Amiibo In Animal Crossing New Horizons
For starters, only Animal Crossing amiibo is compatible with the game. No Marios or Links here. There are two major features that come along with amiibo in Animal Crossing New Horizons. The first involves Harvey. Harvey is a character that will eventually visit the players island. When the player speaks with him, Harvey will invite the player over to his own island. Heading to his island will function as a photoshoot area. Players can customize the rooms with a wide variety of furniture and use the in-game camera to snap some photos. Players can invite their own neighbors onto the island or scan amiibo they have to bring that character along. This is great if the player wants a photo with a specific character, regardless of if the character has shown up on the island or not. It is a nice little distraction for players who wish to document photos with amiibo they hold near and dear to their hearts.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is now available on the Nintendo Switch.
How To Use Amiibo On Animal Crossing New Horizons
To be able to use the Amiibo and make them come to live on your island, you will need camping, we explain how to do this in our guide to unlock the Remodîle.
Once the camping installed, you will have to wait for the first animal to come to visit your island via the campsite, you will be obliged to have it come to live with you , and it is from the day after this visit that you can invite your Amiibo to come and camp.
To do this, use the terminal Nook stop at the residents office and select Invite a Camper. Prepare your card or figure and follow the instructions. The Amiibo card chip is located at the top of the card, where the logo is on the back. The future inhabitant immediately arrived at the campsite.
To do it move to your island, you will have toinvite 3 times, and every day, you have to talk to him enough to ask you about him craft an item and continue talking to him until you can ask him to come and live on your island.
On the third day, before going to talk to him one last time, go see Tom Nook to talk to him about infrastructures and to sell land. You will charge 10,000 bells in exchange for the housing kit. Go install the kit he gave you, and invite the Amiibo to come and live with you!

Animal Crossing: Amiibo And Harv’s Island
Let’s face it many of us Animal Crossing fans made a fairly significant financial investment in Animal Crossing amiibo cards and amiibo figures during the New Leaf days. We then held onto our hoards, hoping they would come in handy once the mythical new Switch game released.
So, now that Animal Crossing: New Horizons has arrived on the scene, are we able to put those tens of amiibo cards and figures to good use?
Yes and in fact, you can do even more with them in New Horizons than in New Leaf. So dust off those multiple Isabelle amiibo on your shelf, because we took the time to scan every single character for you – yes, every one – and we’ll walk you through all of their functionalities, step-by-step.

What Amiibo Do In Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Well be honest amiibo in New Horizons arent that exciting, but they can be useful if you want to accomplish something specific. As mentioned above, theyre useful for two particular purposes inviting new villagers to join your deserted island getaway, and a new screenshot-driven mode called Photopia.
You can recruit new animals to come visit, and potentially move to your island full-time, a little way into the game. Youll need to have set up a camp site, at which point animals can arrive randomly to visit the island as a holiday. If they like it enough, theyll ask you if they can stick around and get a house on the island which is how you can make them a permanent fixture.
Animals appear at random at the camp site, often inside its tent, and Isabelle will announce in the morning when theres a new visitor but you can speed this up by tapping an amiibo of a favorite villager to invite them to come visit the island. At that point, its on you to recruit them to stay.
This also has a knock-on effect on Photopia, a unique island you can visit once you meet Harv, the islands sole resident. Harvey first appeared in the amiibo update to New Leaf, but hell eventually visit your deserted island and then, when spoken to, invite you to visit his island. You can then do this any time free-of-charge from the airport just tell the Dodos you wanna fly to Harvs Island.

Families can talk about consumerism. How much pressure is placed on players to purchase additional add-ons to unlock content in a game? Is it necessary to enjoy the base game?
Talk about interacting with the real world versus the virtual world. Do games featuring outdoor activities encourage players to go outside and play in the same way?

How To Use Amiibo And Amiibo Cards In Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Out of all games with Amiibo functionality included, Animal Crossing has proven itself to be uniquely compatible with the process. After all, building a community with the coolest, most interesting villagers you can manage is the entire point of the game, and if you can expedite that process a smidge using Amiibo and Amiibo cards, then all the better! Heres how to use Amiibo and Amiibo cards in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
There are two ways that Amiibo can be used in Animal Crossing: New Horizons: at the Nook Stop machine in town hall, and at Harvs Island. Using Amiibo at the Nook Stop allows you to invite particular villagers to your islands campsite. Theyll show up the next day, and if you invite them back a few times, youll have the opportunity to ask them to move in permanently, provided you dont already have the maximum number of villagers on your island. On Harvs Island, you can use Amiibo to call up specific villagers to participate in photo shoots, and unlike with the campsite, you dont need to wait a day for this.
Which Amiibo Can I Use With Animal Crossing: New Horizons
There are literally hundreds of amiibo products that are compatible with New Horizons. As of now there are 18 figurines that can be used with New Horizons :
Animal Crossing: New Horizons also supports amiibo cards. There are four series of these collectibles and over 400 cards in total so we aren’t going to list them all out. But rest assured that all of these will work! If you want to see a full list, check out the official Animal Crossing website.
And last, New Horizons supports Animal Crossing: New Leaf Welcome amiibo series cards. These 50 cards were released when amiibo support was added to New Leaf as a way to promote the update.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons supports three different types of Amiibo: Animal Crossing Amiibo figures, Animal Crossing Amiibo series, and Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival.
What Can You Do At Harvey’s Island Villager Photopia
If you’ve played Animal Crossing: New Leaf, you might recall a hippy dog named Harvey as one of the particular villagers. After a few days of playing in New Horizons, this dog will randomly appear on your island. Make sure you talk to him, and he’ll invite you to visit his island home. The awesome thing is that the airport allows you to fly to him for free. No Nook Miles Tickets required.
Instead of foraging for materials, bugs, and fish, Harvey’s island only lets you walk into Harvey’s house. Once inside, you’ll be able to set up a scene in one of his rooms and take pictures with your favorite villagers. That is, as long as you have that villager on your island or have a corresponding amiibo to invite them with. You can place different furniture, change the lighting in the room, and position your favorite Animal Crossing villagers in various locations before taking pictures with them. You can have up to 10 animal villagers in one room at a time.
However, it should be noted that not every amiibo works with New Horizons. So far, the game has warned me that Digby and Resetti can’t be invited to Photopia. This had also been the case for Reese, Cyrus, and Rover up until another update arrived. I’m guessing that any amiibo figures that currently don’t work with New Horizons will be usable once future updates are released.

How To Use Amiibo At Harv’s Island In Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Amiibo aren’t just for big, island-shaping moves! Any time you’re hanging out with Harv, you can use amiibo to bring villagers to Photopia. If you’re planning on putting together a perfect snapshot, having the right subjects in the studio is a must!
When in , you can tap an amiibo at any time to bring in that villager. Certain special characters, like Isabelle and the Able Sisters, can also be summoned this way to include them in Photopia! Note that currently, some who have appeared in New Horizons before may not be scannable in this way.
Photopia has another nifty, amiibo related use. If you have any Animal Crossing Sanrio amiibo cards, by tapping those here you’ll not only be able to screenshot those adorable guests, but also can gain access to their special, Sanrio furniture all at once!
