You Can Craft Alongside A Villager

4 Hidden Things You Can Do In Animal Crossing: New Horizons

It’s dangerous to craft alone okay, well maybe it’s not, but it’s certainly more fun to craft alongside one of your adorable villagers. Recently, a player found out that you can actually use the same DIY table that a villager is using at the same time. So, when you visit your villagers’ homes and they happen to be whipping something up at a crafting table, you can make something right alongside them. It really is too cute to handle.;

What Can Vegans Wear In The Game

Being vegan means not only not eating animals but also not wearing them. Avoiding products made with fur, leather, wool, down, or cashmere and opting instead for clothing made with vegan materials like cotton, microfiber, hemp, nylon, and polyester prevents animals from being slaughtered for fashion. In addition, wearing vegan is much better for the environment.

In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you can buy fun animal-friendly items like pleather shorts and pleather sneakers. Even in the fictional world of this game, sentencing animals to a lifetime of suffering before killing and skinning them, just to wear their skin, fur, or feathers, is so not cool!

What To Do On Day 3

Good news: Blathers museum is being built! Bad news: You cant actually donate anything while its under construction, so keep your new discoveries in your house for the time being. Dont worry: The museum will open tomorrow.

Big Goal 1 Finish the Store

If you managed to collect the required resources for the Store, itll be open today. If youre still trying to collect 30 Iron Nuggets, youll undoubtedly hit that number after hitting all of your islands rocks on Day 3. Make sure you deliver the requested haul to Nooks tent, and the Store will be built on the next day.

And dont forget: If youre still hungry for resources, you can buy a Nook Ticket for 2,000 Nook Miles, granting you an island full of goodies.

Big Goal 2 Harvest even more resources

Once you turn in your 30 Iron Nuggets, you can be a little more freewheeling with that resource, which means you can make a few of the higher-end tools you have in your recipe book. This will speed up the process of collecting resources. You can never have enough resources, and youre going to need a boatload of them starting tomorrow.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Dreaming Guide

Wave 2 of New Horizons’ summer update adds dreaming, which allows you to visit copies of other players’ islands. Here’s how it works.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons‘ update 1.4.0 brought with it several new features, including a major online component from Animal Crossing: New Leaf on 3DS–Dream Suite! You can now dream in New Horizons, which means you can visit carbon copies of other players’ islands as well as upload one of your own for other people to visit. This way, you can explore other players’ islands while they’re offline–maybe to get some decorating inspiration, for example–and show off your own island without fear of people trampling your flowers or stealing items.

Below we detail everything you need to know about dreaming in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, including the requirements, what you’re allowed to do in a dream, how to visit a dream island, and how to upload your own island.

Your New Raccoon Landlord

Animal Crossing New Horizons: Best Things to Do at Night

When you wake up, Tom Nook will be outside your tent. He’s ready to give you your NookPhone, and give you your first long-term goal of the game.

Moving to a deserted island isn’t free, it seems, and now you owe Tom Nook about 50,000 bells . Luckily, Tom is considerate enough to let you pay your debt back in miles, like a sort of indentured credit card reward program. As he explains, you’ll earn Nook Miles for performing tasks around the island, like catching fish and bugs, or decorating your house.

You’ll need to earn 5,000 Nook Miles to pay off your first loan. Whenever you perform a task that earns you miles, a phone icon will appear in the top-left corner and start beeping.

Before you do anything, check to see if your mailbox is flashing! If your Switch is connected to the internet, you should receive two presents directly from Nintendo. One is a virtual Nintendo Switch that you can place inside your tent , and the other is a “Simple DIY workbench,” which you can use later to craft tools.

There are a few tasks you can perform to earn miles immediately.

  • Open your Nook Miles app.
  • Talk to both of your neighbors. They might also give you presents for helping set up their tents!
  • Sell 50 weeds.
  • Take a picture with your NookPhone’s camera app.
  • Open your NookPhone’s passport app and edit any aspect of it.
  • Post a message on the bulletin board in the island plaza.
  • Open the “Custom Designs” app and make a new design.
  • Shake a tree and make a piece of furniture fall out .

Looking around online can provide a lot of inspiration for islands. Online communities such as Reddit and Youtube often have users who share their island ideas so if you’re feeling a bit uninspired, you can browse and decide if there’s anything you want to do with your island.

Some players have gotten incredibly creative with their islands and although it can take a little bit of skill, enough people are usually happy to that can jazz up your island.

Build The Island Of Your Dreams

Through crafting and purchasing from the Nook Store and the machine inside of Resident Services, there are tons of ways players can make the island of their dreams. You can remodel entire pieces of the island, you can create bridges to make it more accessible, add pools, chairs, entertainment – even vending machines!;

Players have been making some incredible creations, much like this Hyrule recreation we previously covered, and with the ability to import unique designs from other players, the world really is your cooly decorated oyster.;

Sitting Down In The Art Gallery Gives You A Better View

There’s nothing quite like spending some time in your museum and appreciating everything you’ve collected so far. Happily, there are several places in each part of the museum that will help you get a better view of all of the displays. As you’ll no doubt know, there are plenty of seats dotted around the gallery, and sitting on them will pan the camera up so you can really appreciate all of the beautiful legitimate artworks you got from Redd . I only recently realized there’s also a spot by the railing adjacent to the statues area that will also help you admire your art collection.;

Getting Started On The Island

  • Goals for the Day:
  • Meet up with Tom Nook
  • Find a spot for your tent
  • Gather supplies for the party

As you land on your new deserted island, youll be joined by two other villagers who also signed up for the package. Its worth noting that you will always be joined by one male villager , and one female villager . You can of course reset the game at this point to try getting different starting villagers, but they will always be picked from the jock and uchi pool!

Follow Timmy and Tommy to the main site on the island where Tom Nook has erected a Resident Services tent and makeshift plaza. After giving a small speech, hell request that you and the other villagers find a place to put up your tent.

Pick up your tent from Timmy or Tommy, and then find a nice spot to lay down some roots. Note that while you cant access all of the island past the rivers, you will eventually be able to move your home to other locations on the island. For now, pick a spot that you can see yourself living at for at least a little while.

Before heading back to Tom Nook, be sure to talk to the other two villagers, who are busy deciding a spot for their homes. Youll be able to either agree with the spot theyve chosen, or take charge and place their tents down for them, allowing you to choose exactly where you want them to live in this portion of the island.

So How Do You Actually Play Animal Crossing

Up to four players can play Animal Crossing: New Horizons at one time via Party Play, where one character is the leader who chooses activities for the group , and up to eight players via wireless play .

Players can also visit islands created by other players once theyve built an airport , and invite others to visit theirs as well using a private code players set for their specific island. Innovative players have been using this feature to do things like plan in-game celebrations as replacements for birthday parties that have been canceled due to social distancing. The code helps protect younger players from online predators its difficult for anyone who doesnt have a persons private island code to interact with someone else via the game.

There are additional apps, like the Best Friends app and the Chat Log app, that allow players to chat online, and these apps do allow players to accept invitations from strangers. For anyone worried about online safety, they can use the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app, which can assist in monitoring online play and determining which apps are enabled.

Is Peta Against Animal Crossing: New Horizons

PETA hopes the game will encourage people to feel closer to the animals we share our planet with and inspire them to work to #EndSpeciesismthe misguided belief that humans are superior to all other animal species and that its OK for us to exploit some species in horrible ways for our own trivial purposes.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is fantastical in many ways, but when you look a little closer, you realize that there are even more ways in which its realistic. While other animals dont speak the same language we do, they really do have their own means of communication and individual personalities. By populating your island with animals such as sheep, deer, and rabbits who have strong personalities, Nintendo is reinforcing the important fact that animals are individuals.

Agnes, one of the starting villagers, is a sweet pig and a lovely neighbor. In real life, pigs are just as sweet, gentle, and kind. Mother pigs even sing to their young! But because of speciesism, humans slaughter pigs and eat their flesh, instead of recognizing them as sentient beings who deserve respect.

Another starting villager, Axel, is an elephant who loves to move and work out. Elephants in real life love to roam big open spaces with their familiesbut because of speciesism, humans capture, confine, and abuse them for entertainment. These magnificent animals are forced into a lifetime of misery for cruel rides and circus shows.

Find The Daily Visitor

Each day you should have a visitor on your island. This could be the washed up Gulliver, a seagull who is suspiciously found washed up on the beach, or someone like Saharah, a camel who trades mystery wallpaper, flooring, and rugs. Theres even a ghost who will occasionally appear at night named Wisp! They each offer different services or tasks that usually yield a reward.

There are several D.I.Y. Crafts to be made using Star Fragments. Most of these recipes come from Celeste on her rare visits, so make sure you’re checking around your island often after sunset. If you find Celeste and talk to her, she will likely gift you with a recipe. If you show her one of the special Zodiac Fragments, she will also tell you a story about the Zodiac in question. How To Get The Shovel Pole Vault And Island Designer In Animal Crossing: New Horizons

20 Things Animal Crossing: New Horizons Doesn’t Tell You

If youre a few days into New Horizons and still dont have the shovel and pole vault, youre probably getting pretty frustrated. But dont worry, you didnt miss anything. You just need to go through a few steps first.

You get the shovel and pole vault once Blathers comes to your town. Blathers is an owl who plans to open a natural museum for all the critters that you collect. To entice him to your island, you need to give bugs and fish to Tom Nook. He will then call up the owl and say, its your cousin, Marvin Blathers! Ive got that new museum sound youve been looking for. Once Blathers arrives, talk to him and he will give you recipes to build a flimsy shovel and a flimsy pole vault.

Is It Ok To Catch Bugs In Animal Crossing

From butterflies to wharf roaches, your island is a bustling home for various insects and other little animals. Keep it that way!

Blathers would like to build a museum of fish and insects on your island. Dont let him do it!

Just as fish dont belong in tanks, insects dont belong inside cramped cases in a museum for other villagers to gawk at. Your island should be a place where wild animals are free to live without being captured and exploited. In the real world, animals suffer in captivity at places like SeaWorld and roadside zoos. Theyre deprived of everything thats natural and important to them. In Animal Crossing, you have the choice to let the animals on your island live free from harm, so please, leave them alone!

Flush The Fruit From Your Body By Using The Toilet

The toilet is available for purchase;at the Nooks Cranny, a shop managed by twins Timmy and Tommy. Sometimes, players can get lucky and find the item by shaking a tree.

Using the toilet in Animal Crossing can look realistic, as it flushes after a player sits down on it. Another function of the toilet is to get rid of ingested fruit. The number of fruit eaten will go down to zero once a gamer uses the household item. Although losing the number of fruits does not really have a big impact on the game, it’s still a pretty cool feature.

Should I Build A Doghouse

If you get instructions to build a doghouse, dont! Life at the end of a heavy, short chain is all too real an issue for many dogs in the U.S.

Right now, countless dogs are constrained outdoors in all weather conditions with chains just like the one pictured here, languishing alone and struggling to survive long days and nights without proper shelter from the elements. Often, these lonely dogs are deprived of even the basicssuch as food, water, and veterinary care. Theyre forced to spend their lives in solitary confinement, relegated to the backyard without any companionship, play, or exercise. Dogs are individuals who belong in homesnot on a chain. Please, dont mistreat them on your island.
