Everything You Need To Knwo About How To Use Amiibos In Happy Home Paradise
With the new paid Happy Home Paradise DLC for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, players are able to create villagers dream homes for vacation. This includes randomly selected villagers from all of New Horizons, but what if you want a specific character to come to visit? Well, heres how to use Amiibos in Happy Home Paradise.
What Can You Do At Harvey’s Island Villager Photopia
If you’ve played Animal Crossing: New Leaf, you might recall a hippy dog named Harvey as one of the particular villagers. After a few days of playing in New Horizons, this dog will randomly appear on your island. Make sure you talk to him, and he’ll invite you to visit his island home. The awesome thing is that the airport allows you to fly to him for free. No Nook Miles Tickets required.
Instead of foraging for materials, bugs, and fish, Harvey’s island only lets you walk into Harvey’s house. Once inside, you’ll be able to set up a scene in one of his rooms and take pictures with your favorite villagers. That is, as long as you have that villager on your island or have a corresponding amiibo to invite them with. You can place different furniture, change the lighting in the room, and position your favorite Animal Crossing villagers in various locations before taking pictures with them. You can have up to 10 animal villagers in one room at a time.
However, it should be noted that not every amiibo works with New Horizons. So far, the game has warned me that Digby and Resetti can’t be invited to Photopia. This had also been the case for Reese, Cyrus, and Rover up until another update arrived. I’m guessing that any amiibo figures that currently don’t work with New Horizons will be usable once future updates are released.

How To Unlock The Campground
The Campground is an area you can create that will allow you to receive visiting villagers on your island, where you can then begin to convince them to stay and live in your town – or you can simply talk and trade with them.
To build the Campground, you must have first upgraded the Resident Services Tent into a proper building . Once completed, Tom Nook will have an assignment to increase your towns popularity to catch a certain someones attention. The first step towards this, will be building a Campground.
You will need to build the Campground Construction Kit, which requires 15 of each type of wood, as well as 15 Iron Nuggets, and then place the kit down in an area youd like to designate as a campground.
The next day, a random villager will likely appear in the Campground . Whichever villager, you will have no choice but to invite them into your town. After that, villagers may appear at the Campground at any time, but can also be summoned using Amiibo Cards at the Resident Services Terminal.

Setting Up Photo Shoots With Amiibo Models On Harvey’s Island
Which amiibo can you invite to photo shoots on Harv’s Island? Most of the general and “Welcome Amiibo” Animal Crossing-specific cards and figures can be invited to your photo shoots – with the following exceptions :
- Non-Animal Crossing-specific amiibo
- Villager from Smash
- Sanrio “Welcome Amiibo” cards
- Some special character figures and cards
How many amiibo can you invite at once to a photo shoot? Feel free to scan up to 10 of your amiibo into the picture party!
What can you do with the amiibo once they’ve arrived at the shoot? Although we have yet to set up many photo shoots, it’s clear there is a lot of creative freedom here. From dressing up the characters, to positioning them on sets, to giving them emotions, we’re sure we’ll see some fantastic photos from players in the future. Unfortunately, these models are essentially ghosts of their characters, and cannot be interacted with directly by your player.
From Harv’s Island, you can also unlock posters of each of the scannable amiibo – even some of those characters who can’t come to the shoots – and purchase them for display in your home. And let us tell you – the designs are awesome, we want them all.
Inviting Campsite Visitors To Live On Your Island
So – once you’ve got your favourite villager camping on your island, how do you convince them to move in? This is where your patience will truly be put to the test. With any of the amiibo characters you scan to your campsite, it will take three separate tries – a minimum of three days in the game – to get them to move in.
And that’s not all it takes. On each of those days, you’ll need to follow multiple steps to get to the point of asking them to move in – be prepared to get turned down on the first two tries.
Each day, the process is similar: begin by speaking to the villager a couple of times until you trigger their request to craft them an item. The bonus here is that you’ll get a new recipe each time .
Craft the item they want before the day is through, as they’ll move out the very next day. Give them their item, and then talk to them a few more times – eventually, you’ll get the opportunity to ask them to move in. Again, the first two days you ask them to move, they’ll decline – but they’ll also allude to the fact that they would like to continue visiting.
Finally, on the third day of furniture-making servitude and humble begging, they’ll accept your invitation to move in. We recommend ensuring you purchase a lot from Tom Nook and set it up for their arrival prior to this exchange, to ensure they have a place to move in.

Learn How To Unlock The Campsite
The campsite permits random villagers to look in your island, which supplies you the choice of inviting them to reside their as pemanent residents. You probably have amiibo playing cards, you should use them to ask particular villagers to your campsite. To be extra exact, the character depicted on the cardboard will get invited to your island.
Word: You may solely use Animal Crossing amiibo playing cards right here. Not one of the characters which were become amiibo collectible figurines could be invited to the campsite.
Convincing The Amiibo Visitor To Move To Your Island
Asking the amiibo character to visit your island once wont convince them to move. Instead, you must invite them to the campsite several times and complete numerous DIY recipe requests in order to finally convince them to move in.
The visitor will ask for several DIY recipes, which is great because you can potentially add more DIY recipes to your collection! If they request a DIY recipe that you dont have unlocked, dont fretthey will give you the recipe for free.
You have until the next morning to give the visitor the DIY recipe theyve requested. After youve made the DIY recipe, return to the campsite and hand it over.
The visitor will thank and reward you with a gift. If you talk to them more, you might be able to ask them to move in. However, they will not accept an invitation to your island unless youve invited them to the campsite several timesthis could take anywhere between two and three days.
The amiibo character will leave the next morning, but you can invite them back as many times as you like. After a few days of inviting the amiibo character to your website and fulfilling their crafting requests, they will be ready to speak to Resident Services.
Once theyve accepted your invitation, the amiibo character will move to your island. If you have open land available, they will begin moving the very next day. However, if your island is full, you can choose which resident on your island youd like to replace the amiibo character with.

How To Use Amiibo To Invite New Villagers To Move In Animal Crossing: New Horizons
The most enticing Animal Crossing amiibo functionality is to invite your favorite villagers to live on your island! With a few steps, you can have any non-special character move in, with some added benefits included compared to normal means.
The process is as follows:
- Head to Resident Services, and pay a visit to the Nook Stop Terminal
- Choose Invite Camper and tap your villagers amiibo card as instructed
- Head to the Campsite, say hello to your guest, and talk with them until they ask you for a favor to give them a DIY furniture item.
- Once delivered, they may mention potentially moving to your island! Sadly, for now, youll have to wait.
- Repeat the above process for three days after the third visit and present, theyll be set to move in!
While being able to pick and choose your villagers is a dream come true for some, its a long process without time travel. It does have one other, excellent benefit though. Unlike campers that come by randomly, if you ask an amiibo camper to move in you can choose who will leave your island. For those after total control of their denizens, or who just cant stand someones look clashing with their theme, this is an incredible bonus!
Four Construct Further Properties In Your Island
Now it is time to speak to Tom Nook at Resident Providers. Because youre inviting much more villagers to your island, this loaded raccoon will let you know that extra homes should be constructed to accommodate everybody. Hell then offer you a housing equipment and can ask you to choose a location for this new dwelling. Run round your island and choose the right place in your new villager to reside. You may want to attend till the next day for this new home to point out up in your island.

Invite Them To Live On Your Island
The third time you’ve fulfilled the camper’s request, they’ll tell you they’d like to move to your island. If you already have 10 villagers — the maximum number the game allows — you’ll need to select one of your current neighbors to boot before the new character can move in. Your old neighbor will be gone the following day, with the new villager taking up residence in their plot.
Keep in mind that this process only works with villager characters you cannot invite special characters, such as K.K. Slider, to live on your island, although you can invite them for photoshoots. More on that below.
How To Use Amiibo
The first way to use these old Animal Crossing amiibo is to talk to Harv. Who is Harv? He is a random villager who will show up from time to time and reside with Resident Services. Whoever shows up here is usually an important part of the game, which is also true for this guy as he is one of the best ways to use your amiibo figures and cards.
Speak with him and he will tell you about Harv Island, accessible at any time from Dodo Airlines. Just head over to the island and youll discover Photopia, where Harv will take photos of you with one of your amiibo characters. At least its kind of them. Theyre not really there, but you get a cool picture out of them. Youll see what I mean when you try it, and all photos can be purchased as posters in the Nooks.
The next way to use amiibo involves camping, a throwback feature from previous games. This unlocks as soon as you upgrade Resident Services and is a great place to meet new villagers. And by using amiibo, you can bring specific ones to the campsite to invite them to live in your town. Its also a great way to get more villagers.

How To Use The Amiibo Scanner In Happy Home Paradise
After unlocking the amiibo scanner, it’s time to invite whomever you’d like! At first, you can only invite villagers via amiibo cards from the regular Series 1 to 5, Welcome amiibo series, and amiibo Festival card series. Here’s how to get the amiibo scanner going:
While in uniform, face the amiibo scanner and press A. After being asked whether you’d like to invite a client via amiibo, select “Contact someone”.
After the scanning service has booted up, touch your amiibo to the analog stick on your right Joy-Con controller, or the Nintendo Switch icon in the middle of your official Pro Controller, if you’re using one.
Move through the dialogue and invite your client to talk about their vacation home vision. Just like with regular clients, they’ll tell you what direction they want their home to go in and give you a list of mandatory furniture for you to use.
