How To Make Coffee In Animal Crossing New Leaf

Coffee Ordering And What We Know About Making Friends With Brewster In Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Making Coffee at Brewster’s

At the time of writing, the cafe has yet to be unlocked through regular play. That means, from here, we have to speculate on what to expect from New Horizon’s take on Brewster’s cafe, The Rooster.

So what do we know from previous games? It’s likely that – over time – you can make friends with Brewster by visiting the cafe regularly.

In previous games, you can only purchase one cup of coffee from the cafe each day for 200 Bells. Upon accepting, you must drink it hot in order to not offend Brewster.

Buying one coffee each day, and drinking it hot, will increase your relationship with Brewster. Doing this will likely open up more coffee orders or interactions with Brewster.

What features are in New Horizons is unknown, but based on previous entries in the series, there has been the following possibilities:

  • The offer of unique drinks alongside a standard coffee
  • Having coffee to take away
  • Being given a part time job in The Roost, where you must take orders of Villagers who come into visit, as seen in New Leaf:

It’s likely the more elaborate unlocks – such as the part time job – are not in New Horizons based on the announcement ahead of the 2.0 update, but going by previous games, the option of other drinks and building a relationship with Brewster is likely.

We’ll update this section when more specifics are confirmed.

In Gekijban Doubutsu No Mori

Gekijban Doubutsu no Mori

The Roost makes a minor appearance in Gekijban Doubutsu no Mori and is based on its appearance in Animal Crossing: Wild World. The café is first seen when Ai visits The Roost to look for Apollo. While she is there, she meets Cesar and Cyrano, who are drinking coffee at the table. Later, after moves away from Animal Village, Ai, who is grieving Margie’s moving, returns to The Roost and orders a coffee she is consoled by Whitney.

Can I Get Coffee With Friends

Yes! You can’t typically sit at the group tables in The Roost unless you’re bringing along your friends. When you’ve got visitors at your island, the group can sit down for coffee. Brewster will serve you from behind the bar, with a few different options for how to pay: One person can grab the whole check, or you can divide things up individually.

Twitter users quickly found out the hard way that if your friends don’t pay for you, and you don’t have money, you’ll simply get water at The Roost. Hey, at least it’s something!

Animal Crossing’s Brewster is finally making his way to New Horizons as part of the 2.0 update.

One of the most requested additions to the game since its debut in March 2020, Brewster and his cafe The Roost allows you to relax and enjoy a coffee with both friends.

Unlike previous games in the series, the cafe is not a standalone location, and instead will be part of the museum.

Once you get the cafe, you can spend some quality time with other villagers here – both those who are already on your island, and to invite others with amiibo support – and make friends with Brewster over time.

How Do I Unlock The Cafe And Brewster

Animal Crossing: New Leaf

There are actually a few steps to unlocking Brewster.

First, you must be the island’s Resident Representative. Here’s how Nintendo defines that role:

The Resident Representative is the first player to start the Animal Crossing: New Horizons game on your Nintendo Switch system and move to a new island. When playing with multiple residents on a single island, only the Resident Representative can complete certain tasks to reach some milestones.

Then you’ll need to visit Blathers in the museum. Upon your first visit after installing the 2.0 update, Blathers will have a thought bubble over his head. Upon talking to him, he’ll say he wants to figure out a way to get more visitors to the museum, and he’d like to add a cafe. Unfortunately, his old pal Brewster, who used to run coffee shop, closed his shop and disappeared. Blathers asks you to track down Brewster, and his only tip for you is that he enjoys gyroids.

An island tour with Kapp’n

Gyroids haven’t started appearing on your island yet, but the island’s new attraction offers a clue: Kapp’n’s boat tours. Isabelle first mentions these in her announcements when you load the game, but you’ll need to head to the previously vacant dock to find Kapp’n.

Kapp’n will take you to an uninhabited island tour once a day in exchange for 1,000 Nook Miles. Buy your first ticket, and then you’re off!

How To Unlock Brewster’s Cafe And Where To Find Brewster In Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Brewster and his cafe, The Roost, will appear on the island as part of the museum, and as with other attractions, will need to be unlocked first.

To unlock Brewster in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you must first visit Blathers in the museum. He will mention the idea of adding a cafe – but that his friend, Brewster, is currently nowhere to be found. He does, however, hint that he loves Gyroids.

If Blathers doesn’t mention Brewster, then it’s likely you need to open up more of your museum. According to catalyst_veritas and other users on reddit, those who haven’t dived and donated one sea creature, then doing that, then leaving and returning to the museum, should do the trick.

To find Brewster in Animal Crossing, you must go on a Kapp’n boat tour – which is where you will find Gyroids. Kapp’n tours are another new feature in the 2.0 update. Head to your island’s pier where Kapp’n will be waiting, and after paying some Nook Miles, will take you to an island.

It’s on a Kapp’n island you will find Brewster wondering around. If you didn’t speak to Blathers in the museum first, Brewster won’t appear on the island. Since you can only use a Kapp’n tour once per day, it’s important you do so first to find Brewster as soon as possible.

Talk to Brewster – we imagine any dialogue choices will work here, but we picked ‘I’m looking for you’ and ‘Blathers sent me to…’ – and after some Gyroids advice, he will then be ‘seeing you’.

Fun For All Ages Even Adults

I have been an Animal Crossing fan since I was 15. The first one I ever played was Animal Crossing: Wild World for the original Nintendo DS. I played that game every day over Christmas break when it first came out. And I enjoyed it for about 6 years after that. After my husband bought me a Nintendo 3DS for my birthday, my gaming tasted had changed. So I gave my old DS and Animal Crossing to my little brother. So even after all these years, it’s still being enjoyed. But when New Leaf was released, I just felt like I had to give it a try. Even though I was sure I was too old to get any kind of enjoyment out of it. I was wrong, in thinking that I was too old for it. Even though it is a little slow paced for me I still enjoyed it. It’s fun to play after work to wind down after a hard day. The tasks are simple but not so easy that it doesn’t make you do a little bit of work. The mini games are a blast, and I still have a lot more to unlock. I absolutely love it. I think I will be holding on to this one, even longer than I held on to the last one. But my favorite part? It’s fun for a 22 year old woman, like me, but I can also let my 5 year old niece play when she comes to visit. It’s fun for everyone! Even my husband has been wanting to play it! 🙂

Speak To Kapp’n At The Pier

After speaking to Blathers, head to your island’s pier to see Kapp’n, another newly introduced character in the 2.0 update. Kapp’n runs a boat tour that will ferry you to new kinds of uncharted islands that you can’t reach with the standard Nook Miles island tour, and he’s the key to tracking down Brewster. Embark on a tour and you’ll be taken to a small island.

One important thing to keep in mind is that Kapp’n can take you on only one island tour per day, so you need to speak to Blathers first if you’re hoping to unlock Brewster’s cafe quickly. If you embark on one of Kapp’n’s tours before you agree to help Blathers find Brewster, you’ll need to wait until the following day to track Brewster down.

Looking Better Than Ever

Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Day 34: Coffee Maker

Decorating inside is also a more satisfying experience than it’s ever been thanks to a new streamlined mode which can be activated in your home. It gives you freedom to rotate and move things around without your avatar getting involved, making the whole thing faster and easier.

Generally, if you’re the kind of person who has minimal interest in interior decoration, in a game like Animal Crossing you will have a penchant for perfecting your appearance. New Horizons has taken that aspect of play to new levels too. Look back and laugh at the days when you had to answer questions to generate a look for yourself like some kind of half-arsed sorting hat quiz. Now, from the very beginning, you have some control over what your character will look like with a good range of options.

As you get further into the game, you’ll be able to approach a mirror or vanity and change up your look as you please which only becomes more enjoyable as you unlock more styles.

It’s not surprising given it’s on Nintendo’s most up-to-date console but this is truly the best-looking Animal Crossing game there’s been. The textures and details, the lighting, the animationseverything is sharp, smooth, colorful and a big improvement on previous releases. Seriously, open up New Leaf to check and you’ll probably receive the same shock as us.

How Do You Find Brewster And Unlock The Roost Cafe In Animal Crossing: New Horizons

To unlock The Roost cafe at the museum and add Brewster to your island, you first have to satisfy a few requirements.

  • Have a fully upgraded museum with an art gallery
  • Have donated at least one of each of the four categories of collection
  • Dataminers have also suggested that you could need at least a 3-star island to access the feature too

3 star importance it seems like most of these you need 3 star island to initiate so if anything isn’t working out even after trying these things. did you get to 3 starts? did you unlock KK/terraforming? if no, then do that first!

Once you’ve satisfied all of those prerequisites, speak to Blathers, and he’ll mention that he wants to draw more visitors to the museum by adding a cafe. For that, you need to track down an old friend of his, returning special villager, Brewster – the barista pigeon.

To help you track down Brewster, Blathers gives you a picture of everyone’s favorite avian coffee aficionado.

Next, with the picture in hand, track down Kapp’n on your island’s pier. Travel with him to an unexplored island, and you should find Brewster wandering around looking for Gyroids.

It’s possible to head out to a Kapp’n island before speaking to Blathers properly and using up your daily trip. If this happens, you will have to wait until the next day to go on another boat ride with Kapp’n to find Brewster.

How Do I Invite Other Characters To The Roost

You can invite characters to join you at The Roost by using amiibo or amiibo cards. Head over to the yellow phone on the left-hand side of the cafe and use it, which is where you’ll have the option to scan in your favorite characters. Depending on who you invite, different folks may show up. For instance, if you invite Joan, she’ll bring along Daisy Mae the lil one is not old enough to drink coffee, so Brewster will serve her a cookie. If you invite one of the Able Sisters, they could bring along the rest of the family.

Sometimes, folks on your island will stop by for some coffee, like Isabelle or Tom Nook.

The first step is to head to the museum, and you’ll see there’s no sign of the cafe – it hasn’t just appeared. When you talk to Blathers, however, he discusses the need to attract more visitors to the museum, and to do this he wants to ask his old buddy Brewster to open up his coffee shop.
