You A Bridge Construction Kit
Now, before any of the villagers finally move to your island, you will need to get a green light from Tom Nook. The process begins when Tom Nook gives you the recipe for a bridge construction kit. This is because you will first need to gather the necessary resources to actually build the ladder. You will need four log stakes, four bits of clay, and four stone lumps. And once youre done collecting all the items, you will need to select a spot where you will open up the island.

Incline Rules And Requirements
Here are important things to take note of when choosing a place to build your incline.
You Need 8 Spaces of Land in Total
You need to have 2×1 spaces on the cliff, and 2×3 spaces on the land below. If you have the Island Designer app unlocked, you can easily manipulate the land to your liking.
You Cannot Build Inclines Diagonally
It is not possible to build inclines diagonally, unlike bridges. You can only build inclines horizontally and vertically.
You Cannot Build Inclines Directly Next to Each Other
You also cannot build slopes next to each other, if you wanted to make a wider ramp. Each incline should be at least 1 space apart.
You Cannot Build Inclines Facing Water
Even if you have adequate spacing, you cannot build an incline when the entry or exit is facing the water. There should be at least 1 space free around the incline.

Animal Crossing: How To Get The Game’s Rarest Beetles
Players may be scratching their heads over how to get the rarest beetles, but there’s a simple method they can use to snag those stubborn bugs
In the beginning of July, Animal Crossing: New Horizons added over twenty new bugs. However, even the most hardcore players will find it difficult to catch them all at once, as these bugs appear in different locations at different times. Currently, the horned beetles are the most sought after due to their high prices and colorful appearances.
Unfortunately, these beetles spawn infrequently, so it’s hard to find them to fill out one’s Critterpedia. Also, once players do find them, it’s all too easy to either scare the beetles off or miscalculate the distance to the trees these bugs are resting on. Luckily, there’s an easier way to nab rare beetles with a method people may already be familiar with: creating a Tarantula Island.
The game’s rarest beetles include the scarab , giant stag , cyclommatus stag , golden stag , giraffe stag , horned atlas , horned elephant and horned hercules . The scarab beetle and giant stag spawn on trees from 11 PM to 8 AM, while the others only spawn on palm trees from 5 PM to 8 AM.
Are Stairs And Slopes Worth It
Stairs and Slopes provide an easy way to climb cliffs without having to pull out the Ladder every time, making them a big time-saver.
As makeshift bridges can be made with the Island Designer tool, theyre a better long-term investment than Bridges.
That said, each set of Stairs and Slopes is a sizeable investment of 98,000 Bells or more. If you want to make these kind of changes to your island, be sure to start saving up early!
Gather Donations from visitors
After placing down a construction marker, a Gyroid will be in front of the planned location to accept donations. Once the full amount has been paid, the Stairs or Slopes will be constructed.

How To Unlock Terraforming In Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Tom Nook has to gift you the Island Designer app. Hell give it to you after K.K. Slider puts on his first show on the island. To get him on the island, you have to complete the games story, which involves building the museum, helping Timmy and Tommy setup Nooks Cranny, getting more residents to move on to your island, and then upgrading the island to a three-star ranking. After you finish all that, K.K. will drop by and sing the games theme song, and Nook will give you the app.
At first youll only start with two terrain options: grass and dirt. To unlock more pathing choices, youll have to buy them individually from the Nook Stop at Resident Services for 2,000 Nook Miles each. A customizable pathing option where you can use a custom pattern as a path is available for 2,000 Nook Miles. Youll also need permits to change cliffs and water, each of which costs 6,000 Nook Miles.
Building Your Museum And Collection
If youve unlocked the Critterpedia app, the first thing you might notice is the great number of blank spots for fish and bugs. There are tons of common critters to catch, as well as rare ones, but they will come with time. You will quite literally need time, too. Some critters are only available in certain seasons and, even more specifically, at certain times. Check out our guide for Bugs and for Fish to see all the ones weve found so far along with their sale price.
Bug Catching Tips:
- You can approach bugs slowly by holding down A and moving toward your target.
- Regardless of how slow you move, some bugs will notice you. When they do, stand still and move again only after they look away!
- Some bugs will only appear on very specific places, like on flowers, on rocks by the ocean or on a tree stump.
- Bugs may not sell for much, but you will eventually meet a visitor who will buy them at a premium.
As far as fossils go, every crack in the ground you see is a fossil. Be sure to dig it up and always get it assessed before even thinking about selling it! Blathers can only do one at a time at first, but thatll change quickly.

You can edit your passport by selecting the Passport App in your Nook Phone. Each Nook Miles challenge unlocks two words that you can mix and match. Check out the Nook Miles page to see all the words weve found.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons Iron Nuggets Guide
Specifically, your loot will drop on the ground into any open spot directly next to the rock . That means you can easily get six chops from any stone: one for each open spot next to it, minus the two you block with holes or items. With a little practice, and one fewer hole, you can get as many as seven in one go!
Unfortunately, it can still be a huge pain to farm the 30 Iron Nuggets necessary to complete the first in-game store. Most islands are rotten with trees, but sport only a handful of accessible rocks to mine. Youll need to reach out to friends and their islands to get more. Alternatively, you can spend 2000 Nook Miles on a plane ticket to reach a randomly selected in-game island! These typically have another handful of boulders to smash.
Last but certainly not least: make sure you dont overdo it. Eating fruit will supercharge your axe swing. If you hit a boulder in this state, it will instantly destroy the object, netting you just two random rocks. Thats a far cry from what you want! Higher-end tools can also destroy objects on any island. Its only temporary. However, you dont want to wait an extra day just to get an Iron Nugget or three.
Speaking of Iron Nuggets, these items in particular can be obtained from your starting villagers. Once you begin the process of building the store, talk to your residents. Theyll often supply you with a few of the necessary components to speed up the process. They wont do all the work for you, but it goes a long way!
How To Get To Higher Ground In Animal Crossing
Once you have obtained the ladder, the last thing you need to do is to find the perfect spot to build and decorate your building. In addition to the great awesome view, your islands clifftop regions are home to new vegetation and wildlife. Wildflowers will bloom there, attracting new creatures such as mantises and bees. Youll also come across Fossils and buried Bells.
With a massive variety of items, you can get everything you need right here from Nooks Treasure.

How To Get The Ladder Recipe
You won’t be able to build a ladder until you get the DIY recipe from Tom Nook. This occurs after you’ve invited three characters to your island to live there. You can read more on inviting new islanders here. Once all three have been invited you’ll be asked to build three houses along with furnishings. One of the items you need to make is a wreath, meaning you’ll need to reach the flowers growing up on the cliff edges. Tom Nook will send you a recipe for a ladder at this point.

How To Get To Higher Grounds In Animal Crossing
It is at this stage that you need a ladder to reach higher grounds. So, you will first have to place all three plots for the new residents before you get a phone call from Mr. Nook where he will address the issue with getting the flowers. He will finally hand you the recipe to get the ladder.
From there on, it will just be a matter of going to the Residents’ Services and making one. To do so, you will require four wood, four hardwood and four softwood.
