Closets And Storage Lockers Are Linked
Closets are a vital piece of furniture to keep in your house because thats where all your stuff should go when you dont need to carry it. However, buying two closets doesnt give you twice as much storage all the storage space in New Leaf is linked, including public lockers. Theres quite a bit of storage space to be had, but its not too hard to fill it up, so mind yourself.
Heres What Amiibo Unlock In Animal Crossing: New Horizons
As of now there are two rewards for scanning your amiibo collection in New Horizons. The most exciting reason to take advantage of the feature is that it allows you to bring new villagers to your island. Youll first have to build a campground, then go through the process of scanning the amiibo at Resident Services. This will send the associated character to your newly built campground.
Of course, that doesnt mean they will stay on your island, but you can at least bring up the proposition. If they like what youve done with the place, they might be inclined to make it their home.
Amiibo can also be used with Photopia a unique feature that lets you take staged photos with different villagers. By scanning in your collection, these characters will be available for use with Photopia. You can give them different props to hold, tell them how to act, and even give them costumes to wear.
Its possible that amiibo outside of the Animal Crossing world will work with this feature, but nothing has been confirmed by Nintendo. If youve built up an extensive amiibo collection over the years be sure to test them all out you never know what youll find.
Animal Crossing: 5 Things From New Leaf We Want To See In New Horizons
It’s been ages since we’ve seen a proper new Animal Crossing title, and here are some things we do and don’t want to see in the new game.
With the upcoming release of an Animal Crossing title for the Nintendo Switch on the *ahem* horizon, it’s a good time to look back at past titles. There is a lot to choose from, but Animal Crossing: New Leaf is the first one that comes to mind for a lot of people.
There are a lot of features in Animal Crossing: New Leaf that it would be genuinely heartbreaking to see left out of the Animal Crossing: New Horizons, but there are also some things that would be better off being forgotten about entirely.

How To Increase Your Chances Of Catching Fish In Animal Crossing: New Horizons
The basics of catching a fish are pretty simple. Once you have crafted a fishing rod, equip it at the edge of a body of water and cast it out near the outline of a fish. Wait until it starts nibbling, and once it goes under, press the A button to lure it in.
Of course, there are plenty of other things you should be aware of when it comes to fishing:
- All parts of the island from the ocean shore to rivers, ponds, waterfalls, the mouths of rivers and even higher elevations will see different fish appear.
- Though you cannot see what fish you are catching before you land it, both the location and the size can help narrow down any you might be looking for.
- Fishing is one of the few interactions you can make when playing with friends in multiplayer without being a Best Friend and makes for a relaxing social activity even if you are!
- If youre looking for a specific fish in a small area say a river cliff top, or river mouth try scaring other nearby fish away, either by pulling and withdrawing your lure, or running along the waters edge. The game will only spawn a certain number of fish within a radius, so if you run along the coast, scaring everything away, then come back, you can force a fish to spawn where you first started.
- Once you have unlocked terraforming, you can create your own ponds and greater expanses of river clifftops to increase your chances of those fish spawning there. You cannot edit or add to the pier or river mouth areas however.
You Can Stack Fruit In Your Menu
Your inventory space is limited, which can make collecting and selling fruit a huge pain in the you-know-what. Thankfully, you can stack identical fruit. In the inventory screen, simply drag and drop the fruit on top of each other to make bushels of up to nine pieces. This cuts down hugely on the tedium of foraging.

Animal Crossing Amiibo Cards What Do They Do
To start using the amiibo cards, you only need to design a couple of houses in Happy Home Designer. Once youve done two, youll be prompted to tap in an amiibo card if youve got any, and that character will then be transported into your clients home.
As the game progresses, amiibo cards will give you more gameplay options than just getting a party started.
The Nooks Homes office will get an amiibo phone, which lets you get new clients by tapping in an amiibo card. If you bag a shiny card , thats for a character that you can only get via amiibo cards.
Non-shiny card character you might find wandering around the Happy Home Designer world, but those shiny ones are card exclusives.
Theres also a cool feature if you have friends playing with amiibo cards, you can share their furniture. Visit a client on a friends game by tapping your amiibo card on their screen. Do it twice, and your character will remember all of their furniture. All you then need to do is use the amiibo phone in your own game to update that characters record and all that remembered furniture when then become available to use.
Its a great way to get new items for your game and encourages socialising with your amiibo cards.

Putting On Pyjamas And Getting Into Bed To Save
First off, its almost an existential question can you truly trust someone who doesnt get into bed before they hit save at night in Animal Crossing? Further still, has that person switched from their daytime clothes to some more suitable nightwear and an eye mask? And here we were thinking that psychopath tests were more in-depth. This behaviour is actually one that most of us have inherited from Stardew Valley where your day only saves once youve crawled into bed covered in mud and sweat from the farm. Regardless, getting into your pit after a quick wand outfit switch feels like a perfect recipe for sweet dreams. Aaand light off. Gnight.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Maple Leaf Guide How To Gather Maple Leaves And Craft Maple Leaf Diy Recipes
Animal Crossing continues to change things up and gives us something to do throughout the year, making it one of the best Nintendo Switch games out there. During a 10-day stretch in November, players find maple leaves falling from the sky. If you collect enough of them, youll be able to craft adorable autumn maple leaf DIY recipes to decorate your island with. Heres everything you need to know about Animal Crossing maple leaf gathering and crafting.
Although leaves fall around your island to represent fall during the Autumn months, you can only collect maple leaves from in the Northern Hemisphere or from if youre playing in the Southern Hemisphere.
Just like with how you collect Cherry Blossom petals in spring, you need to use your bug net to collect a maple leaf. Thing is, only some leaves can be collected. To catch them, run around your island with your bug net in hand. When you see a larger maple leaf than normal flitting around, run up to it and catch it with your net quickly before it disappears.
Don’t: Restrictive Furniture Placement
Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer introduced the ability to place things in half of a tile, making every item significantly more versatile and opening up a whole new world of decoration possibilities. Unfortunately, that wasn’t a part of the Animal Crossing: New Leaf base game or the Welcome Amiibo update.

Your Town Layout Isnt That Important
When starting the game, youll be asked to pick your town layout from some mapped options. The thing is, this layout doesnt have a huge affect on your experience. They all have the standard beaches, rivers, and trees.
On the other hand, having the bridge located more towards the center of your town could prove to be useful as its easier to reach things without having to traverse through your entire town, with butterflies being the prime example. Ultimately, just pick a layout that looks interesting to you. What you do in town is more important than how its designed.

Other Twists On The New Horizons
While the game has a very familiar look, there are so many new details that are exciting about New Horizons. Who knows what could have been added? A lot, apparently.
In addition to crafting, the NookPhone, and multiplayer, some new gameplay elements are being introduced. From the trailer and gameplay demos, we can tell theres going to be customization options galore. Items no longer have to be placed inside the home you can set up a nice bonfire and hammock right outside your house.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons also features northern and southern hemispheres, so no matter where you are, your island experiences similar seasons and weather. While seasons are nothing new to Animal Crossing, players can do new activities and things as the weather changes. Whats more exciting about this update is the variety it brings: weeds, plants, and growth changes. There are hidden Easter eggs in spring and mushrooms in fall. Plus, players need to be more aware of when night falls since theres no telling what they will see under cover of darkness, including some dangerous bugs or scary ghosts.

How To Unlock The Museum
The Museum is a facility that allows you to donate bugs, fish, and fossils to an expansive exhibit space that players can tour and explore, alone or with friends. Even Villagers may sometimes appear in the Museum to check out the exhibits alongside you.
Before you can have a Museum, you must first find a way to get Blathers to join you on the island. On your first real day on the island, speak to Tom Nook about his DIY Workshop to learn how to craft a Net and Fishing Rod. Next, bring Tom Nook five different bugs and/or fish as you find them. We recommend giving him the five most common bugs or fish that you find.
Once youve given away five critters, Tom Nook will get a call from Blathers, who wishes to join you. Place down a lot for Blathers tent somewhere on the island, and wait for the next day for Blathers to arrive.
Once Blathers is on your island, he will require an additional 15 bugs, fish, or identified fossils to gain a permit to build an actual museum. In the meantime, use the recipes for the Shovel and Vaulting Pole to gain access to fossils, which will appear daily in groups of 3-5 in random spots. Combine these with more unique fish and bugs until you have given 15 specimens to Blathers. Once this is done, he will begin construction on the Museum, which will take one day, and then become fully available to explore.
What To Do On Day 1
Youll start by picking your campsite location as well as the campsite locations of the other two villagers youve been handed. Pick carefully because you wont be able to change these locations for a while .
Once youve placed everyones tents, Tom Nook will give you some simple objectives . Finish that and head to the party. Feel free to take a nap after this, which is when the real game will start.
Once you wake up, youll be playing in real time . Make sure you speak to all of the villagers, as you may get some free furniture or a recipe for being a friendly neighbor.
Nook will give you the recipes for flimsy tools. Youll want to make a Flimsy Fishing Rod and a Flimsy Bug Net.
Big Goal 1 Donate 5 fish or bugs to Tom Nook for study
Use your fishing rod and net to collect the various bugs and fish youll see on your island. On your first day, youll only need five unique critters. After donating five, Nook will grant you an axe recipe and a watering can recipe. Hell also call his buddy, Blathers the Owl, and tell him to come to the island to open a museum.
Note: If you are playing on a Switch with other people, only the primary account holder can donate things to Nook. To make progress, youll need that primary account holder to finish their five donations.
Decide where you want Blathers Museum to go. Youll want to pick something central as youll be going there quite a bit.
Big Goal 2 Pay off Tom Nook
Big Goal 4 Harvest resources

Unlocking The Gardening Shop
The special Gardening Shop isn’t open when you first boot up Animal Crossing New Leaf. For it to be open for business, you’ll have to either plant 30 trees, plant 30 flowers, water 30 flowers, or pick 30 weeds. We should mention that if the number of weeds in your town exceeds 50, Lief will close the Gardening Shop until you bring the weeds back under control.

Nintendo Item Fortune Cookies
Some of the most beloved items in Animal Crossing: New Leaf were the iconic Nintendo themed ones from series like Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Pikmin, and much more. By purchasing and eating a fortune cookie from Timmy & Tommys Shop, you could get a randomly chosen Nintendo themed item every day!
i miss all those neat little nintendo items you could get from fortune cookies in new leaf!!!
Honestly, it feels inevitable that these Nintendo themed items will make their way to Animal Crossing: New Horizons eventually its just a matter of time. Hopefully sooner than later!
2021 Update: In the March 2021 Update, the developers did introduce a series of Mario themed items to New Horizons, but arguably the best non-Mario items for Zelda and others are still missing.
Don’t: Villagers That Require Amiibos
Amiibos are a cool concept, but what isn’t so cool is that the Welcome Amiibo update for Animal Crossing: New Leaf introduced several different villagers that could literally only be gotten by using their Amiibo card. The cards were sold in blind packs, so there was no way to guarantee that you’d get what you wanted, and several of them were pretty rare.
It was an expensive way to get your hands on a villager, and, considering that Animal Crossing: New Leaf was already a full-priced game, it just seemed greedy. Hopefully, Animal Crossing: New Horizons won’t follow the same path by requiring Amiibos… Or even go down the same road as Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, which added lootboxes in 2018.
