Getting Started: Where And When To Buy Turnips
All you need to start trading turnips is cash. Bells. Any amount, really. The more you put in, the more youll get out if all goes to plan. Profit is profit, so anything you invest will typically be worth the time.
Turnips are sold once a week by Daisy Mae, an adorable little boar who youll find wandering around your island with the vegetables strapped to her head. Unlike other traveling merchants like Label, Kicks, and Leif, shes far more predictable, showing up every Sunday morning without fail. You have until noon that day to buy as many turnips as you want from her, with the price she charges being fluid each week.
Like a real-world investment, the idea is to buy low and sell high. Daisy Mae will usually charge between 90 and 110 Bells per turnip, and shell let you buy as many or as few turnips as you like before she closes up shop for the week. You can carry a stack of 100 turnips in each inventory slot, meaning its possible to buy no more than 4,000 turnips in a single run at a maximum cost of 440,000 Bells. Thats a lot of cash and a lot of veggies.
Once bought, you have until the following Sunday to sell your turnips to the Nooklings either on your island or someone elses. Any turnips left over will spoil and rot, becoming little more than garbage used to attract some bugs like ants for the museum. You can literally watch your money shrivel up, die, and be consumed by insects.

What’s New With The Stalk Market
In all Animal Crossing entries, players can dabble in buying and selling turnips to make a profit. In previous games, Joan was the basket-bearing boar eager to share her turnips for a price. However, the role has now been relegated to her granddaughter, Daisy Mae.
You can find sweet Daisy Mae wandering your island from 5am to noon each Sunday, selling her wares in bundles of 10 at unlimited amounts, if you have the money. The prices can vary from 90 Bells to 110 Bells per turnip .
As always, players have from Monday until the following Sunday to unload their stock at which time, the turnips will rot, along with your investment. Of course, time travelling will also rot your lot, so don’t go committing any time crimes after buying.
The turnips can be sold Monday-Saturday at the island’s shop for anywhere from 15 to 800 Bells . There will be two different prices per day, with the change occurring at noon. Prices will fluctuate throughout the week, often along different patterns so watch carefully.
Of course, seasoned veterans will be well aware that turnips take up space and cannot be kept in storage. If you’re stuck on ideas for where to keep your turnips until the market turns, we’ve got you covered in our Pockets Inventory Upgrade Guide .
What Time Does Daisy Mae Show Up To Sell Turnips In Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Turnip seller Daisy Mae is one of several characters who will roam the island on foot, but unlike other vendors such as carpet seller Saharah, you can set your watch to Daisy Mae’s arrival.
Daisy Mae will appear in your village every Sunday morning, leaving at 12pm. Previous games saw Joan arrive at 6am, and it’s likely the same in New Horizons for any early risers out there.
Talk to Daisy Mae and she will sell you Turnips in batches of 10. The price of these Turnips will change week-to-week, and from player-to-player, so provided you are happy with the price, purchase as many as you are comfortable with.
Now you have Turnips, the aim is to sell them in the following week. But no matter what, they must be sold by the following Sunday. Otherwise, the Turnips will rot, and your investment will be lost. Remember – if you get to Saturday afternoon and you sell at loss, it’s better to do that than lose it all.
If you’ve just started playing, note you must have played for at least two or three days before Daisy Mae first appears. You should receive a letter from her in the mail, advertising her services, ahead of her first visit on the coming Sunday.

Time Traveling With Turnips
Its important to be aware of some restrictions on time traveling once youve bought any turnips in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. If you change your system clock backwards in time and load the game at any point while owning turnips, the game will automatically spoil all of your turnips, even if its not the next Sunday yet.
Additionally, with the Version 1.2 update released in April, any time traveling backwards by even a single minute can cause your current turnip prices to be reset resulting in a new pattern. If youre on track for a large spike price or already have one and time travel, it may no longer occur.
Animal Crossing Turnips: How To Find Buy & Sell Them
Animal Crossing: New Horizons has plenty of ways for its villagers to get rich, but no method works as well as finding, buying, and selling Turnips.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons has plenty of ways for villagers to get rich, but no method works as well as finding, buying, and selling Turnips. Turnips and their mechanics are the Animal Crossing version of the Stock Market, appropriately named the “Stalk Market” by the community. However, this opportunity only comes around once every Sunday during a limited window of time, so anyone who is trying to make as many bells as possible quickly should be prepared.
Like stocks, Turnip prices fluctuate and can actually cost players Bells if they aren’t sold correctly. Two major things to know about Turnips in Animal Crossing are they rot after a week of not being sold, and they cannot be stored away like other items. If someone doesn’t have the inventory space to hold them, the only thing they can do is drop the Turnips on the ground.

How To Recover From Bad Prices
If you got a bad pattern or didn’t sell at the right time, you’re not completely screwed: You can sell your turnips on other people’s islands! If you have friends who are also playing the stalk market, it’s a good idea to talk to them about your prices throughout the week and see if you might get a better deal elsewhere. Making lots of friends and communicating each week is key for making this easy.
Search For High Prices On Twitter
Twitter is the perfect spot to find other user that just got a high price and are eager enough to share their success to the world. And some open their island to let others join.
Just search for the hashtags #turnipprices or #turnipexchange and you find plenty of tweets of islanders that have a lucky day. Some may then give you their Dodo code if you retweet their post.

Requires The Player To Check Prices Every Day
If you’re willing to check every Sunday for a low price, invest a hoard of Bells into a single Turnip purchase, and check all 12 prices in one week.
You’re pretty much guaranteed to make some profit.
Keep in mind that since the profit will probably only yield around 150% of your original investment, the only way to break the bank is to buy a huge number of turnips.
Sell When You Have Pattern 2 Or 4

The best times to sell Turnips is when you hit the Spike of either the Sudden or Slow Spike price patterns!
The best of the two is the Sudden Spike, but since the weekly patterns are mostly random and a matter of luck, it takes a long time to predict when it will happen.

When To Sell Turnips
Like in Animal Crossings before, these turnips go bad after a week, so after you invest, you have a whole week to sell them. Timmy and Tommy wont buy them on Sunday, so you must sell turnips before the following Sunday on any other day
When you decide to sell is entirely up to you, but keep an eye out for higher rates. Timmy and Tommy will sometimes offer fewer Bells than you paid for your turnips. Try to avoid this at all costs.
Turnip prices fluctuate in the morning and again in the afternoon. If you don’t like the morning price, check in the afternoon. You’re more likely to see turnips going for 100+ Bells, but if you’re lucky, they’ll go for well over 500 and even into 600 Bells territory. Those high prices seem to be rare, so consider working with friends or an online community to find the best turnip selling price.
People have traditionally seen good turnip prices on Tuesdays, but it’s best to check regularly.
Here are some stalk market and turnip tips to keep in mind:
How To Buy And Sell Turnips
After meeting Daisy Mae, shell give you an unmoving price at which turnips can be bought. Its take it or leave it, but the prices will be different at other peoples islands.
You can sell turnips at different price levels at Nooks Cranny. Ask Timmy and Tommy about the price of turnips, as seen below, and youll be able to hopefully make a sweet bit of profit.
In our experience, turnips have an approximate average price of 100 bells each. Youll want to buy at as low a level as possible and sell when a profit is possible – you get a week to sell before your turnips spoil, so be quick about it!
Prices in Nooks Cranny change each day in the morning and afternoon, but you cant sell on Sunday. Its worth checking back at least a couple times a day so you can get the best possible value for your turnips.

When To Buy Turnips From Daisy Mae
Daisy Mae’s turnip prices will be different each Sunday and range from 90 Bells to over 100 Bells. Regardless, you have to buy them in bundles of 10. Buying turnips under 100 bells is usually a good bet. Consider writing down how much you bought them for, or take a screenshot of the price for reference.
If you’ve got friends playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons, be sure to check what prices they have. You can visit their town and buy turnips from Daisy Mae if they’re cheaper. There are also some apps out there, such as Turnip Prophet, that let you predict price fluctuations and major spikes.
You cannot plant turnips, so don’t try to grow more!
Storing Turnips And The Terrors Of Time Travel
Unlike Daisy Mae, you cant pull millions of turnips out from your pocket like its nothing. Those things take up valuable inventory space for most of the week, making the rest of your island life a little less relaxing than it ought to be. Turnips cant be stored with the likes of your clothes, wood, and leftover Bunny Day crafts, but that doesnt mean the space afforded by all those house upgrades will go to waste.
Turnips can be placed like furniture. In fact, its the only way to get them out of your pocket. Be it inside on your fancy modern wood flooring or outside on the grass, turnips will sit pretty either on the floor or atop a surface like a table or a shelf. One thing to note is that Isabelle and the rest of your island denizens dont take kindly to turnips left on the ground. They wont make any passing comments, but a single turnip left lying around will knock your five-star town rating right back down. Clear out the basement if you want to keep things clean.
Once youre ready to sell, all you have to do is pick them up and lug them over to the Nooklings.

How To Plant And How Money Trees Work In Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Enough with fruit: the best thing to plant in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a money tree. The money tree is an old series trick that people have been experimenting with since the game launched, and now weve got a bit more information about how the whole thing works, so read on for everything you need to know about money trees in the game.
First the basics: you plant a money tree by finding the glowing spot on the ground that shows up once per day on the island. Dig it up to find some bells, but also a glowing hole: do not fill the hole in. Instead, go select the bells at the bottom of your inventory and pull some out. With the shovel still equipped, select the bells in your inventory and select bury in hole. Youll see a little sprout that will grow into a money tree a few days later. It will only yield one round of bells: after that it reverts to being a standard hardwood tree.
