Animal Crossing: New Horizons Happy Home Paradise Release Time
While we do have a pretty solid understanding of when the Version 2.0 Update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons is likely to release, the paid expansion Happy Home Paradise DLC is potentially a bit more complicated.
Typically, most games on the Nintendo eShop that have a pre-order and pre-load option like Animal Crossing: Happy Home Paradise are released at Midnight ET for North America and Midnight local time in European countries. However, its possible this doesnt happen since Happy Home Paradise is technically a DLC, not a new game release.
Plus, given how intertwined the Version 2.0 Update and Animal Crossing: Happy Home Paradise are to each other, we cant help but wonder whether Nintendo might make an exception to normal procedure here by unlocking the DLC whenever the Version 2.0 Update is released.
In conclusion we really dont know exactly what to expect for Happy Home Paradises release time, but well be sure to update this article as soon as any further information is released.

Animal Crossing: Wild World
Animal Crossing sold relatively well, but the series skyrocketed after the 2005 release of the Nintendo DS sequel. While overall gameplay was mostly the same, players could now use Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection to travel to and interact with the villages of their friends. Additionally, the game utilized the unique dual-screened layout of the DS to allow new levels of interaction and customization with the touch screen and stylus.
Animal Crossing: Wild World was also the first game in the series to switch from a flat, grid-based world to one that was curved and continuous. Unlike the previous entry where all individual players lived in separate houses, all players in Wild World shared one house.

Animal Crossing: City Folk
After the massive success of the handheld Wild World, Nintendo tried to match that triumph on home consoles by bringing the series to the Wii in 2008. The major new addition to this iteration was the inclusion of the city, an area to which players could travel for the purposes of changing their villager’s hairstyles, buying new clothes and attending events such as auctions and shows.
Another new feature was the ability to receive new content through WiiConnect24. These two features, combined with a cleaner graphical look and intuitive Wii Remote controls, were not enough to make the game feel particularly different from its immediate predecessor. Critics responded accordingly, making it the lowest-scoring game in the mainline series. Fans of the series were equally apathetic to its release, as demonstrated by the sales for City Life dropping to nearly a third of those of Wild World.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Update 201 Patch Notes
A week after Nintendo rolled out its final major update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons – including the Happy Home Paradise DLC, it’s now released version 2.0.1.
This particular update focuses on fixes. There are a lot of fixes for the main game as well as the new DLC. Here are the full patch notes, courtesy of Nintendo’s official support page:
The Garden Path Looks Like A Hand
The Garden Path is a new indie life-sim with a gorgeous hand-drawn aesthetic coming in 2021.
In development at carrotcake, The Garden Path looks like Animal Crossing but with an isometric perspective and more subdued art style. Its world runs in real time complete with the changing seasons, its inhabited by various animals with unique personalities and stories, and your goal is basically to hang out, fish, tend to your garden, and meet new friends.
Charming inhabitants will come and go, from Bunk, the tea-brewing macaque to Larto, a Greenlandic Musk Ox with a penchant for song-fish. You may even find some visitors willing to make their home alongside your own! reads The Garden Paths Steam product page.
There are quite a few life sims out there right now, with Animal Crossing: New Horizons extremely well-timed release early last year reinvigorating interest in the genre. But The Garden Paths appeal seems to be that it focuses solely on letting you step away and catch a breath from the breakneck pace of the real world these days. It almost sounds meditative, even. No scary bunnies on Easter, no ruthless turnip market to keep up with, just soothing sounds and sights to live in, if and when you please.
The garden is calm and still. A tender world of familiar sights and sounds, melody, and friendly faces. A space to call your own, to curate, and to reflect, says carrotcake.
What Do We Know About The Animal Crossing: New Horizons Update
Nintendo has confirmed that a beloved area called The Roost will be coming to the game in the November 2021 update. It will be in the museum, to the left of the art gallery.
Fans of the earlier entries in the Animal Crossing franchise will know that The Roost is a coffee shop overseen by a bird barista named Brewster, who is also joining New Horizons in this update!
Though we knew this was coming, that wasnt all that was announced. As a summary of some of the highlights , read on:
- A bunch of returning characters, including Tortimer, Katrina and Harriet are back.
- The ability to place permanent ladders is now possible.
- Users can now place storage and ATMs outside no more wasting time going in and out of buildings.
- The amount of bridges and inclines you can have has increased from eight to 10.
- You can now uncover gyroids through digging. They are also customisable.
- You can also cook, grow vegetables and collect recipes.
- New furniture and customisable options.
That really wasnt all. Perhaps the biggest update was the arrival of a paid DLC, called Happy Home Paradise, which will cost $24.99
This significant update means users can go to work and set about creating paradise homes for animal residents.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ Version 20 Will Be The Game’s Final Major Free Update
Nintendo has confirmed that the game’s upcoming Version 2.0 update, arriving on 5th November, will be the game’s final major free content update.
As you might expect from that ‘Version 2’ name, plenty of new content is arriving in this final bump. There was almost too much to mention, but here’s a rundown of the key additions:
Brewster Will Open a Café: Something new is coming to a corner of the museum. The quiet proprietor Brewster will open the Roost after you fulfill a certain favor for museum director Blathers. The Roost is a new location to take a relaxing break in and enjoy some hand-selected coffee. You may run into some island residents here, too. If you use the amiibo phone inside the café, you can invite other characters to join you by using compatible amiibo cards. If youd like, you can even invite friends*** to your island and bring them to the Roost to enjoy relaxing cups of joe together.
Take a Boat Tour With Kappn: Kappn hangs out at the pier and will take you to one of the remote islands on his boat. The sea shanty he serenades you with along the way is also part of the fun! You may arrive at islands with mysterious flora thats never been seen before, or islands with different seasons and times of day. What kind of mysteries await?
Unearth Gyroids: So far, fossils could be dug up from the ground, and now you can also find gyroids. Each gyroid plays unique sounds. You can even customize them to match their surroundings when you place them!

Animal Crossing: A Brief History Of Nintendo’s Beloved Life Sim
With Animal Crossing: New Horizons finally releasing this month, let’s take a look back at the other games in gaming’s most wholesome franchise.
Animal Crossing, the adorable life-with-talking-animals simulator, is Nintendo’s tenth best-selling franchise. Animal Crossing: New Horizons will be the franchise’s first main series release since 2012, and it promises even more adorable, wholesome fun and customization options than every before.
With excitement for the series at a fever pitch, now is a better time than ever to look at the history of the nearly 20 year old series and see how it all leads to this month’s island getaway.
What Happened To Animal Crossing: New Horizons
With over 32 million copies sold, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the first Animal Crossing game for many, bringing the series out on a mainstream scale for millions of people. This success, however, is a double-edged sword, which means that the somewhat lackadaisical update pace is now coming under fire from people who want more Animal Crossing: New Horizons content.
Of course, this is ignoring the proverbial elephant in the room: COVID-19. NH released on March 20, 2020, the week that the entire world shut down, that would certainly slow down the update pace of any game, especially when considering that 2-3 years of content has likely been delayed.
With Animal Crossing focusing on different seasons when it comes to updates its hard to imagine that its been easy to keep up the four major updates a year schedule and release fun, exciting, and long-lasting content. Youd think it should be better 1.5 years after COVID first hit us, but considering how long working from home, this is a problem that will continue to be felt in the gaming industry years down the line. This isnt what we hoped or wanted, but this should also be expected as the gaming industry tries to righten itself again.
