Efficient Selling Between Two Players
This method requires Time Travelling, but is an efficient way of earning bells through Turnip Trading.
One player time travels to a day when Turnip prices are high, while the other time travels to Sunday when Turnip prices are low.
Both players will alternate visiting each other’s islands to maximize the profits from selling Turnips!
The other island’s clock doesn’t affect your Turnips
Even if the in-game clock is different on the Switch of the island you visit, it won’t cause your Turnips to rot.
The state of your Turnips is based on your own island’s clock, so even if you or the other player have Time Traveled before, you can travel to any player’s island without fear.
What Price To Buy And Sell
One of the most important days in all of Animal Crossing is Sunday. Why? Because thats when the Stalk Market salesperson arrives. What is the Stalk Market? If youre asking then youve been missing out on one of the best parts of the series. Formerly sold by Joan, now youll be looking for Daisy Mae who sells white turnips every Sunday anytime before noon local time. And if you havent been taking part in this important event, youll want to starting now. Heres how to buy and sell turnips in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
What Are The Prices For Turnips In Animal Crossing New Horizons
There are not set prices for turnips in Animal Crossing New Horizons.
Once you buy some from Daisy Mae, it is then up to you to sell the turnips for as best a price as possible.
You sell them by visiting the Nooks in the Cranny shop and you should know that prices differ before and following 12:00. This means you have two available slots per day to try to sell for as high a price as possible.
However, you must know in advance that you cannot keep the turnips in your inventory forever as they will eventually spoil.

When Is The Best Time To Sell Turnips In Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Players are noticing that some online are selling turnips for big bells, while others like myself seem to be stuck with a pretty shifty economy. So is there a trick to the madness? Yes, there is! There is a way to make thousands upon thousands of bells by flipping turnips, an in-game item that can only be purchased through the vendor that appears on the island every Sunday. While there is a more specific trick, the most important thing to know is that turnips;do;spoil and dramatically drop in value.;
Do Turnips Rot When You Time Travel
Setting Back the Clock will Rot Turnips
If you Time Travel to try to avoid your Turnips rotting, they will rot automatically.
Even if it’s Saturday afternoon and you can’t get a good price, don’t set the in-game clock back! You’re better off selling at a loss.
Rotten turnips attract ants
Rotten turnips placed on the ground will attract a swarm of ants, which you can then cath using a net!

Time Traveling With Turnips
Its important to be aware of some restrictions on time traveling once youve bought any turnips in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. If you change your system clock backwards in time and load the game at any point while owning turnips, the game will automatically spoil all of your turnips, even if its not the next Sunday yet.
Additionally, with the Version 1.2 update released in April, any time traveling backwards by even a single minute can cause your current turnip prices to be reset resulting in a new pattern. If youre on track for a large spike price or already have one and time travel, it may no longer occur.
Find A Small Low Height Item For Tables
To pull off this glitch and make your way into swimming through the river or colliding into an item, youll need to find a small 1×1 item thats close to flat and typically designed for placing on tables.
Some common furniture items in Animal Crossing: New Horizons matching this description that weve successfully tested with the glitch include the following:
- Unfinished Puzzle
- Turkey Day Table Setting
- Yut Nori
If you discover another working item, please share it in the comments below to help everyone out.

How To Unlock Daisy Mae
Shes cute, adorable, and now part of the family business. Learning from her grandmother Joan, Daisy Mae will be on your island on Sunday to help you grow your bells. Before shell visit, you need the following established on your island:
- Paying off your first loan .
- Completing Timmy and Tommys supply request to build Nooks Cranny.
At this time, players have also reported needing the bridge, the Museum, and three houses built too, but in my current playthrough I have only accomplished one . Given that all these events happen around the same time, it could be a coincidence.
Once youve completed Nooks Cranny, Timmy and Tommy will explain what new services they offer including buying turnips. Also, youll receive a letter in the mail from Daisy Mae announcing her upcoming visits.

How To Get And Catch Ants On Your Island
To catch ants in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you need to follow this step-by-step guide:
This sounds simple, but there are a few extra things to be aware of. Ants will appear on spoiled turnips as a long colony, taking bits of turnip away into an ant hill. If you miss with your net, they will scatter and disappear, but don’t worry! Just leave the spoiled turnip on the ground and return later. Ants will eventually re-appear. Rain may prevent them from showing up, so if it’s raining on your island, just have patience and come back when the weather clears up.

If you’re willing to check every Sunday for a low price, invest a hoard of Bells into a single Turnip purchase, and check all 12 prices in one week.
You’re pretty much guaranteed to make some profit.
Keep in mind that since the profit will probably only yield around 150% of your original investment, the only way to break the bank is to buy a huge number of turnips.

Where To Buy Turnips In Animal Crossing
Players can only purchase turnips from Daisy Mae, a vendor who visits your island every Sunday from 4:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Follow these steps to buy turnips from her:
Locate Daisy Mae. She will wander around your island but is easy to recognize, thanks to the turnips on her head.
Speak to Daisy. Shell ask if you want to buy turnips and tell you the purchase price.
Turnips prices range between 90-110 bells. Generally, youll want to purchase higher quantities when the price is lower to maximize your return.
Select Ill buy some. Daisy sells turnips in stacks of 10. You can only purchase as many as you can carry but can come back for more once you clear space in your inventory.
Enter how many turnips youd like to purchase. You have the choice of entering a number manually or selecting Buy the Max to buy as many turnips as you can afford/carry .
Confirm purchase by selecting Yeah, Ill buy em.
Since Animal Crossing happens in real-time, youll have to wait for an actual Sunday to roll around before you can buy turnips. However, you can adjust your Nintendo Switch system clock to time travel to a different date to skip the waiting period.;
That said, time-traveling is generally frowned upon in the Animal Crossing community because it undercuts the games laidback pace. You may also mess up island events due to Animal Crossings autosave structure, so its best to be patient and avoid time traveling if you can.

Can You Plant Turnips
Sadly, no, you cannot plant turnips in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Instead, you’ll have to store turnips on the ground or in your inventory.

How To Buy Turnips
Daisy Mae‘s turnip prices will be different each Sunday, and can be 92, 97, etc, each. Regardless, you have to buy them in bundles of 10. Buying turnips under 100 bells is usually a good bet. Consider writing down how much you bought them for, or take a screenshot of the price for reference.
You cannot plant turnips, so don’t try to grow more!
When You Should Sell Your Turnips For The Most Money
To state the obvious, you always want to sell your Turnips to Timmy & Tommy for more than you purchased them for from Daisy Mae on Sunday. Its not a bad idea to make a personal note of what price you bought at, so you dont accidentally dip into the negative.
The Turnip Stalk Market strategy ultimately comes down to how much risk you are willing to take if you see a 150 price on Tuesday, do you take it and gain a small profit, or risk holding out for an even greater price later in the week?
Based on information recovered from the games code, the highest sell price that can be reached in Animal Crossing: New Horizons through legitimate play is 660 Bells, although it is exceptionally rare to reach such a high.
On the other hand, the lowest possible sell price can reach a painful single-digit 9 Bells. Of course, these maximum and minimum prices can be adjusted through hacking, but they are the organic limits of turnips.
