Amiibo In Animal Crossing New Horizons

how to use amiibo cards Animal Crossing new leaf

For starters, only Animal Crossing;amiibo is compatible with the game. No Mario’s or Link’s here.;There are two major features that come along with amiibo in;Animal Crossing New Horizons. The first involves Harvey. Harvey is a character that will eventually visit the player’s island. When the player speaks with him, Harvey will invite the player over to his own island. Heading to his island will function as a photoshoot area. Players can customize the rooms with a wide variety of furniture and use the in-game camera to snap some photos. Players can invite their own neighbors onto the island or scan amiibo they have to bring that character along. This is great if the player wants a photo with a specific character, regardless of if the character has shown up on the island or not. It is a nice little distraction for players who wish to document photos with amiibo they hold near and dear to their hearts.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons;is now available on the Nintendo Switch.

On the third day, before going to talk to him one last time, go see Tom Nook to talk to him about infrastructures and to sell land. You will charge 10,000 bells in exchange for the housing kit. Go install the kit he gave you, and invite the Amiibo to come and live with you!

New Leaf – Welcome Amiibo

Single-player, multiplayer

Animal Crossing: New Leaf is a 2012 life simulationvideo game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 3DSconsole. In the game, the human character takes on the role of mayor in a town populated with anthropomorphic animals. As the fourth main title in the Animal Crossing series, it was released in Japan in November 2012, and in North America, Europe and Australia in June 2013.

While retaining gameplay from older titles, Animal Crossing: New Leaf marks a change in the series, as the player now becomes the mayor of the town. With the help of the townsfolk and a secretary it is now the player’s job to make the town a better place to live.

The game received critical acclaim, with many citing the improvements upon prior entries in the series. Although the title was re-released under the Nintendo Selects banner in North America and as Happy Price Selection in Japan, an updated version with Amiibo support was released for free on the Nintendo eShop in November 2016 for owners of the original version. A retail version of the update was released as Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Welcome Amiibo in late 2016.

How To Use Amiibo In Animal Crossing New Horizons

Animal Crossing New Horizons offers ways for players to use amiibo to add new visitors and items to their island. We’ll cover the full list of amiibo and what they do below, but if you have one and don’t want its functionality spoiled, just do the following:

Joel Franey/USgamer, Nintendo

  • Go to the Nook Stop terminal in the Town Hall
  • Select the penultimate option, “Invite a Camper”
  • Hold up the amiibo or amiibo card to the NFC touchpoint on the right thumbstick of your controller when indicated
  • Hold it there until the game registers it
  • Depending on the amiibo, the game will inform you of any changes or rewards that you can now collect.
  • How Do You Scan Amiibo

    There are different ways to use them depending on whether you are playing your game in portable mode or on a TV.

    • Portable mode: If youre playing on the go, hover the figure or map on the right Joy-Con joystick when New Horizons prompts you to use your amiibo.
    • Docked mode: While your Switch is showing up on your TV, you will need a controller that can scan amiibo like the detached Joy-Cons or the Pro Controller. If you are using Joy-Cons, scan the same way you would in portable mode. However, if you are using a Pro controller, scan the figures or cards on the Nintendo logo at the top middle of the controller when the game prompts you to use your amiibo.

    What Rewards Do You Get From Amiibo

    The way the game is altered depends on the amiibo itself, as some have greater use than others. You can find the full list of compatible amiibos, which numbers into the hundreds, over here at the official site.

    The biggest use is that many amiibos can have the corresponding character show up in your Campsite, allowing you then to invite them to live on your island. This doesnt apply to all amiibo though, and special characters such as Isabelle or KK Slider tend to be the exception, sadly. However, you can still invite them to your photoshoots, as mentioned above, and you can also unlock special posters of those characters by scanning them, which will then be available to buy at the Nook Stop shopping section for 1000 bells each.

    To make things easier, weve broken down the various series of Animal Crossing Amiibo below to tell you what theyre collectively capable of and how they change the game. Remember to use the above link to see where you can get these amiibo and what they look like.

    Harv’s Island And The Amiibo Photoshoots

    Animal Crossing: New Leaf Official Welcome Amiibo Trailer ...

    The first way you can utilise your Animal Crossing amiibo collection with New Horizons is through a dog character known as Harvey – or Harv to his friends, of which there are few. You’ll find him loitering around the Resident Services tent in the early days of island life. You’ll recognise him because he’s dressed like a hippy. He tells you that you can visit his island – handily named Harv’s Island – whenever you want. Just head over to the airport and you can ask to visit Harv’s Island.;

    It’s here that you discover Harv’s Island is actually called Photopia, and Harv is actually a photographer and has a photography studio here on the island. Head inside the building and you can use your amiibo and amiibo cards to summon rather strange zombie-like versions of characters to pose for photoshoots.;

    It’s quite limited, but if you want to have a little fun with old favourites, it’s easy to do and travelling to and from Harv’s Island is free – it won’t cost bells or Nook Miles. Plus, from the next calendar day, you’ll unlock a purchasable poster version of anyone you invite to Photopiain in the ‘Special Goods’ section of Nook Shopping from the Nook Stop terminal, which you can then hang on the wall of your home.;

    A Concise Guide To The Different Amiibo Functions In Animal Crossing: New Leaf

    Animal Crossing: New Leaf received a big update that added amiibo support and overhauled a few of the games systems. Theres a bunch of different compatible amiibo that all do different things so it can all be a bit confusing, so the aim of this guide is to serve as a sort of primer to this new feature. Well hopefully have some more detailed videos on the way, but with new amiibo releasing this week I thought itd be best to get something out ASAP to clear up a lot of confusion Ive been seeing.

    Invite Amiibo Characters To Stay At Your Campsite

    After your Campsite opens and your first guest comes to visit you , youll be able to use the Nook Stop at Resident Services to invite campers to your campsite. Even if you can scan an amiibo , this doesnt necessarily mean that the character will show up at your Campsite.

    You cant technically invite NPCs to the Campsite, but they will give you a special message. For example, Isabelle will appear with a message saying she cant go camping and that shes standing right in front of you, silly! Just like with Photopia, some NPCs will not appear and the game will tell you that theyre not available at the moment. These seem likely to be added later.

    Villager amiibo cards also all scan in and will invited the villager to camp at your Campsite. However, based on our tests, we werent able to invite any of the amiibo card villagers to permanently move onto our island, even with plots open for them to move into. While the option to invite them does appear, they all declined, saying they had things to do at home.

    Reports from other players have noted that the villagers will agree to move in after inviting them to the campsite three times, but we havent been able to confirm this yet.

    What Is Photopia

    You can also use some Amiibo and Amiibo cards to bring villagers to a Photo Studio called Photopia. This island exists as an elaborate photobooth for you and the villagers.

    Go to Dodo Airlines, fly to Harvey‘s Island, then go to the room of your choice. Tap amiibo or amiibo cards to make villagers appear from thin air! They’ll follow you from room to room too.

    You can also invite current Residents to the shoot.

    Dress them up as you like then strike a pose.
