What Is The Goal Of Animal Crossing

Bring In Some Fresh Faces

Animal Crossing New Horizons: HOW TO COMPLETE THE GAME (Top 5 Goals and Side Quests)

There are many, many possible villagers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons and they all behave a little differently. With so many options, why settle for annoying or boring neighbors? If they ever start talking about moving out, let them and give a new animal the chance to move in. Sure they might be even more annoying, but they could also be the coolest little dude out there. If the risk isnt tolerable, then trading with other players online is an option too. Stocking the island with only the coolest creatures will likely take some time to do, but then thats kind of the point isnt it?

You Cant Customize Cardboard Boxes Directly

You cant customize a cardboard box to get different designed cardboard box. If you want to get a cardboard box with a different design, your only recourse will be to buy it from Nooks Cranny.

Ask Other Players To Catalog It

If your friend has a cardboard box with a different design, ask him/her to catalog trade it to you. Once its registered in your catalog, you can purchase the same design from Nook Shopping.

What To Do On Day 1

Youll start by picking your campsite location as well as the campsite locations of the other two villagers youve been handed. Pick carefully because you wont be able to change these locations for a while .

Once youve placed everyones tents, Tom Nook will give you some simple objectives . Finish that and head to the party. Feel free to take a nap after this, which is when the real game will start.

Once you wake up, youll be playing in real time . Make sure you speak to all of the villagers, as you may get some free furniture or a recipe for being a friendly neighbor.

Nook will give you the recipes for flimsy tools. Youll want to make a Flimsy Fishing Rod and a Flimsy Bug Net.

Big Goal 1 Donate 5 fish or bugs to Tom Nook for study

Use your fishing rod and net to collect the various bugs and fish youll see on your island. On your first day, youll only need five unique critters. After donating five, Nook will grant you an axe recipe and a watering can recipe. Hell also call his buddy, Blathers the Owl, and tell him to come to the island to open a museum.

Note: If you are playing on a Switch with other people, only the primary account holder can donate things to Nook. To make progress, youll need that primary account holder to finish their five donations.

Decide where you want Blathers Museum to go. Youll want to pick something central as youll be going there quite a bit.

Big Goal 2 Pay off Tom Nook

Big Goal 4 Harvest resources

What To Do On Day 5

If youve been following this guide, Day 5 in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is going to be a bit slow. There are really only two major events to take note of.

Firstly, your Wooden Bridge will be completed. Unfortunately you wont be able to build any more bridges for a little while, but at least thatll make one river crossing easier for now. You can talk to Nook and attend the opening ceremony, but its optional.

Big Goal 1 Meet your new neighbor

The other notable thing on Day 5: Youll have a new inhabitant on your island! Walk over to their newly built house and have a chat. You wont get much out of it, but its always a good idea to introduce yourself.

Big Goal 2 Learn how to customize furniture

Tom Nook will teach you how to customize furniture and other DIY projects via a seminar in his tent. Take his class, and itll open a wide variety of visual customizations for your furniture and tools.

Big Goal 3 Harvest more resources

By this point youre likely drowning in Hardwood, Softwood, and Wood. If you feel like youve got plenty, feel free to skip the day hitting all the trees around your town, if only to save your sanity. That said, its always good to hit all of your rocks for Iron Nuggets, Stones, and more, as these resources can be a bit hard to come by. You may even score a Golden Nugget in the process. If you do, save it for later.

How To Find The Donation Box

Animal Crossing New Horizons

The donation box DIY recipe is available from the Nook Stop ATM in the resident center, under the Redeem Nook Miles section, and its available as soon as you download and install the 2.0 update. The Donation box recipe costs 800 Nook Miles, and is delivered to the player immediately.

After learning the recipe, it costs four wood and four softwood to build. The donation box can be customized with three finishes and three adorning stickers, along with a custom design.

The Save System Really Is A Mess

Im stuck on my Switch Lite. I know Nintendo says it will let us later transfer Animal Crossing: New Horizon to new systems. But thats still not going to fix my problem. I want to play primarily on Switch Lite, and then I want to take my character onto my original Switch and visit my wifes island. But I cant.

If I use my account on that Switch, I have to start a new character that lives on that island and has nothing to do with my Switch Lite character.

This is just my specific problem, but I think other people will encounter a number of other hurdles because of the way Nintendo built New Horizon.

The problem for me is that islands are tied to the device and not to accounts. So even if you can transfer your save to a new system, youre going to have to move the entire island. Thats not going to help people who started playing on a shared system but then each want to continue playing on their own individual Switch consoles.

This also doesnt really ruin the game, but it is going to cause headaches for a lot of people.

Buy The Tool Ring & Pocket Expansion

After paying off your loan, you can use Nook Miles to purchase some other useful things. Two items that you should absolutely prioritize are the Pocket Organization Guide and the Tool Ring.

The Tool Ring allows you to quickly switch between tools instead of equipping them manually from the inventory screen. This is a lifesaver and will probably be one of the best purchases you make in the game. The Pocket Organization Guide is the first of two expansions for your inventory, adding an additional ten slots for items.

Is Animal Crossing Just For Kids

People of all ages are enjoying the escapism this game provides. My 5-year-old, who doesnt fully comprehend the current global health crisis were facing, is happy to talk to a cute raccoon when he cant talk to his kindergarten classmates. And my 36-year-old partner, who definitely comprehends the crisis were enduring, is happy to farm a patch of pixelated land after a 10-hour shift at an Amazon warehouse.

The simplicity of the game itself, coupled with the normalcy it provides via the simplest of actions like collecting different species of fish or decorating a virtual living room has certainly aided in this installments popularity it broke sales records in the U.K. and was the fastest selling Nintendo Switch game in Japan.

Get Inventory And Tool Upgrades

Animal Crossing Pocket Camp Finishing Every Stretch Goal

There are two vital upgrades you can get by spending additional Nook Miles after you pay off your tent. Go to the kiosk in the Resident Services tent after your package is paid off and buy the Better Tools DIY book and the Pocket Organization Guide as soon as theyre available. The former provides recipes for upgrading your tools beyond flimsy, and the latter adds an entire row to your inventory space.

Upgrading The Museum And Paying Off Your Tent

  • Goals for the Day:
  • Claim Nook Miles to pay off your Itemized Bill
  • Upgrade your Tent to a House

By the second day, be sure to check your mailbox for a letter from Mom! Shell send you a random gift that can be anything from a random piece of furniture, clothing, Bells, or even rare fruit that doesnt grow on your island!

Tom Nook will also come out to announce that the airport will also be open for business, allowing you to travel to a friends island, or open your gates to allow people to visit you. This will begin the routine of daily announcements each day you first start up the game, starting at 5AM each day

If youve given at least 5 creatures to Tom Nook, youll now find Blathers operating his museum out of a small tent the next day. He wont be able to fully furnish a museum until you get him 15 more specimens, but hell also accept fossils into the mix.

Even if youre in no rush to explore a giant museum, its still worth talking to Blathers, as hell give you tools to find fossils that will also let you explore a lot more of the island, namely: recipes for a Flimsy Shovel and a Vaulting Pole.

Now you can use the Vaulting Pole to cross rivers and explore other parts of the low elevation on the island, which include many spots where fossils are hiding in the earth.

If youre looking to get 5,000 Miles fast, consider taking on the following tasks:

Invite Blathers And Open The Museum

Animal Crossing fans already know about Blathers, the owl who runs the museum. You start on a deserted island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, so Blathers and his museum arent there. That means new fish, bugs, and fossils cant be donated to it, cutting off one of the most strangely satisfying parts of the game. Fortunately, Tom Nook can take your donations until Blathers shows up. In fact, you need to give him a handful of bugs and fish before he can entice Blathers to appear.

Once you get enough samples and Blathers comes to the island, youll get the recipe for the vaulting pole. It lets you jump across rivers, opening up the island for more exploration. Youll still need to give Blathers plenty more samples before he can finally open a museum instead of working out of a tent, but its worthwhile. When the museum opens, youll finally have a place to show off all the fish and bugs you caught, and fossils you found!

Crafting Is A Great Way To Fill Out Your Schedule

One of the big new additions Nintendo made to Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the crafting system. This enables you to collect materials like wood, stone, clay, iron, weeds, and more to build furniture and tools.

I was worried that this system would replace some of Animal Crossings classic loops. But thats not how it actually works. Instead, crafting is complementary. It fills in a part of the game that was empty instead of replacing something else.

So now youll still spend a lot of your day fishing, catching bugs, talking to villagers, and more. But you will also want to find out what the hot item at the store is that you can craft and sell for twice its normal price.

But now, when the store closes and all the villagers go to sleep, crafting gives you something to do late at night. You can go around the island collecting materials for the next day. Or spend those hours crafting furniture to decorate your home and island.

Crafting is additive and feels like something that was always a part of the series.

A Change Of Goal: What Do You Do In Animal Crossing

Nintendo have pioneered many franchises in the past like Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Star Fox and Pokemon. What do these iconic franchises have in common? These games have had clear goals. A baddie, a hero, one big adventure, simple. Whether its shooting down space creatures or collecting them in Pokéball, its a quick concept to grasp.

With Animal Crossing there is a different sense of freedom and a looser goal. You end up in a small village populated by adorable animals, its cute! Suddenly, you end up roped into doing odd jobs to pay off the landlord. Ultimately paying off debt is the overarching goal, but how and if you get there is down to you. Fish, pull weeds, help your neighbours, decorate and explore.

Animal Crossing breeds such an open concept. According to producer Hisashi Nogami, it was difficult to explain to the promotional staff on how to promote it. Nintendo found it challenging to pen a catchphrase given how each journey could be so different.

Animal Crossing Offers Never

The simulation-style game, developed and published by Nintendo, allows players the chance to create their own versions of paradise on a deserted island inhabited solely by animals. Once their customizable character names their island and establishes a small village within, theyre free to build elaborate homes, tend gardens, fish, throw parties, and converse with their always-kind animal neighbors. The graphics are soft and bright, and the concept of the game is simple if you want to catch bugs, you catch bugs. If you want to dig for buried treasure or interesting fossils, you start digging. It doesnât have an end.

What Kind Of Animals Can You Bring Into Japan

Even-toed ungulates such as cows, pigs, goats, sheep and deer, poultry such as chicken, quail, pheasant, ostrich, helmeted guineafowl, turkey, duck and geese, horse, dogs, rabbits and items derived from honey bees. Dairy products excluding portable items 10kg or less that is not for sales or business use.

A Place To Hang Out With Friends

In addition to anthropomorphic NPCs, including several longstanding series favorites, New Horizons offers several ways to play with your real-world friends. To start, each Nintendo Switch system will have a single island available to all users of that console.

This means that if youre sharing a Switch with your partner, housemates, or children, up to four of you will have a house on the same island. You will all be able to contribute items to the same museum, maintain and beautify the island as a group, and interact with the same residents. The first person on an island becomes the Resident Representative. You can play online with up to seven other friends via Nintendo Switch Online.

The Resident Representative is charged with building much of the major structures and advancements in the game. Only they can build ramps and bridges, customize the flag, and make changes to other core aspects of village life.

But you can still hang out with your friends, even if youre on different systems and different islands. This can be done remotely via Nintendo Switch Online, or locally via local wireless play. Its possible to visit each others islands, socialize with the residents, go fishing together, and more.

At a time when we are being told to stay away from one another, New Horizons offers an opportunity to just hang out and embrace the mundane.

What To Do On Day 8

Animal Crossing New Horizons: Day 2 Walkthrough

If you followed our first week walkthrough to the letter, the Resident Services building should now be upgraded. This is a major addition to your islands arsenal and will unlock a bunch of new features.

Big Goal 1 Upgrade your inventory

Maybe the best part of upgrading your Resident Services building is that youll unlock another inventory upgrade. Head to the ABD machine in the building and purchase the Ultimate Pocket Stuffing recipe for 8,000 Nook Miles. Yeah its pricey, but itll add 10 more slots in your inventory, which is a godsend.

Big Goal 2 Build a Campsite

Upgrading your Resident Services building introduces you to the major goal in New Horizons: Get K.K. Slider to play a concert in your town. Having him visit will unlock terraforming, which lets you change your rivers and mountains, but it will take a lot of work.

The first step is to build a Campsite. Speak to Tom Nook in the Resident Services building. Hell give you the recipe for the Campsite, which requires 15 Softwood, 15 Hardwood, and 15 Wood, as well as 15 Iron Nuggets. Good thing youve been harvesting every day, right?

Place the Campsite wherever you like, but try not to pick a spot thats too remote. Youll want to check in every day to see who is stopping by, so make it convenient.

Big Goal 3 Talk to Mabel in the town square

Big Goal 4 Start building bridges and inclines
