Chrissy Teigen And Pepper Thai Made Bamboo Shoot Stir
Even Chrissy Teigen can’t resist the adorable fruit-covered islands in Animal Crossing. Unlike most people, Chrissy’s inner chef inspired her to turn an in-game find into an IRL recipe that looks so freakin’ delicious: bamboo shoot stir-fry. In a video shared to her YouTube channel, Chrissy and her mom, Pepper Thai, cooked up a vegetarian stir-fry made with green beans, mushrooms, onions, and a generous amount of bamboo shoots. The spicy ginger-garlic sauce they made to go over it ties the dish together and has me craving a bite more than Luna Stephens craves spaghetti and fish sticks.
Of course, Chrissy also took some time to poke fun at her beloved husband, John Legend, during the video and even did an impression of him playing Catch Phrase! But the cutest part of the video by far is Luna’s surprise appearance during John’s taste test at the end. Watch the full video above to see what Chrissy and Pepper like to chat about while they cook, and read ahead to check out the entire bamboo shoot stir-fry recipe.

For example, if youre playing in the Northern Hemisphere when it is late Spring in May, you may be able to get Mushrooms from a friend playing in the Southern Hemisphere.
The Mushroom crafting materials can also be kept in your house storage or other places just like any other item, so you may be able to trade with players online outside of the season who have stockpiled the resource.

Where Do You Find Mushrooms In Animal Crossing: New Horizons
So, first things first – where do you even find mushrooms in the new Switch game Animal Crossing: New Horizons? Like previous versions of the game, mushrooms in New Horizons are available during mushroom season, which is in November in the Northern hemisphere and in May for the Southern hemisphere.
However, a few things are different in New Horizons regarding mushrooms. Previously, if you played New Leaf, you were required to have a perfect town rating in order to spawn rare mushrooms. In New Horizons, thats not a requirement. In this version of the game, mushrooms are crafting materials that you can use in DIY Recipes and can be found around the island.
More specifically, mushrooms are seasonal crafting materials that you only find during autumn. Other examples of seasonal crafting materials include eggs that you can find during the springtime, a rare summer shell during the summer season, and snowflakes and ornaments during the winter months.

Where To Find Fall Diy Recipes In Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Fall recipes are unlikely to appear in bottles on the shore, though this has not officially been confirmed. They are instead earned by popping floating balloons over the island during the month. Balloons will spawn every few minutes on a player’s island and can be popped using a slingshot. They carry prize boxes often containing seasonal DIY recipes and other goodies.
There are many more fall recipes that do not require Mushrooms but are also only available this month. These include ingredients like Pinecones, Acorns, and Maple Leaves and can help bring the autumn spirit to a player’s home and village.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now on the Nintendo Switch.
How To Get Diy Recipes
The above recipes can be collected in more than one way. You could of course get them in the usual way – via balloon presents. If you see one of those floating by, you best get your slingshot ready! If you manage to hit the balloon and check out what it drops, you could end up with one of the above mushroom-themed DIY recipes.
Alternatively, you could receive recipes from your neighbors, or Isabelle. The latter should have already gifted you with the recipe for the Mushroom Wreath at the beginning of the month to get things going. But if somehow you missed that, you should still be able to get it via one of the other methods mentioned above.

Dig Up Rare Mushrooms
Rare Mushrooms need to be dug up. Youll need to look for a digging prompt on the floor within one tile of a tree. These sometimes have Fossils in when they appear elsewhere on your island. Here though, they might just be Rare Mushrooms.
Only five Mushrooms will spawn on your island each day. If youve dug up five already, stop and wait until the next day to start digging again. This might seem like a time-consuming task, but its very much worth it.

You’ll find around five Mushrooms near Cedar and Hardwood trees each day, nut none will grow near Fruit or Bamboo trees. Your island rating can also influence how many Mushrooms can appear, so if you’re not finding very many, consider making some changes.
How To Collect Mushrooms In Animal Crossing: New Horizons
There are quite a few varieties of mushrooms in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. They are divided into the following categories:
- Elegant mushrooms
- Flat mushrooms
- Rare mushrooms
Mushrooms are generally quite easy to collect, as players simply have to go near them and pull them up. However, mushrooms only spawn near hardwood trees, so make sure you have plenty of them on your Animal Crossing island.
Rare mushrooms, however, pose a slightly more difficult challenge. Since this variety of mushrooms is located underground, they are somewhat more elusive to find. However, they will always be situated near hardwood trees, and can be located by the star symbol that denotes the presence of a fossil. Players can usually harvest about five mushrooms per day.
YouTuber Mayor Mori shared multiple tips and tricks for collecting mushrooms in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

- Thin Mushroom
- Rare Mushroom
- Elegant Mushroom
The Rare Mushroom is the only Mushroom players do not pick from under trees. Instead, they will need to use a shovel to dig the holes that appear near trees to find it. The Rare Mushroom is primarily used to craft Mush Flooring.
Different recipes call for different Mushroom varieties, but all Mushrooms will spawn around trees on a player’s home island and likely on Mystery Tour islands.

Where To Find Each Mushroom
Mushrooms are partial to trees so you’ll find them near wooded areas. The most valuable one is the Rare Mushroom and unlike the others it’s actually hidden underground. If you see a crack in the ground near a tree, like the ones you see when you’re digging for fossils, then it might just yield a Rare Mushroom when you use your shovel.
Where Mushrooms Grow
If players are looking to make their Animal Crossing: New Horizons islands into a cozy autumn paradise, they need to collect as many mushrooms as possible. A limit of five mushrooms can spawn on any island per day, and each will spawn underneath hardwood or cedar trees. They also very rarely can spawn under fruit trees. However, they never spawn on mystery islands that players can fly to with Nook Miles Tickets, so with this strict limit players need a plan to get all five everyday.

How To Get Mushrooms
To find and collect Mushrooms in Animal Crossing: New Horizons naturally, youll need to be playing during the month of May in the Southern Hemisphere or the month of November in the Northern Hemisphere.
There are no specific dates beyond that as you can find Mushrooms throughout the entire month. Maple Leaves are also available for a period of 10 days towards the end of the month and offer a completely separate set of Maple Leaf DIY Crafting recipes.
Five different types of Mushroom items can be found to hunt down during the month and they are found in different locations depending on the type heres a complete list of all Mushrooms below including sell prices:
- Flat Mushroom
Where To Find Thin, Round, Flat, Elegant Mushrooms
You can find Thin, Round, Flat, and Elegant Mushrooms randomly spawned on the ground during the season near both regular trees and cedar trees. Each day at 5AM local time on your island, a fresh new batch should appear around your trees.
The rarest and most valuable of these is the Elegant Mushroom selling for 10,000 Bells each, which is used in the Forest Wall and Mush Wall crafting recipes. You should always pick these up solely for selling purposes, even if you have the crafted items already.

Where To Find More Mushrooms In Animal Crossing: New Horizons
The kind of mushroom players are hunting for will determine where they should go to find more. Most mushrooms will grow around hardwood and pine trees on the island. They won’t typically appear around fruit trees. Players will find up to five around any of their pine and hardwood trees each day in November, with no more than 30 spawning at a time. To get more to grow, players will need to gather the ones that have already spawned.
Because of the way mushrooms spawn, players may want to consider moving any flowers or furniture they have near the base of their trees. Furniture and other items may obstruct a mushroom from growing there, limiting where players might find more.
Elegant mushrooms, flat mushrooms, round mushrooms, and skinny mushrooms can all be found around trees. The last mushroom variety, rare mushrooms, are not as common, as their name implies, and are only found by digging. These spawn less often and may not spawn every day, but there are ways for players to increase their chances. First, having a five-star island will affect how frequently players find rare mushrooms. Second, if players are noticing they are digging up fossils rather than mushrooms, they can game the system a little bit.
Mushrooms are primarily used to craft the Mushroom DIY Set. There are twelve items in the set:
- Forest flooring

How To Get Mushrooms In Animal Crossing New Horizons And What You Can Make With Them
As you probably, the world of Animal Crossing New Horizons changes completely depending on where we are in the northern and southern hemispheres. The course of the seasons alternates: if now we are in the northern hemisphere in spring, in the southern hemisphere they are in autumn. That affects events, the type of fish and critters that come out, and other objects like mushrooms.
That means that all players who live in the southern hemisphere can already find mushrooms around the island. This item grows around trees, although rare shampoos are found buried underground. They leave 5 a day.
In New Horizons, they are just another crafting material. With them, you can create up to twelve recipes that you will find floating in balloons during the season. Mushrooms will only appear on the island during the month of November in the northern hemisphere or May in the southern hemisphere.
