On top of this, Bob’s identification number is the first in the original Animal Crossing game, and he’s been in many of the game’s early test worlds.

All You Need To Know About Bob In Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Bob is a lazy cat villager in Animal Crossing. He is often considered to be the first villager in the franchise since he has appeared in every title in the series, right from Animal Crossing to New Horizons.

This speculation was later confirmed by the director of the Animal Crossing series, Hisashi Nogami. Bob celebrates his birthday on January 1st.

Bob is a lavender cat who has dark purple patches on his body. He has droopy eyelids covering his black eyes, which goes well to show his lazy personality. He can almost always be seen with a slight smirk. Bob sports a Blossom tee, which makes him look super chill.

Like most other lazy villagers, Bob is straightforward to befriend. He propagates a very laidback lifestyle, where he mostly prioritizes food and relaxing over everything else.

As expected, this lifestyle does not quite agree with that of jock villagers and snooty villagers, so he does not really get along too well with them. However, he gets along just fine with every other personality type in the game. But sometimes, even Bob gets annoyed with other villagers in the game.

How To Invite New Villagers In Animal Crossing New Horizons

Bob commits tax fraud to buy Animal Crossing New Horizons ...

Now that you’ve set aside some land for housing on your island in New Horizons, it’s time to invite some new villagers.

You can choose not to interfere and, if you do so, the plot of land will eventually be brought by a randomly selected villager after a couple of days. You can discover who brought the plot of land by reading the sold sign.

If you’d rather exercise some control over who moves onto your island, then there are three ways, which don’t involve amiibo cards, to invite villagers to your island in New Horizons:

Inviting villagers from Mystery Islands

If you have a free plot of land on your island, then a randomly selected villager will appear on any Mystery Island you visit. They will continue to appear, until this plot is sold and, if you have no land for sale, then every Mystery Island you visit will be uninhabited.

To go on a Mystery Island tour, you must first purchase a Nook Miles Ticket, which costs 2,000 Nook Miles, from the Nook Step in Residential Services. Take this ticket to the airport and you’ll be flown to a randomly selected island, which will contain one villager if you have a plot of land for sale.

If you like the villager inhabiting the Mystery Island, then start talking to them. Eventually you’ll be given the option to encourage or discourage them from moving to your island. If you really don’t want that villager moving to your home at all, then we suggest ignoring them entirely.

Animal Crossing Alligator Tier List

Sadly, the alligators in Animal Crossing: New Horizons arent certain to grab your attention. They mostly fall into the lower ranks of tier lists like ours. Drago is unique in that hes supposed to be a damn dragon which is enough to get him to B-tier on our list. Del has swapped from the pirate life to the join the robot gang. And Gayle has a fondness for pink that few other villagers can rival. The rest arent super noticeable though. Even Alfonso cant be saved by being a Mario reference.

You Only Live Once Or Nine Times

Bob is a lavender cat villager with the Lazy personality who has appeared in every Animal Crossing game to date. His personality makes him friendly and approachable, mostly due to his laidback lifestyle. Like all Lazy villagers in Animal Crossing, he enjoys simple hobbies and aims to relax and live in comfort as much as possible. Bob often gets along well with other villagers, although Jocks and Snooty villagers may not understand his Lazy outlook.

His Lazy personality is also reflected in his character model, with half-closed eyes, a relaxed smile, and a flowery blossom shirt. Bob also has a rather odd catchphrase, which is “pthhhpth.” It’s been speculated that this is meant to be the noise of him coughing up a hairball. In every game, Bob’s house features the full Kiddie Series, including flooring and wallpaper. His favorite album is K.K. Slider’s Neopolitan, which plays on a Kiddie Stereo in his room.

Is Bob Really That Popular

Animal Crossing: 10 Things You Didn

As stated earlier, Bob has a large fan following, which can be easily seen in the sheer number of Bob plush toys and amiibos that are sold annually. The only other character that may possibly rival Bob is Tom Nook. If anything, we just wanna collect all amiibos out there!

Few characters in Animal Crossing have extensive back stories, and unfortunately, Bob is not one of them. The few facts we have on him come from the game development side. His character ID is the first one to come up in the game files, meaning he was likely the first of all Animal Crossing characters created. Outside of that and his catch phrases, we know that his birthday is January 1st but the year is unknown. Bob is quite a mystery and maybe that is one of the reasons he is so intriguing for Animal Crossing fans. That and the fact that he is relatable to so many of us who love to lounge around and snack .

Hey That Furball Looks Familiar

Bob is a central character who has appeared in every game of the Animal Crossing series. You will first find him in the original Animal Crossing game being the lazy cat villager, which he is and always will be. When you first meet him in the original title his first bit of dialogue to the player character is pthhhpth, likely referring to him hissing or coughing up a hairball. However, it is more likely that due to his temperament he is coughing up a hairball. His appearance is mainly that of a spotted, sleepy, lavender cat. He is incredibly friendly and laid back, making it easy to become his friend. You will generally find Bob at various spots in the game either lying down, relaxing or scrounging up food and fishing.

One game where Bob the Cat is somewhat different is in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. In this game, Bob is considered to be hip rather than a lazy villager. He is still very easy going but this distinction is made. Bob is an easygoing kind of guy Bobs Pocket Camp Profile. He also loves to send gifts to his friends in Pocket Camp, such as wood, sparkle stones and pictures of himself to the player character.

How To Find Bob The Cat

Like with most villagers, Bob appears randomly. He may show up on one of the mystery islands you can access using a Nook Ticket, or by occupying your campsite. Unfortunately, there aren’t any actions you can take in-game to increase your chances of finding him.

However, if you enjoy collecting video game paraphernalia and/or have a little extra cash laying around, you can use Bob’s amiibo card to invite him to your campsite. Using the Nook Stop terminal, you can tap Bob’s amiibo card on your right joycon and invite him to your campsite.

Note: This only works for normal-type cards. You won’t be able to do the same with special-type cards, like Tortimer.

In addition to inviting him to your island, Bob’s amiibo card will allow you to invite him to Harv’s island for a photoshoot. You will also receive a poster item of him, which can be placed in your home or sold for 1,000 Bells.

No Such Thing As Rare Villagers

There is no such thing as a “rare” villagers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. However, the probability of encountering them in the mystery island tour and/or them visiting your campsite differs.

Even though there is no such thing as a truly “rare” villager, the probability of encountering each villager on a mystery island is different.

We’ve run a test to figure out the pattern of how new villagers on mystery islands are determined by using 162 Nook Miles Tickets.

What we found out is that all species groups, disregarding the difference in number of villagers belonging to each species, appear at around the same probability.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Player Catches Bob Giving The Nooklings Monumental Shade

Meeting Bob! Moving My Home! – Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Gameplay Part 56

Animal Crossing: New Horizons isn’t always a game where everyone gets along. Sometimes a moment of inexplicable, irrevocable shade happens right before your eyes.

Reddit user rcyx was on hand to witness the assassination of Timmy and Tommy Nook by the smug asshole Bob – in fact, it was sort of their fault. As rcyx explains, they typically refrain from giving gifts to other villagers when they’re in the store because it feels super awkward to not have a gift for everybody when you’re handing them out .

I dont like to give gifts to villagers in the cranny because the nooklings might feel bad. This time Bob even gave them THAT malicious look… from r/AnimalCrossing

This time they went for it anyway, handing over a lovely set of gift-wrapped pumpkins. Bob returned the favor by handing over his much-sought-after photo, and then he gave Timmy and Tommy the most smug, self-satisfied side eye that could ever possibly be rendered by Nintendo Switch’s 256 Maxwell-based CUDA cores.

This may finally replace the Luigi Death Stare from Mario Kart 8 as the most-chilling glance in Nintendo history. Meanwhile, if you’re trying to restore your faith in New Horizons as a warm and welcoming place, check out this player who converted the natural beauty of their island into a giant Ikea store, or another who figured out how to exploit dung beetle labor to create perfect Snowboys. You know what, maybe these aren’t the best examples…

Villagers in Animal Crossing have many unique traits, but they are divided into eight different personality types: cranky, snooty, lazy, normal, sisterly, jock, peppy, and smug. These personality types make these characters very interesting to interact with. It is generally advised that players have at least one villager of each type on their Animal Crossing island.

Villagers in the game are usually always animals, such as sheep, dogs, and goats. Well, Animal Crossing has its very own lazy cat, but no, he’s not Garfield. Meet Bob, the lazy cat, and here’s everything you need to know about him.

How To Become Best Friends With A Villager In Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Although it’s hidden away, there is a friendship mechanic in New Horizons, which will allow you to become best friends with your favourite villagers. You can mark your friendship progress with villagers by the various interactions you will gradually unlock.

These interaction include:

  • Being able to give them gifts
  • A villager will offer to sell you an item
  • A village giving you a nickname
  • Being able to change their catchphrase
  • Being able to change their greeting
  • A villager will approach you to buy an item

You’ll know when you’ve truly become best friends with a villager, because they will give you a framed photo, which you can display in your house. These are not to be confused with the posters you can unlock at , which don’t have frames.

There are a variety of activities that you can do to help you increase your friendship level with a villager, such as:

  • Talking to them every day
  • Ridding them of fleas
  • Selling them any item they offer to buy
  • Gifting them items
  • Giving them a birthday present
  • Giving a villager medicine when they’re sick
  • Completing villager quests

Villager quests are activities that will occur randomly throughout your time playing the game, but are more likely to occur the friendly you’re with a villager. These quests can be anything from catching a specific bug or fish to a treasure hunt. You might also find a lost item on your island that needs returning to its owner.
