Leave Turnips On Other Players’ Islands
This method requires you to change time through system settings. Avoid using this method if you prefer to play without changing the time!!!
Usually, your turnips spoil after 1 week has passed or if you change the time through the system settings. However, if you leave your turnips on another player’s island and change the time to get the best turnip price, your turnips won’t spoil!
Making The Most Of It All: Finding Friends In High Places
Because of how trends can be tracked and virtually follow you into the next week, maximizing your profits means relying on a network of friends, family, or the kindness of strangers online. If you know a few others playing the game, you can help each other make it big by communicating turnip prices and trends and selling your wares on whoevers island is likely to pay out the most.
When trading online with strangers, things get a little more complicated. Networks like the countlessAnimal Crossing Discord channels out there are incredibly busy right now. People are at each others throats when it comes to trading turnips. Youll have a far easier time tracking down someones large spike here, but a very tough time climbing over the crowd to get in and out before the host shuts their gates. Even if youre able to get onto an island to sell, you might find yourself paying a hefty commission fee for the privilege, since players arent in it just for the fun of the game anymore.
In a best-case scenario, you can buy a bag full of turnips for 360,000 Bells on Sunday and sell them at 660 Bells a few days later for 2,460,000, earning yourself a taste profit of around 2 million for doing next to nothing. You can buy a full inventory every week and then upsell it like that for as long as youre able to stock the goods.
An Alternative Option: Try Discord
Reddit is by far my top choice for reducing the stress of turnip selling. If you want to make some extra cash, but you dont want to spend hours queuing for islands every week, Reddit should give you a much simpler experience.
You might even find a few friendly people who will allow you to leave the island and come back with more turnips. This is rare, but its a possibility.
If you have more than one inventory full of turnips, youre better off using Discord.
Check out some of the Discord servers that support turnip selling here.
Unlike Reddit channels and the Turnip Exchange, where you only see a handful of islands, youll find literally hundreds of people posting their turnip prices on Discord. Usually, you can DM a few people, get your codes, and sell anywhere up to 5 lots of turnips within a couple of hours.
Bonus tip: If you find someone on Saturday whos willing to accept multiple trips, and you dont have that many turnips, consider checking the boards again. Some people from overseas might already have Daisy Mae on their islands. That means you can buy more turnips, then go back to your selling island for a bigger bonus.

Turnip Selling Etiquette And What To Do With Rot
If you use any of the strategies above for selling your turnips, please, be courteous.
Too many people taking advantage of nice people willing to open their islands is what could end up ruining the stalk exchange for everyone. Whenever you visit an island to sell:
- Follow the rules: Some people will ask you to sell your turnips within a specific time frame or avoid shopping in other stores while youre on the island. Do as youre told.
- Never share the code: Its not your island. Dont take a Dodo code and share it with everyone you know on animal crossing. Thats bad manners.
- Dont destroy the plants: Yes, youre in a hurry to sell your nips, but the islands flowers dont have to suffer.
- Dont dawdle: Get in, get your money, and get out. Dont spend half an hour talking to Raymond and taking pics.
- Leave a tip: Even if the island owner doesnt ask for it, be generous. Youve just made a few million bells thanks to this person. Show them you appreciate it. Id usually leave about 10% of anything I make for the island owner.
If, for any reason, the advice above doesnt work for you, dont panic.
Even if your turnips go rotten, theyre not useless.
Turnips are excellent for attracting ants and flies when they go bad. Leaving a few on the grass around your home will help you complete your Critterpedia.
Choosing When To Sell
To choose the best time to sell, you have to check the prices whenever they change, and use thatinformation to determine what pattern you have. This section explainshow.
Check Prices Whenever they Change
For the best stalk market results, be sure to check the prices every time they change. They will change each time Re-Tail opens for the day, andagain at noon. If you forget to check, it becomes much more difficultto accurately detect which pattern you have.
Wait for an Increase
Check the Price after the Increase
If you have seen an increasing price, wait for the next price change. If it decreased right after an increase, it means you have the randompattern, so you should sell if the price goes over 110 bells. However, if the price increases two times in a row, you should waitand check the next price.
Check the Price after the Second Increase
If the third increased price is 250 or greater, you should probablysell right away, because it’s probably the large spike pattern. If the third increased price is not that high, you should wait untilthe next price change and sell then, because it’s probably thesmall spike pattern.
If your Prices Never Increase
If the turnip prices haven’t increased by Thursday afternoon, you shouldsell your turnips right away. The latest that an increase can happen isThursday afternoon, so if there haven’t been any increasing pricesby then, it means you have the decreasing pattern and will need tosell at a loss.

Storing And Selling Turnips In Animal Crossing
Those who play the game on Sundays will see a new NPC, specific to Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Daisy Mae runs the “stalk market” after taking over from her grandmother and will appear on players’ islands anywhere from 5 AM to 12 PM. Players can buy turnips in bunches of 10.
now that i remember animal crossing exists and that i own it ill have to remember to buy turnips tomorrow
It’s important to remember the price players pay for turnips as that will determine when it’s a good idea to sell turnips. It is also important to note that turnips do have an expiration date. They’ll last a week before rotting.
Players don’t have to wait a week before selling them to Daisy Mae, though. Turnips can be sold every day of the week, but if it’s not Sunday, they’ll have to be sold at Nook’s Cranny. Tommy, Tom Nook’s son, will tell players about the prices. Prices change twice daily. The price found before noon won’t be the same price afternoon. There will be 12 total prices throughout the week, making it a challenge to really earn a lot of bells.
Storing turnips is a different question. Turnips are plants and, at least in the real world, grow in the ground. However, Animal Crossing turnips can’t be planted. A lot of other item, even bells, can be planted but not turnips. This is likely due to the fact that they do rot after one week.
when can I store turnips in my storage????
When Is The Best Time To Sell Turnips In Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Players are noticing that some online are selling turnips for big bells, while others like myself seem to be stuck with a pretty shifty economy. So is there a trick to the madness? Yes, there is! There is a way to make thousands upon thousands of bells by flipping turnips, an in-game item that can only be purchased through the vendor that appears on the island every Sunday. While there is a more specific trick, the most important thing to know is that turnips do spoil and dramatically drop in value.
How Turnips Work In Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Every Sunday, most players’ minds will turn to Animal Crossing: New Horizons turnips, thanks to the arrival of an NPC called Daisy-Mae. These vegetables aren’t for growing though, as they’re actually the game’s version of a stock market of sorts – aka the stalk market.
On Sundays, you buy turnips for one price, and then you aim to sell them before the next Sunday rolls around – hopefully for a higher price than you paid for them. Each day, the Nook nephews will buy turnips from you at a different price. It’s then a gamble as to when you sell them – and what size profit you make.
Best Price To Sell Turnips
Although you can sell Turnips throughout the week, it’s a good idea to wait until the sell price is at least 50 Bells more than the price you bought them.
While 50 Bells may not sound much, it still gives you a slight profit to cover your initial investment!
If, for example, you bought 9990 Turnips, you’re still getting a 495,000 Bell Profit at a 50-Bell-per-Turnip gain.
Sell Your Turnips Before Sunday
If it’s afternoon on a Saturday, you’ll want to sell your Turnips regardless of price. Any sale is better than your turnips rotting!
The Sell Price can rarely exceed 500 Bells
The sell price of Turnips often goes higher than 500 Bells, though it’s rare and isn’t guaranteed to happen by any means.
It’s better to stick to selling Turnips at a 50 Bells higher than the initial cost as it’s more reliable than waiting for that rare spike in sell price.

How To Store Turnips
After you buy some Turnips from Daisy Mae on Sunday, the next question youll be wondering is what to do with them in the meantime until its selling time. Heres a quick rundown on your options for storing turnips, and what options wont work.
No Turnips in House Storage
Unfortunately, Animal Crossing: New Horizons does not allow you to store Turnips inside of your house storage menu where almost every other item can be stored. This is a pretty big pain, so youll have to find another place to store your Turnips while you wait to see them
Place Turnips Inside House on Tables or Floor
Since you cant place turnips inside your house storage menu, the only way to store them in your home is to simply place them on the floor in a spare room or attempt to fit some on top of tables. Placing items like Turnips directly on the floor in your room can reduce your Happy Room Academy rating unfortunately.
Place Turnips Outdoors on Tables or Ground
If completely destroying the aesthetic of your interior rooms with Turnips doesnt seem appealing, its worth remembering that Animal Crossing: New Horizons brand new feature allowing you to place furniture outside can be very helpful!
Those truly dedicated to turnips might find it worthwhile setting up a section of their island designed to store turnips on a variety of tables. If youre going to litter turnips everywhere, you can at least try and make it look slightly stylish with some nice furniture at the same time!
Identifying Trends: How To Sell Turnips For The Best Price
Selling turnips is more science than art. Theres an element of luck in play, but the advent of internet communications has made it incredibly easy for players to band together to make sense of the seemingly random amounts of green the Nooklings offer for these volatile white vegetables, which change twice a day, before and after noon.
Online apps like Turnip Prophet offer a convenient way to track your turnip trends, so you know exactly when to round up your veggies and cash in, practically eliminating the risk of making a loss on your weeks investment.
Based on past data, its possible to predict the trend your weeks turnip prices will follow. The four known patterns turnip prices adhere to are as follows:
- Small Spike
These are the currently understood patterns, and theyre about as self-explanatory as they come. Small spikes see prices jump to around the 200 Bell mark at some point in the week, whereas a large spike can peak anywhere up to 660 Bells. Decreasing will see the Nooklings offer less and less than the base price as the week goes on, while random is just that random. Youll never make more than 140% profit on a random trend, so its best to sell whenever the Nooklings offer you higher than your purchase price.

Dont Bury Too Much Money
A money tree will always grow the same amount of money: 90,000 in three bags of 30,000. The amount of money that you bury does not affectthe amount that the money tree grows on it. It is always the same. You shouldnt bury 90,000 bells or more, because if a money tree does grow, then you wont be making a profit. You should bury a smaller number than 90,000 so you can try to make a profit.

What To Do With Spoiled Turnips
If you forgot about your turnips, they will spoil after a week has passed, but it’s not a total loss! There’s one good use for spoiled turnips: attracting ants and flies. Ants only appear on rotten turnips, so they can be hard to catch–especially if you’re careful with your stalk investments.
Both ants and flies appear year-round and at any time of day, so all you have to do is drop some rotten turnips and walk around until ants appear. Neither ants nor flies sell for a lot, but you’ll need them to complete your Critterpedia and museum. Once you’ve caught the ant and/or fly, you can toss the spoiled turnips in any garbage bin furniture item.

Turnips And Time Travel
If you play the game, then save and quit, and turn the 3DS clock back and play the game with the clock showing the sametime it showed when you played before, the game considers this to be time travel. Doing this will causeall of your turnips to spoil right away.
Daylight Saving Time
You can avoid all time travel problems by making sure that the clock doesn’tsay the same date and time as it did when you were playing earlier. If you need to turn your 3DS clockback because of Daylight Saving Time, be sure to wait until the repeatedtime has passed. For example, if you change your 3DS clock from 1:59AM to 1:00AM, be sure to wait until your clock says 2AM or later before youstart playing again.
Stalk Market And Turnip Prices
You invest in the turnips like stocks so its called the Stalk Market!
Like in Animal Crossings before, these turnips go bad after a week, so after you invest, you have a whole week to sell them. Timmy and Tommy wont buy them on Sunday, so you must sell turnips before the following Sunday on any other day
When you decide to sell is entirely up to you, but keep an eye out for higher rates. Timmy and Tommy will sometimes offer fewer Bells than you paid for your turnips. Try to avoid this at all costs.
Turnip rates are usually at their highest on Tuesday, so try at least check then! Theyre not guaranteed to sell highest then, though. We once saw turnips going for 445 Bells on a Wednesday afternoon.

How Animal Crossing: New Horizons Turnips Storage Works
There’s a bit of a weird issue with Animal Crossing: New Horizons turnips storage, in that you can’t, in fact, really store them anywhere. You’re not able to whack them in your home storage whatsoever, but you can just drop them on the floor in your home – or around your home / rest of the island.
We assume that this is to prevent you from forgetting the turnips you bought just days previously, but doesn’t become a bit of an inconvenience – especially if you don’t want to waste a precious pocket slot for turnips.
And if you’re wondering whether you can plant turnips in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, that’s also a negative. You cheeky things you.
It’s worth noting that turnips place around your island will be seen by Isabelle – and therefore the island rating system – as trash, so you will be unable to achieve / maintain a 5-star rating with turnips lying around.
Selling Turnips: When Should You Sell
Starting each Monday, Timmy and Tommy will start buying turnips from you the only day they don’t buy turnips is Sunday. Generally, anything above 200 bells per turnip is a decent price, but in a good week you can see prices in the 300s and 400s and in rare cases even up to the 600s. Conversely, in a bad week you might have to sell your turnips for only slightly more than you paid for them or even at a loss.
Timmy and Tommy change their prices twice daily, once when Nook’s Cranny opens in the morning and again at noon. This is where things get a little complicated: There are a few general patterns their prices will follow throughout the week, so it’s important to ask them for their prices twice every day to get a sense of what pattern you have. You can look at the main patterns to watch out for below.
