How To Start Over In Animal Crossing

Practice Terraforming Before Attempting

Starting All OVER… on Animal Crossing New Horizons

Terraforming can be confusing and painstaking, but once you get the hang of it, it will feel like muscle memory. Knowing how to build double waterfalls and make curves in cliffs opens up a world of possibilities for creativity.

Remember that what fish you can catch depends on the bodies of water present on your island: some fish are only in clifftop rivers, where others are only in ponds. If you’re trying to catch every fish, make sure to include these rivers and ponds in your design.

Always bring a ladder with you, and don’t be afraid to call Resetti if you’re in a tight spot.

Enact The Bell Boom Ordinance

The best way to boost your Bell count is by enacting the Bell Bloom Ordinance. After getting your approval rating to 100% and unlock the development permit, you’ll be able to do this.

Talk to Isabelle at your desk in Town Hall. Under the Ordinances menu, choose “A rich town.” This will boost the selling price of all items at the Re-Tail Shop. Enacting this ordinance costs 20,000 Bells, but you’ll make more money in the long run.

Uh, back in WW demolishing your town would erase your character along with the town. Erasing ALL data will obviously do what it says on the tin, and delete streetpass data, DLC, etc. SO you might want to try demolishing first. It’s not a flaw, it’s a feature! -Literally every fanboy, ever.3DS FC: 0919-9994-9334. Whether you want to let someone else start a new island on your Switch, youre not happy with your opening villagers, or you just want to start from the beginning, youll need to know how to reset Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Before you do so, however, its worth noting that this will entirely remove your current island and villager. Starting Over! | Animal Crossing New Horizons Playthrough | Part/Day 1

Its entirely possible to restart an island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons . The process to delete, save data and reset the island is pretty straightforward. However, players should be aware that the decision is permanent. Once an island is deleted in New Horizons, its gone for good.

There are two types of save slots in Animal Crossing: New Horizons: island owners and island residents. The island owner is the character that initially created the island. Players cant ever delete these characters. However, island residents, characters that moved to the island after it was created, can be deleted by:

    • Opening Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
    • Press Minus to open the menu.
    • Press Minus a second time to open the Save Data menu.
    • Highlight Delete Resident Registration.
    • Press A and confirm the deletion.

The above steps will remove an island resident and all their possessions from the game. The island itself will remain as is, minus the deleted residents presence.

The island itself cant be restart inside the game. To reset the island in New Horizons, players must delete the save via the Switchs Home menu. To do so:

    • Boot to the Nintendo Switchs main menu.

Your Town Layout Isn’t That Important

When starting the game, you’ll be asked to pick your town layout from some mapped options. The thing is, this layout doesn’t have a huge affect on your experience. They all have the standard beaches, rivers, and trees.

On the other hand, having the bridge located more towards the center of your town could prove to be useful as it’s easier to reach things without having to traverse through your entire town, with butterflies being the prime example. Ultimately, just pick a layout that looks interesting to you. What you do in town is more important than how it’s designed.

    Getting Started On Your Island

Timmy and Tommy, two non-player characters introduced when you first start the game, will help you set up your island. Youll be prompted to create your character, choose a hemisphere that will impact the starting season in your game, and choose a randomly generated map. None of these selections matter beyond personal preference.

Once you make it to your island, youll meet two animal residents that will join you. Additionally, your island will have a random native fruit.

Youll begin by placing your campsite as well as the campsite locations of your residents. Pick carefully because you wont be able to make changes to this until later on in the game.

Once youve placed the tents, Tom Nook, the manager of the company running the in-game business, will ask for your help in finding resources to start a campfiretree branches can be found lying on the ground and fruit can be shaken from the trees.

Once you turn these items in to Tom Nook, a little ceremony will begin, where youll be prompted to name the island. Youll be crowned as the new Resident Representative of your new Island.

After a little celebration around the campfire, he recommends you take a nap in your tent. Once you wake up, the real game begins!

Once awake, Tom Nook will call from outside your tent and youll be prompted that real-time has begun on the island, meaning it will be daytime if it is currently daytime where you live.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons completed a year in the gaming fraternity in March this year. While there are many updates to look forward to, those initial days of building an island from scratch are extraordinary.

From setting foot on a new island, transforming Resident Services from a tent to a building, meeting villagers for the first time, and helping Tom Nook upgrade the island facilities, each extra activity brought a fresh layer of excitement and amusement.

Earning Bells To Repay The Island Getaway Package Debt

There will be several loans to pay to dear old Tom Nook as you progress through Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The first loan that you must repay is the Island Getaway Package.

To pay off your debt, youll need 49,800 Bells, or 5,000 Nook Miles. Bells are the Animal Crossing currency, and youll need a lot of them to do any upgrades in the game: your home, resident homes, decorative items, new recipes, etc. Nook Miles are explained in more detail below.

The easiest way to earn bells early in the game is selling fish and bugs that you catch to Timmy in the Resident Services tent. Hell buy just about anything, including weeds and fruit on your island.

    Work On Your Nook Miles

DELETING MY ISLAND and Starting Over!!! Animal Crossing New Horizons

As Tom Nook said at the beginning of your game, Nook Miles is an alternative currency used to upgrade the first installment of your house and to exchange for items in the Nook Stop kiosk such as furniture, a bigger inventory, and several DIY recipes.

Nook Miles is a currency that is new to the Animal Crossing series. Think of Nook Miles as a rewards program that encourages you to progress through the gamethere are several Nook Miles challenges to complete the longer you play.

You can shake trees to gather fruits, money, and rare furniture drops. You can sell weeds that you pick up to Timmy for bells, and when youve sold enough, you will earn Nook Miles.

After you turn in 5,000 Nook Miles to Tom Nook to settle your Island Getaway Package Debt, you will unlock the Nook Miles+ Club app on your Nook Phone. The Nook Miles+ Club app is an even bigger challenge and reward program that will generate five new tasks to be completed each day.

Youll receive new titles in your passport with each unlock, and a few points will be added to your total.

Also, by accessing the Nook Stop daily, you will receive a free Nook Miles bonus. Be sure to click on the Nook Stop kiosk inside the Resident Services tent daily.

    Fill And Empty Your Pockets

The easiest way to make money is to start pocketing items. You can pluck flowers or shake trees for fruit, but the aforementioned shovel, fishing pole, net, and wetsuit are key here. Using these, you can add fossils, fish, insects, and sea creatures to your inventory.

With your pockets full, head to the Re-Tail shop in your town. Here, you can sell any item in your inventory. They offer prices different from the Nook brothers’ store, so be sure to check which outlet give you the best prices when selling your items. Check the sign out front to see what the day’s special item is: if you can sell it, you’ll earn far more Bells.

The Benefits Of Deleting An Animal Crossing: New Horizons Save File

Sometimes, the reason to reset is simply that a player has run out of things to do. With a home fully upgraded, collections completed, and the island filled with the perfect cast of residents, a player may feel they have done everything in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Rather than finding another way to redesign the island, starting a fresh new game could provide needed excitement, sending the player to embark again on a journey to upgrade their home, expand their town, and reexperience the joy of Animal Crossing.

If a player decides it’s time to hit the delete button, they may want to consider asking a trusted friend to hold onto theirAnimal Crossing special event items, as they may not be able to find them again in the future. This way, they can reset their island and still return these special items to the storage of their new Nook tent or use them to beautify their new town. Animal Crossing: New Horizons has never been about the destination – instead, it’s about the journey. Because of this, resetting the game may give players a chance to take a new path and forge new relationships on their island home.
