How To Get The Golden Slingshot

How To Pop Balloons In Animal Crossing New Horizons

There is one other type of balloon, and it’s ultra-rare. This golden balloon contains a special DIY recipe for a golden slingshot. It’s one of several golden tools you can acquire in the game, and while it still breaks, it lasts a lot longer than your average slingshot.

It appears that the golden balloon doesn’t appear until after you’ve popped over 300 other balloons. Once you unlock that Nook Miles reward, keep your eyes on the skies! We recommend looking for the golden balloon as soon as you hit the 300 balloon milestone, so read on for details on how to find and farm balloons.

How To Farm Balloons

Because balloons are a main source for seasonal DIY recipes and other handy items, there are times when you might want to grind out balloons until you get what you want. If you follow the spawn rules above, it’s easy to do as long as you’re patient.

After you’ve determined which direction balloons spawn from on your island, we recommend waiting at the bottom of your beach until a time ending in 4 or 9. At this point, you should walk up the shore with the sky visible and look for a balloon over the ocean. If you still don’t see one when you reach the top of the beach, walk back down the shore and check as you go. If no balloon has shown up after a minute, wait a few minutes and check again at the spawn time.

If you’re having trouble spotting balloons, try adjusting your camera using the right analog stick so you can get a better view of the sky. You’ll have to stop walking in order to view the sky this way, as your camera will reorient itself when you move, but it can be a good way to spot balloons that you can hear but can’t see.

Types Of Balloon Gifts And Balloon Color

In previous Animal Crossing games, balloon gifts only contained special balloon-themed items. In New Horizons, however, balloons can contain all sorts of items, including:

  • Furniture
  • Bags of bells
  • DIY recipes

There are four colors of regular balloons: red, yellow, green, and blue. You may have heard that the color of the balloon determines what’s in its gift–that yellow balloons always contain bells, for example–but that’s not true, at least with the normal balloons. While we can’t be sure that it’s completely random, it’s absolutely possible to get furniture from a yellow balloon instead of bells , and you shouldn’t ignore certain colors if you’re hoping to get a specific type of item.

There are some event balloons, however, like the striped Bunny Day balloons you may have seen at the beginning of April, that only contain event-related items. In this case, it’s fair to assume that color determines what’s in the gift!

How To Get Balloon Presents In Animal Crossing New Horizons

Seen the floating balloons in the sky, wandering if you can shoot them down? This guide on How To Get Balloon Presents In Animal Crossing New Horizons tells you everything you need to know to shoot down the floating present boxes and burst those balloons.

When you are exploring your island you will sometimes see balloons floating in the sky above and attached, a wonderful present box. These boxes do not land, and will continue to float across the landscape until they go out of view. If you leave the game, enter a building, or otherwise travel to another location, they will vanish and not be there when you return. As such, you will need the appropriate tools with you at all times if you hope to pop the balloons and get the present.

How to Make Animal Crossing Balloon Presents Cake Pops

In New Leaf, presents can be caught by a net or shovel near the beach, once the balloon flies low enough. When shot down, they will contain items from the Balloon Series. They can also contain the Balloon Hat. They fly lower than in previous games and may fly to the south for a period of time if their path is obstructed by a building. Like in Wild World, they appear when the current time ends in a “4” . Balloons spawn at alternating sides of the town , and take approximately five minutes to cross the town.

The silver and golden slingshots can be obtained once 16 presents have been shot down. The silver slingshot can be obtained more than once, however the golden slingshot cannot.

Balloons also appear during Bunny Day, and contain sky eggs. The eggs can be opened and contain either a prize ticket, a grand prize ticket or candy. Prize tickets can be taken to Zipper T. Bunny for pieces of Egg Series furniture, while grand prize tickets can be exchanged for Zipper’s picture.

The player can earn bronze, silver and gold badges from Phineas for shooting 30, 100 and 200 balloons respectively. Balloons shot during Bunny Day do not count towards this total.

In the Welcome amiibo update, once all items in the Balloon Series are obtained, balloons can carry standard furniture items. Before, the only items found in balloons were the Balloon Series and Balloon Hat.

How To Pop Balloons

Once you spot a balloon floating through your island, switch over to your slingshot as fast as possible. You can either open your inventory, navigate over to the slingshot an equip it, use the left and right directional buttons to roll through your tools, or purchase the Tool Ring from the ATM using Nook Miles which will give you a customizable tool ring to speed things up.

After you have your slingshot out, try to figure out which direction the balloon is floating in. Then move about where you see its shadow on the ground and a little bit ahead of where its going. Now hold down the B button and get ready to release it when the balloon is in your sights.

Be careful about where you pop the balloon. If its over water, youll have to pay the ATM some Nook Miles to retrieve it for you.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Balloon Conclusions

So, after wearing out our slingshot, we can now say the following:

  • Yellow Balloons are likely to give you bells
  • Blue has the chance to drop resources
  • Green appears to have no clear prioritisation
  • Red appears to favour Furniture, although more data is needed

Before we started this guide we had plenty of ideas as to which balloons dropped which items. Was it based on their color? The cost of the item? The time of day it dropped? As you can see above, none of that really seems to be the case, although we still have theories we’d like to test. For example, one thing we’re curious about is if its possible that green or red balloons possibly give you new items that youve never had in your possession before .

Rest assured we’ll update this guide with any new information as it surfaces, or falls from the sky. In the meantime, happy balloon hunting!

How To Make A Slingshot

Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Day 74: Popping The Balloons ...

The sling, also called a slingshot, is very easy to make, and you only need the recipe that you win in Tom Nook’s DIY classes, that is, when starting the game. You need five woods and a craft boat, preferably the one located in resident services, because it has more articles.

Use the slingshot recipe and in a few seconds you will have your tool to obtain gifts.

Balloon Basics: How To Pop Balloons

As you go about your business you may see a balloon floating by–or you might hear it first, since balloons have a windy sort of sound to them. When you encounter a balloon, pull out your slingshot–which you can craft yourself or buy at Nook’s Cranny–line yourself up underneath the balloon, and shoot. If your aim is correct, the balloon will pop and the gift will fall to the ground.

Be careful about where you shoot balloons, though. If you pop a balloon while it’s floating over water, you run the risk of the gift falling into the water and disappearing. The gift can also disappear if it falls in a patch of flowers or weeds that’s too big for it to safely bounce out of–there needs to be at least one free space in the vicinity for it to land in, including spaces covered in paths so long as they don’t have any furniture or other items on them.

Animal Crossing New Horizons: How To Get Pop The Floating Balloon Presents To Get A Gift

You might have moved to a deserted island, but one thing hasn’t changed in Animal Crossing New Horizons: some weirdo is still using balloons to create floating balloon presents.

What the mysterious balloon benefactor gets out of this has always been unclear. Perhaps they’re a god of floating presents. Perhaps they’re just a bit strange and get a kick out of it. But every now and then on your island, you might notice a shadow of a present, or see one in the sky. You might even hear the telltale noise of the wind whipping around something. Look up to the sky and– is it a bird? Is it a plane? No! It’s a Digital Alarm Clock. Okay then.

When And Where Balloons Spawn

If you’re wondering how to get balloons to your island, we haven’t yet tested any methods to force spawn conditions for them the way players do when they farm tarantulas. Luckily, it’s pretty simple to determine when a balloon will appear, so you won’t have to spend all your time looking upward if you’re trying to get balloon gifts. You just have to know the spawn rules.

First, balloons always spawn from the edge of the screen and will come in from over the ocean. Depending on the orientation of your island, they’ll come in from one direction during the day and the other direction at night . For example, my island is left-oriented–the pier is on the left side of my island–so balloons spawn from right to left in the morning and from left to right at night. It seems to be the reverse for island layouts in which the pier is on the right side, but if you aren’t sure, just keep an eye out for a balloon and see which direction it’s headed.

Second, balloons only spawn at certain times–specifically any time ending in either 0 or 5. . In our tests, balloons spawned every 10 minutes on average, but we saw gaps as low as five minutes and as high as 20 minutes. For example, during an hour of our tests, we found balloons at 2:55, 3:00, 3:05, 3:25, 3:40, and 4:00 PM.

TIPS On Getting Presents FAST! Animal Crossing: New Horizons Pop Balloon

Were not sure why is this case as balloon hunting and racing to recover the prize could be a fun activity for you and your friends, but Nintendo presumably has its reasons. Perhaps we can expect balloon competitions in a future update.

Catching A Balloon Present With A Net Or Shovel

If the player does not have a slingshot, there’s still a way to knock the presents down from balloons. First, the player should find a balloon. If it’s drifting towards a cliff they are in luck. Wait for the balloon to reach the cliff.

As it passes the cliff, the balloon will lower. The player should get within range of it with a net or shovel out, and use the net or shovel as if they were hitting a villager. The balloon should pop, and the present will drop to the beach below. If the player misses, they will have a moment or two to try again.

This strategy will not always work, as the balloon may be heading in the direction away from the cliff. If so, the player will have to wait and try again with a balloon heading the other way.

After you pop a balloon with a present and not a slingshot attached then you can pick it up and open it but when you do you get either a piece of the balloon set or a random piece of furniture. You may even get one of the silver or golden slingshot. What is inside balloons? There is a set of balloon furniture that will come from the balloons, and once all of the balloon furniture has been obtained, you can begin collecting random furniture from balloons. There are 16 pieces of furniture in the balloon set, including the balloon hat.

What Are Animal Crossing Balloons

Animal Crossing balloons are gifts you will see floating around the island. These can contain a wide variety of objects, although the most common are furniture. And since furniture costs money, getting it for free is always a great option.

In this sense, you will be interested to know how to grab gifts in Animal Crossing, because they are very easy to win, at least most of the time. As if that were not enough, simply having to go from one place to another looking for gifts is already a very fun activity in itself.
