How To Unlock The Roost Cafe And Find Brewster In Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Here’s where to find Brewster in order to get the new coffee shop open at your island’s museum.
We initially thought Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ next update would center solely around the return of The Roost, the cafe seen in previous games in the series. Instead, the 2.0 update is bursting at the seams with new additions, but The Roost is nonetheless one of the key aspects of it. This coffee shop won’t automatically be added to your island after installing the new update, however, and getting it set up will involve seeking out Brewster, who will manage the new cafe location once it’s open. Here’s where to find Brewster and how to get the ball rolling on The Roost.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons Dlc
Here’s how to join the Paradise Planning committee and design dream vacation homes.
The Happy Home Paradise DLC for Animal Crossing: New Horizons lets you take on jobs designing dream vacation homes.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ big 2.0 update is now live, and alongside the patch, Nintendo has released a paid DLC expansion for the game called Happy Home Paradise. Much like the Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer game for the Nintendo 3DS, this expansion is all about designing dream vacation homes and other facilities for various characters. Here’s a rundown on the DLC’s price and how to access it.
Should I Get The Dlc Or The Expansion Pack
Keep in mind, players who get the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Happy Home Paradise DLC by itself will be able to play it whenever they want.
While those who pick the Online Expansion Pack can only play it for as long as their subscription lasts. You won’t be able to play the DLC if you’re not able to renew your subscription once it expires.
The save data for the Happy Home Paradise DLC is stored within the console. So, it’s definitely possible to continue playing where you stopped after getting a subscription to the expansion pack again or getting DLC itself!

Play With The New Horizons Joycons
Those who nabbed the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Switch before it sold out, congrats. Once you’ve cleared the main tutorial, check your mailbox just outside your tent. Voila – there’s one ACNH Switch with your name on it! This is how I got the special item, which was a nice surprise at the start of the game.
It’s worth noting that the system recognizes not the console itself, but specifically the Pastel Blue and Pastel Green JoyCons. So, if you’re one of the lucky souls who snagged the JoyCons on their own, congrats! Just pop them onto your console, boot up your game, and you’re good to go.
However, if not, good luck out there. The JoyCons are sold out almost everywhere, at the time of this writing, and the aftermarket prices are marked up to high heck. We’ve seen sets listed for well over $199.99 USD, which is significantly over the suggested MSRB of $79.99. However, US prices don’t totally apply here – the JoyCons are actually Japan-exclusive, so you’ll have to import them.
Complicating things further, however, is the global pandemic of COVID-19. As per Nintendo Soup, the JoyCons are facing production delays due to the outbreak, with no real ETA on when they’ll be in stock. That means that most people hoping to get their hands on the JoyCons right now will be out of luck.

Where To Find Brewster
Whereas you’re alerted to some of the other new additions in this update by Isabelle, such as ordinances, there’s no mention of The Roost. To get started, head to the museum, where The Roost will eventually be located, and talk to Blathers. He’ll say he has been thinking about opening a cafe but that doing so will require the presence of Brewster, the pigeon who has operated The Roost in the past. Blathers mentions gyroids–another returning element added in this update–and how Brewster is a big enthusiast of them. He gives you a photo of Brewster and tasks you with tracking him down.
This leads you to yet another aspect of previous Animal Crossing games that’s now been brought to New Horizons: island boat tours with Kapp’n. Head to the dock on your beach and you’ll find Kapp’n hanging out on his boat. Talk to him to learn about how he can take you to a mystery island, and then pay him 1,000 Nook Miles to make the trip. Note that you can only make one of these trips with Kapp’n per day.
Kapp’n will treat you to a sea shanty on the way , and when you arrive, you can navigate the island just as with airport tours. Wander around and you should find Brewster right away–in our testing, he always shows up during this first island trip.

Buy It From The Nook Stop
The limited edition console will pop up on the Nook Stop’s shopping system. From our experience, it might even be one of the first items that pops up for you. As a reminder, this is the terminal in Tom Nook’s shop. You place an order, wait a day, then check your mailbox and grab your loot!
However, it might not be that simple. See, the ACNH Switch is actually quite expensive, clocking at around 35,000 Bells. If you’re just getting your sea, er, island legs, that’s a pretty daunting amount of money! For frame of reference, that’s about a third of your initial mortgage loan from Tom Nook. If this pops up early on at your Nook Stop, it might be best to save those previous Bells. There are more important things for you to spend money on up front.
So, yes, this is how most people will be getting the ACNH Switch. Unless a friend trades it to you, you’ll have to plunk down a chunk of change for it. However, there is another way.

What Are The Limitations Do I Get Anything For Group Stretching Do I Need To Stretch ‘well’
There don’t seem to be any limitations to how often you do the exercise each day in the game, and each time you have the choice of button or motion controls. Of course, if using motion controls you should heed the game’s warnings and carefully manage your exercise to suit your capabilities.
This is also a mode with no form of scoring, it is purely for leisure and to enjoy watching your character exercise with other islanders. Don’t feel any pressure while doing this activity.
You get 150 Nook Miles as a reward for stretching, which can appear in the daily rewards on the Nook Miles app!

However, there are rewards for doing daily stretching for a number of days, which don’t have to be consecutive.

Visit Other Players’ Islands
The airport is also used to visit other people’s Islands. You will need an internet connection and Nintendo Switch Online to so, or be in close proximity to the island owner’s Switch for local connections.
Visit Islands With A Different Hemisphere
Visiting an island with a different hemisphere than yours will change the scenery as the seasons are different. Imagine going to the beach on one island, only to come back to your own and make a snowman!

How To Purchase Animal Crossing Switch Parts Separately
The minute Nintendo announced the gorgeous new Animal Crossing-themed Switch bundle, I knew I wanted it. The bright colored dock features Tom Nook and his kiddos standing on an island while the pastel blue and pastel green Joy-Cons put one in mind of a calm, sunny ocean. What’s more, the backside of the Switch console features embossed icons from the Animal Crossing game.
If you’re like me and thinking there’s no way you can justify purchasing another Nintendo Switch, why not just get the parts you like best? If you order from Japan, you can get the Dock, Switch, or Joy-Cons individually. Kotaku had a great idea for how to get these Japan-only releases. Here’s what they suggest.
Button Controls For Group Stretching
This is the easier option if you don’t want to actively move and exercise, making it more of a light-touch rhythm game. Most of the exercises are done with the left stick, either with directional presses or rotations.
There’s no objective, as such, it’s all about trying to find the rhythm with everyone else humorously, you’ll see some members of the group struggling to keep up.
You do also have to use the ‘A’ and ‘B’ buttons at one point, so be ready!

Game Mechanics And Concepts

The developers made sure to make the game not only welcoming new players but to also retain core concepts from the previous games to keep older fans of the series happy. A crafting system was implemented to allow the player to keep the player from running out of things to do after the in-game stores close. She mentioned how the D.I.Y. crafting system would keep players in theme with the game by interacting and using the natural environment to their advantage. Kyogoku took note of players who began playing Animal Crossing games via mobile apps, such as Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, by implementing the Nook Miles feature which would show the player what kinds of activities and concepts they can achieve by rewarding them to do so. The Nook Miles system also rewards the player for doing common tasks and collecting materials that would sell for cheap to keep the player from only tediously searching out expensive materials. Furniture and clothing accessibility and customization were emphasized for multiplayer so players could show pride in their islands.

Is It Worth Buying A Nintendo Subscription For Animal Crossing
A lot depends on what you plan to do in Animal Crossing. The game is so rich in content that even without visiting your friends you won’t be bored anyway. The ability to sell turnip on other players islands makes it a lot easier, but it is also not necessary to have fun. So, if you don’t have any friends with whom you could play together, then there’s no point in paying the subscription. Also, remember that you can use a seven-day free trial to check the multiplayer features.
However, if you have many fans of Animal Crossing among your friends, then it’s worthwhile to get interested in Nintendo Switch Online Subscription. The subscription cost is still lower than membership options offered by all other consoles. Also, you will be able to benefit from its advantages in other games as well.
