Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Every island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons comes with several fruit trees growing on it. They will all be of the same type, but that variety is determined randomly. The starting fruit varieties are:
Regardless of what type you have, the trees will follow the same rules. You can shake the tree by pressing A, and three pieces of fruit will fall off. If you use the ax to chop a fruit tree for wood, all of the fruit will also fall off with the first swing. You can then press Y to pick up the fruit and put it in your pockets.
How Many Bells Do You Get From Money Trees
Money trees work as a means to invest your money, but the amount of bells they drop scales to how much you planted in the ground to begin with. Youll get three times the amount you plant, so putting 1000 bells in the ground will produce a tree that drops 3000 bells. This remains constant up until 10,000 bell investments , but planting any more than that and you start to be at the mercy of randomness. You could plant 99,000 bells and get the regular investment, or you could get less than you buried in the first place. For this reason, its hard to recommend putting in more 10,000 bells at a time when youre planting a money tree.
Once you harvest the bells from a tree the first time, it wont drop any more money, becoming a normal tree from that point on. Feel free to dig it up or chop it down if you want, because you wont get any more from it.

How To Plant Fruit Trees In Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Make new fruit trees on your island.
Fruit trees are an essential mechanic in Animal Crossing: New Horizons that you want to become familiar with pretty quickly. You begin the game with some fruit on your starting island, but there are others you can grow.
Whenever you have a new or old fruit in your inventory, you have the option of selling it, eating it, planting it to make more trees on your island. Before you can grow one of these trees, you do need to have access to a shovel. You can obtain one from Blathers when they arrive at your islands to help host the museum. Once the museum opens up, he gives you the recipe, which you can freely use moving forward.
Now, find a location you want to plant your new fruit tree. Once you find your ideal location, take your shovel out and dig a hole. For the next step, go into your inventory and select the fruit you want to plant at that location. You want to continue holding the shovel for this part. With your shovel in hand, you will planet the fruit tree, and you need to water and take care of it to have it grow.
Growing things in Animal Crossing is a timely process, so you need to have a little patience through this process. Dont get too carried away because theres plenty of things to do on your island, but make sure to water it every so often so it will grow faster.

Harvesting The Money Tree
After a 5 to 6 days have passed, the money tree will be fully grown and have 3 bags of Bells ready for harvesting. Every bag from the money tree will contain the same amount that was originally planted in the hole, so players will earn 3 times their initial investment. Since 10,000 Bells is the maximum amount that can be buried, 30,000 Bells is the best return that players can expect right now from a money tree.

How To Move Flowers
If you’d like to move a flower anywhere else on your island, just dig it up using a shovel. The stems will go into your inventory, and you can replant them as before. To kove trees, eat fruit and then dig them up.
You Can Get Crafting Resources From Trees
One of the most basic crafting materials in New Horizons is the tree branch. These can be found laying under trees randomly or by shaking them. There is no limit to how many branches can be harvested from a single tree, so keep shakin.
The other primary resource that can be harvested from trees is wood. There are three types of wood, and up to three pieces can be taken from a single tree at a time by chopping at it with an Axe. While a tree will be cut down if you hit it too many times with a regular Axe, a Flimsy Axe can be used to collect tree resources without knocking it down in the process.
The final resource that can be gotten by shaking a tree is a Wasp Nest. Be careful because wasps will sting you. But after they leave, you can harvest their nests to make medicine and special items.

Why Your Trees Arent Growing
If your orchard looks like mine up above you may be asking this question. The ones on the outside grew up just fine. Was it that they didnt get enough light or water? Not really. Heres the thing, trees in Animal Crossing: New Horizons can thrive with just a single space between them, as I planted these and you likely planted yours. Its the best way to harvest fruit after all. However, they wont grow unless theres a lot more empty space around them.
Two spaces from the nearest tree should be enough, though as you can tell, sometimes trees will grow with closer neighbors. And in the end, you want them to be a single space apart for a fruit orchard like this, so heres what you should do instead. Growing trees should be done somewhere with more space, then you can transplant them to the orchard, placing them a single space apart in there.
To do this you just need to eat a piece of fruit then dig the fully grown tree up. You can place it anywhere in your orchard, giving it a single space or more if you wish. But the key is to grow trees with more space, then move them together once theyre ready. And thats why your trees arent growing in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Getting Different Fruit In Animal Crossing New Horizons
When you first start New Horizons, you’ll arrive on your own private island and have a native fruit chosen at random.
There are six known fruits in New Horizons, and you’ll see them growing on certain trees across your island. To obtain it, press the A button next to a tree to shake the fruit down. Then press the Y button to pick it up.
If you want the other fruits, you’ll need to either visit a deserted island using a Nook Miles ticket, which you can purchase at Resident Services for Nook Miles, or visit a friend’s island.
You can learn more about visiting a friend’s island in our Animal Crossing: New Horizonsonline guide.
Catching Insects And Fish
The easiest and perhaps most obvious way to make some nice Bells are to catch and sell insects and fish. Bug catching and fishing are both fairly straightforward, but we have some tips that might help you out.
If you run out of pocket space and cant make it over to the store quickly, you should drop any bugs or fish that arent worth much.
Sea Bass, Dabs, and Horse Mackerels are all low-value fish if you are ocean fishing. Instead, fill your pockets with Barred Knifejaws and Red Snappers for maximum profits. If you are having a tough time catching fish, dig up Manilla Clams on the beach and turn them into fish bait!
As far as insects go, fill your pockets with Emperor Butterflies, Peacock Butterflies, Tarantulas, and Tiger Beetles. These insects are not available year-round, so be sure to keep an eye out for high-value fish and insects when you go to sell them.
When you go to sell your insects and fish, look out for two people in particular. Flick and CJ will buy your fish and insects from you for 50% more than the others. Both these vendors seem pretty rare, though.
Move Your Money Tree To A Safe Location
The glowing money spot appears on your island each day, but its not always in an ideal location. Often, it will be positioned too close to other trees or objects to grow properly. The money tree typically needs at least one or two open spaces on all sides in order to flourish. To move your investment, simply take out your shovel and dig it up. Then, head to a new spot, open your inventory, and plant the sapling. Theres no penalty for doing this, so feel free to move it as often as needed until you find the best location.

Animal Crossing New Horizons: How To Plant Money Trees
A guide on how to grow the profitable money trees in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and how it is different than it was in previous games.
One of the biggest reasons for playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the ability to collect bells. Nothing is more relieving than selling all the extra items from a player’s pockets and receiving those sweet bells to buy more items. These come in handy when designing players’ homes, excavating the layout of the island, or even buying a cute outfit from the Able sisters. But getting bells can prove to be a little bit of a grind. That’s where money trees come in.
Although there is a new currency called Nook Miles, bells are still essential to the game. Bells are used to purchase basic needs things, whereas Nook Miles are for games and exclusive in-game items. Additionally, players are given something that most people dream of: a chance to literally grow money on trees.
Nothing is more of a blessing than leaving the house and seeing bags of cash just hanging for players to pick. The best part is that growing money trees in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a fairly simple process. Although there is only a short-term payout for money trees, that short-term can help players reach exactly however much they need to make that last important island modification.

How To Get Bamboo Trees
There is one type of special tree. The bamboo plant can be found on mystery islands and can be harvested like other trees. You can transplant them and place them on your island, or you can harvest their fruit and replant those. Unlike other fruit bearing trees in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, bamboo plants produce their fruit underground. You can dig them up by looking for the telltale X that marks the spot in the area underneath the plant. When hit with an axe, bamboo plants create two resources: bamboo pieces and young spring bamboo. These resources can be used to craft items.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons: Tips
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a game all about kicking back, hanging with your friends and exploring an island youve decided to start a new life on, and it couldnt have come at a better time. The series has been known to sneak in plenty of extra features and ways to get things done and since the game doesnt always outwardly explain some of these tricks, we decided to put our heads together to round up a few tips that could make your life on the island bit more fruitful, if you will. Most of these tips will be covering earlier parts of the game to keep it as spoiler-free as possible as well.
Dig A Hole And Place The Fruit
Digging a hole is as simple as it comes. Just have the shovel equipped and press A on any game. Now, to throw the fruit in, you go to the menu, click on the fruit, and select the “Bury” option. Your character will automatically throw the fruit in and stamp dirt on top of it.

Growing Trees Is Easy
If you want to grow a Fruit Tree, youll have to bury a piece of fruit in a hole with your shovel. If you want to grow an Oak Tree or Cedar Tree, youll have to plant a sapling, which can be purchased from Nooks Cranny or occasionally discovered in the recycling box at Resident Services.
Trees must have at least one empty block of space around them in all directions in order to grow. If you plant a sapling in a wrong spot, you can move it by digging it up with your shovel.
Planted saplings take three days to grow into a full-sized tree and four days to bear fruit. After the fruit is picked, more will grow back in another three days.
