Giving You Duplicate Recipes
This is hands-down one of the most irritating things about the game in general, not just in terms of your villagers. Each day, a few villagers will rotate crafting things that you can then learn to craft yourself. They’ll give you the recipe card, even if you already know how to make that item.
There’s usually no prompt to turn down their offer. That card is as good as yours. They can’t be put in storage or given to another villager, so you’ll have to sell them, sometimes prompting the phone call from Timmy for using the box the next day, solely for that card, or toss them in a trash can. Leaving them on the ground for friends to grab later also brings down your island rating. Please, villagers, just keep the duplicate recipes.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons Villagers: How To Get New Ones Getting Them To Leave Amiibo Cards
Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Sooner or later, you get tired of them. It makes sense! They can be annoying. Your island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is defined by your villagers, the weird little misfits who, for whatever reason, have washed up on your shores. Some are fun, some are absolute treasures, some are irritating, some are jerks but you like them anyways. But they are not, crucially, static. If youve been on your island for a little while, you might be wondering how to get some new ones by getting the old ones to leave. Heres what you need to know.
The Basics: In the beginning, you get villagers a few different ways, either by building some special items for their homes or by plunking down a new plot of land from Tom Nook. But theres a limit: you can only have 10 villagers, and once youve reached that point Nook wont give you any new plots.
At that point, you need to get one to leave before getting a new one.
Getting a Villager to Leave:
While Ive seen some theories about whacking them with nets, there isnt much conclusive evidence on the subject. There is one surefire method, but it takes a little while to get it to work.
Do this for long enough, and eventually, youll see them with a dilemma. Theyll be walking around pensively, with a thought bubble above their heads. At this point, you want to talk to them. If everything went according to plan, theyll ask you if you think its a good idea to leave. Nudge them in the right direction.

Villagers And Other Characters
Animal Crossing: New Horizons features many returning villagers and a few new villagers that can move onto your island – either temporarily or to create a home to live in. There are also many returning characters that act as merchants or provide special features.
The complete villager list below incorporates all known villagers and characters that appear in ACNH. These villagers come from multiple types of personalities and different kinds of animals. Each island town can have up to 10 different kinds of villagers who will make their home there, and you will begin your deserted island adventure with two villagers – see the full list of possible starting villagers here.
Villagers can come in several different personality types. They include: Jocks, Uchi , Normal, Peppy, Lazy, Snooty, Cranky, and Smug. Certain types of villagers will always show up on your island – as you will always start the game with a Jock and Uchi villager alongside you.
Unlike other Animal Crossing games, certain villager features are entirely new: The first two villagers on your island will build up their own houses from tents, while the next three villagers must have some of their items furnished before they move in. After this, you will be able to sell plots of land for new villagers to set up a house, or invite them to stay while encountered at a Mystery Island or the Campsite.
When Animal Crossing Villagers Appear On Mystery Islands In Acnh
Many Animal Crossing: New Horizons players go to Mystery Islands searching for Villagers, but Raymond and Marshall might not always be there.
One of Animal Crossing: New Horizons;main attractions is its nearly four hundred different;Villagers available to;move;to players’ islands. With eight different personalities and thirty-five species, there is a perfect neighbor for everyone. However, one of the most difficult parts of the game is finding that perfect;Animal Crossing Villager.;
There are several ways to meet Villagers and encourage them to become a neighbor, but the method players have the most direct control over are Mystery Islands. Once player islands have developed enough, Tom Nook will task players to set up vacant properties that will eventually be filled with one of the many Villagers Animal Crossing: New Horizons has to offer. Those that arent keen on letting random chance take control of their islands roster can purchase a Nook Miles ticket and begin their;Villager hunt. From the moment a vacant plot of land has opened on an island, or a current resident has decided to move out, Mystery Islands will be home to a new Villager.;

Aside from roaming around and talking funny, Villagers do have a penchant towards the arts. In fact,;they produce different kinds of artworks depending on their nature. In New Horizons, some can actually give each other artworks or sell them to the players.
Male Villagers may usually mail residents some pieces of art, while females dont really like sending art to players. In terms of natures, Lazy and Jock Villagers have a tendency to send any kind of art, be it real or fake. Meanwhile, Cranky Villagers can send sculptures, again regardless of authenticity. Selling You Their Junk
Once you reach a high enough friendship level with your villagers, they may offer to sell you their items. Often, it’s not something you need or want and is just kind of random junk like clothing in weird colors and furniture you already own.
For many people, they feel guilty if they turn down the villager’s offer, so they’ll buy it off of them to make them happy. It is usually just a handful of pocket change, anyway. But it’s inconvenient and uncomfortable.

The Rooster: Snooty But Progressive
There is one simple word that completely describes those under the Rooster Zodiac, extravagant. The Rooster loves to be the center of attention and will do whatever it takes to get there. People who fall under this Zodiac tend to be very in tune with pop culture, fashion, and anything related to stardom. Theyre progressive, forward-thinking, and unique individuals who have a lot in common with those of the Snooty Personality type in ACNH.
The only thing different about these wonderful Snooty villagers is that theyre a bit more negative than most other personality types, which is surprising. They insult other villagers and the player character relatively often in the beginning before they open up to them. And, of course, theyre all about those overly expensive items.

Villagers Stop When Players Look
Despite the friendliness of most villagers, a lot of them do have unique personalities that set them apart from one another. One of these common traits would be shyness – where some villagers actually stop what they’re currently doing when they discover the player is looking at them.
For instance, Marina loves singing, and closes her eyes while doing it most of the time. However, she pauses almost immediately when she realizes that the player is within her vicinity. Some players may want to try to;catch these villagers “in the act” so they can enjoy the moment in the same way these villagers do.

|First Time||Cannot reset to choose a different character|
|Second Time & On||Personality types you don’t already have are more likely to appear|
Can’t Choose The First Time
The villager that first visits you when you set up your campsite is fixed because the game will save during the event. You’ll have no choice but to recruit the Smug animal that you get here in order to complete the event.
Personality After The First Time Is Random
After your first time, the personality of animals that visit your campsite will be random. While testing this we noticed that Cranky and Snooty types were particularly common, so we believe that personalities which are not common on your island are more likely to appear here!
Campsite Villagers Are Irregular
After completing the initial event, the arrival of villagers to your campsite is random. We found that a character came about 1-3 times a month. It would take a lot of time to get a specific villager using this method.
