Here’s The Fastest Way To Make Bells Early On
You won’t have all that many opportunities to make Bells early on in Animal Crossing New Horizons. Consider the method below when you’re just starting out.
How To Increase Your Chances Of Catching Fish In Animal Crossing: New Horizons
The basics of catching a fish are pretty simple. Once you have crafted a fishing rod, equip it at the edge of a body of water and cast it out near the outline of a fish. Wait until it starts nibbling, and once it goes under, press the A button to lure it in.
Of course, there are plenty of other things you should be aware of when it comes to fishing:
- All parts of the island – from the ocean shore to rivers, ponds, waterfalls, the mouths of rivers and even higher elevations – will see different fish appear.
- Though you cannot see what fish you are catching before you land it, both the location and the size can help narrow down any you might be looking for.
- Fishing is one of the few interactions you can make when playing with friends in multiplayer without being a Best Friend – and makes for a relaxing social activity even if you are!
- If you’re looking for a specific fish in a small area – say a river cliff top, or river mouth – try scaring other nearby fish away, either by pulling and withdrawing your lure, or running along the water’s edge. The game will only spawn a certain number of fish within a radius, so if you run along the coast, scaring everything away, then come back, you can force a fish to spawn where you first started.
- Once you have unlocked terraforming, you can create your own ponds and greater expanses of river clifftops to increase your chances of those fish spawning there. You cannot edit or add to the pier or river mouth areas however.
Putting On Pyjamas And Getting Into Bed To Save
First off, its almost an existential question; can you truly trust someone who doesnt get into bed before they hit save at night in Animal Crossing? Further still, has that person switched from their daytime clothes to some more suitable nightwear and an eye mask? And here we were thinking that psychopath tests were more in-depth. This behaviour is actually one that most of us have inherited from Stardew Valley where your day only saves once youve crawled into bed covered in mud and sweat from the farm. Regardless, getting into your pit after a quick wand outfit switch feels like a perfect recipe for sweet dreams. Aaand light off. Gnight.;

Don’t Place Your Buildings Too Close To Each Other
Another huge mistake players make is thinking that clustering all the homes next to the community center is a good idea. If you do this, you won’t be able to move around your buildings in your town for a while but you will get more businesses.
If you don’t want your museum being a long walk from your home, then you may want to do some island recon to figure out just how and where you want to place your buildings. You may be surprised just how;limited decorating can be thanks to your closely nestled houses.

How To Unlock The Campground
The Campground is an area you can create that will allow you to receive visiting villagers on your island, where you can then begin to convince them to stay and live in your town – or you can simply talk and trade with them.
To build the Campground, you must have first upgraded the Resident Services Tent into a proper building . Once completed, Tom Nook will have an assignment to increase your towns popularity to catch a certain someones attention. The first step towards this, will be building a Campground.
You will need to build the Campground Construction Kit, which requires 15 of each type of wood, as well as 15 Iron Nuggets, and then place the kit down in an area youd like to designate as a campground.
The next day, a random villager will likely appear in the Campground . Whichever villager, you will have no choice but to invite them into your town. After that, villagers may appear at the Campground at any time, but can also be summoned using Amiibo Cards at the Resident Services Terminal.
Note that when summoning a potential Villager to the Campground, you may have to convince them to join your town by making DIY items for them, and it may take several attempts, requiring you to summon them back each day and talk to them until they think about moving in and agree.
The Museum In Animal Crossing Has A Nighttime Secret Have You Discovered It
Players found a secret which only happens in the museum at night
nimal Crossing fans have discovered a secret event that takes place inside the museum but only at nighttime.
While New Horizons hasn’t been out for very long, it’s absurd this Easter egg hasn’t been spotted sooner given how popular the game has been over lockdown.
As pointed out by Reddit user Missmarymax, inside the museum after sundown, beetles gather on the large tree to take part in what looks like a sort of brawl.
The video above shows the beetles congregating and locking horns, as they have a small fight, observed by other beetles on the large tree.
You can locate the large tree in the left-wing of the museum; simply head up the slope and you’ll spot it.

Give Lollipops To Jack To Get Spooky Items
When youre lucky enough to get some Lollipops back from villagers on your island, head back near Resident Services to find Jack and give him one.
Jack loves Lollipops so much that he offers a few additional Spooky Set items that can only be obtained by giving him Lolipops on Halloween Night!
When you exchange your Lollipops to Jack in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, hell give you the following exclusive Spooky Set items in this order:
Unless you want extra copies of Jackâs Robe and Jackâs Face, you only need to exchange 3 Lollipops to get all of the exclusive items from Jack!
Other Twists On The New Horizons
While the game has a very familiar look, there are so many new details that are exciting about New Horizons. Who knows what could have been added? A lot, apparently.
In addition to crafting, the NookPhone, and multiplayer, some new gameplay elements are being introduced. From the trailer and gameplay demos, we can tell there’s going to be customization options galore. Items no longer have to be placed inside the home; you can set up a nice bonfire and hammock right outside your house.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons also features northern and southern hemispheres, so no matter where you are, your island experiences similar seasons and weather. While seasons are nothing new to Animal Crossing, players can do new activities and things as the weather changes. What’s more exciting about this update is the variety it brings: weeds, plants, and growth changes. There are hidden Easter eggs in spring and mushrooms in fall. Plus, players need to be more aware of when night falls since there’s no telling what they will see under cover of darkness, including some dangerous bugs or scary ghosts.

Complete Nook Mileage+ Activities
One of the things you should definitely do every day is the Nook Mileage+ tasks. Each day, the first five available Mileage Activities will yield double the reward of Nook Miles. Sometimes, one task would have a X5 bonus.
These are limited to five each day, so be sure to complete these activities to make sure you earn Miles at the maximum rate.
Mileage+ Activities reset each day
If you complete a Mileage+ task halfway, and then wait until the next day, the tasks you haven’t finished yet will be replaced. Be sure to complete all Mileage+ tasks on the day they appear you snooze, you lose!
Don’t Try To Game The Random Island System
One of the biggest mistakes that players have already made is trying to game the random island system. While you can save and reset before using your ticket, don’t do it right after you have already reached the island.
Shutting your game off will cause you to lose your Nook ticket, and the game will load you up back at your house. The same goes for if you need to suddenly shut off your Switch. Any items you collect will be lost unless you fly back home.

Hunt For Big Fish And Insects
A big component in;Animal Crossing;games has always been gathering fish, insects, and other creatures that you can pawn or add to the museum, and;NH;is no different. In fact, since you’ll be on a remote island with little civilization, the area will have quite a bit of wildlife crawling and swimming about. You’ll want to take advantage of this money-making pursuit.
Be sure to look out for larger insects, particularly at night, as this is when you’re likely to find more rare varieties. When fishing, you generally want to search along the ocean coastlines rather than rivers, and look out for larger silhouettes. These can be sold to Timmy at pretty high prices more often than not.
What To Do On Day 1
Youll start by picking your campsite location as well as the campsite locations of the other two villagers youve been handed. Pick carefully because you wont be able to change these locations for a while .
Once youve placed everyones tents, Tom Nook will give you some simple objectives . Finish that and head to the party. Feel free to take a nap after this, which is when the real game will start.
Once you wake up, youll be playing in real time . Make sure you speak to all of the villagers, as you may get some free furniture or a recipe for being a friendly neighbor.
Nook will give you the recipes for flimsy tools. Youll want to make a Flimsy Fishing Rod and a Flimsy Bug Net.
Big Goal 1 Donate 5 fish or bugs to Tom Nook for study
Use your fishing rod and net to collect the various bugs and fish youll see on your island. On your first day, youll only need five unique critters. After donating five, Nook will grant you an axe recipe and a watering can recipe. Hell also call his buddy, Blathers the Owl, and tell him to come to the island to open a museum.
Note: If you are playing on a Switch with other people, only the primary account holder can donate things to Nook. To make progress, youll need that primary account holder to finish their five donations.
Decide where you want Blathers Museum to go. Youll want to pick something central as youll be going there quite a bit.

Getting Started On The Island
- Goals for the Day:
- Meet up with Tom Nook
- Find a spot for your tent
- Gather supplies for the party
As you land on your new deserted island, youll be joined by two other villagers who also signed up for the package. Its worth noting that you will always be joined by one male villager , and one female villager . You can of course reset the game at this point to try getting different starting villagers, but they will always be picked from the jock and uchi pool!
Follow Timmy and Tommy to the main site on the island where Tom Nook has erected a Resident Services tent and makeshift plaza. After giving a small speech, hell request that you and the other villagers find a place to put up your tent.
Pick up your tent from Timmy or Tommy, and then find a nice spot to lay down some roots. Note that while you cant access all of the island past the rivers, you will eventually be able to move your home to other locations on the island. For now, pick a spot that you can see yourself living at for at least a little while.
Before heading back to Tom Nook, be sure to talk to the other two villagers, who are busy deciding a spot for their homes. Youll be able to either agree with the spot theyve chosen, or take charge and place their tents down for them, allowing you to choose exactly where you want them to live in this portion of the island.
Plan Out Future Improvements To Your Town
Just because you dont have the tools and items to improve your town the way you want to right now, that doesnt mean you cant start planning out future improvements now.
Want to make a waterfall in the cliff behind your house, earmark it for later. Got ideas for a little outdoor gym for you and all your pals? Go and find the perfect spot for it.
The ability to place furniture and customize the island however you want really does let you put your own take on island life and decorations. Dont let the opportunity pass you by. Get planning now for a perfect island in the future.

How To Unlock The Museum
The Museum is a facility that allows you to donate bugs, fish, and fossils to an expansive exhibit space that players can tour and explore, alone or with friends. Even Villagers may sometimes appear in the Museum to check out the exhibits alongside you.
Before you can have a Museum, you must first find a way to get Blathers to join you on the island. On your first real day on the island, speak to Tom Nook about his DIY Workshop to learn how to craft a Net and Fishing Rod. Next, bring Tom Nook five different bugs and/or fish as you find them. We recommend giving him the five most common bugs or fish that you find.
Once youve given away five critters, Tom Nook will get a call from Blathers, who wishes to join you. Place down a lot for Blathers tent somewhere on the island, and wait for the next day for Blathers to arrive.
Once Blathers is on your island, he will require an additional 15 bugs, fish, or identified fossils to gain a permit to build an actual museum. In the meantime, use the recipes for the Shovel and Vaulting Pole to gain access to fossils, which will appear daily in groups of 3-5 in random spots. Combine these with more unique fish and bugs until you have given 15 specimens to Blathers. Once this is done, he will begin construction on the Museum, which will take one day, and then become fully available to explore.
