Most Popular Animal Crossing Villagers
With a collection of 391 unique villagers throughout the New Horizons world, including 35 animal species and 8 personality traits, there are a massive range of options when it comes to who you allow to live on your island in Animal Crossing. But which of these characters are sought-after? And which have won ours heart the most? Lets take a look.
Squirrel villager Marshall was far and away the most popular character, trumping the next most popular villager by 81,000 avg. monthly searches. And, while a handful of the most popular villagers are male, 60% of the most sought-after characters are female including Coco and Marina, who each rack up some 150,000+ Google searches every month.
In terms of the most popular animal species within the game, cats were the most popular, followed by deer . Octopus, dogs and ducks were next each accounting for 10% of the top list.
Interestingly, of the different character traits within the game, normal and lazy personalities ranked highest, suggesting that players prefer a laid back vibe when it comes to their island neighbours. Other personalities that made the top 20 include smug, snooty and peppy.
Cephalobot Is One Of Animal Crossing 20’s Best Villagers
Octopus characters are among the rarest and most unique villagers in Animal Crossing, and 2.0s brand new Cephalobot is now one of only three robotic villagers to appear in the game. Unlike Ribbot and Sprocket, who are both jocks despite not technically having muscles, Cephalobot has the smug personality type like fan favorites Raymond and Marshall. Hes polite and gentlemanly, albeit a bit conceited as he will brag about himself frequently, but hes easy to befriend and gets along with other villagers. With his sci-fi-themed house and My Other Home vacation home request, its implied that Cephalobot is also an alien, making him one of the new villagers thats actually out of this world.

Animal Crossing’s Popular Marshal Has A Cute Design & A Nice Home
The inside of Marshal’s Animal Crossing home looks like a cute café. With a table and sofa to lounge on in the corner, a sink, an espresso machine, and a coffee sign tucked in by the window, Marshal’s home is a welcoming place to visit. He also plays the piano, adding to his cool, creative persona, and often seems lost in his own thoughts. For fans of art and coffee shops, Marshal is a coveted selection for an Animal Crossing community.
Marshal is likely beloved for his reliability and easily understandable style, though it appears he won’t beat Raymond the cat in Animal Crossing popularity contests. Players who hope to snag Marshal for their towns and who don’t want to wait for him to randomly appear on a Mystery Island will need to spend more than 800,000 Bells to secure him on Nookazon. While it’s a steep price, it is a fast way to bring the squirrel home and ensure the town will get to enjoy his presence for a while. Animal Crossing: New Horizons villager hunting can take up a lot of time, and snatching popular villagers like Marshal can be a struggle, but his company is well worth the cost for many fans.
Sasha Is One Of The Best New Animal Crossing Villagers
Sasha is another brand new villager introduced to Animal Crossing in the 2.0 update, and fans quickly fell in love with his sweet nature and adorable design. This mint blue rabbit is the only male villager to have the fashion hobby, sporting a cute blue Letter Jacket as his default outfit. His personality type is lazy, giving him a laid-back aura that makes him easy to get along with. Along with Shino, Sashas popularity has soared past even that of the beloved Raymond, earning him a spot on Nookazons most-traded list.

Ione Is One Of The Best New Villagers In Acnh
Between her gorgeous starry tail and astral design, Ione was quick to capture the hearts of stargazers and space fans. Not only does this blue squirrel have an aesthetically-pleasing design and color scheme, but she actually glows in the dark like the star she is.
She enjoys the popularity of other squirrel villagers, but Iones galactic look makes her truly one-of-a-kind despite her normal personality type. Currently, shes second to Shino on Nookazon with a trade cost of around 10 million Bells.

How To Get Your First Three New Villagers In Animal Crossing: New Horizons
In previous Animal Crossing games, villagers would simply move into your town and set up a house. New Horizons, however, has changed this system to make it more in keeping with the deserted island theme of the game.
When you first arrive on your island, you’ll be accompanied by two villagers and, as you slowly progress through the game, you’ll be able to invite more villagers to your island.
The maximum number of villagers you can have living on your island is 10.
The first time you’ll be able to invite new villagers to your island will be after Nook’s Cranny opens. Tom Nook will give you three housing kits to place around the island.
Once you’ve decided where to place these kits, you’ll next have to build three pieces of interior furniture and three pieces of exterior furniture for the villager whose house this will be.
After crafting this furniture, your new villagers will settle on your island one day after the other. This means that if you build all the furniture in one day, then it will take three days for each villager to arrive.
This is the only time you’re required to build furniture to make villagers move to your island. Instead, you simply have to set aside a plot of land for them to live on.
How to set aside a plot of land for a villager’s house
Setting aside a plot of land for a new villager will cost you 10,000 bells.
You’ll also be rewarded with some Nook Miles once they move in.

Sadly, the alligators in Animal Crossing: New Horizons arent certain to grab your attention. They mostly fall into the lower ranks of tier lists like ours. Drago is unique in that hes supposed to be a damn dragon which is enough to get him to B-tier on our list. Del has swapped from the pirate life to the join the robot gang. And Gayle has a fondness for pink that few other villagers can rival. The rest arent super noticeable though. Even Alfonso cant be saved by being a Mario reference.
Who Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ Most Common Villagers Are
With over 400 villagers, Animal Crossing: New Horizons makes it rare to encounter the same one multiple times. Some, however, appear more commonly.
In a game with as many characters as Animal Crossing: New Horizons, it can be easy for players to feel like some NPCs are excessively rare. On the other hand, it can also seem like others are far too common. Technically, all Animal Crossing villagers have an equal chance of randomly appearing, but a number of factors make a few types more likely to be on players’ islands.
The release of New Horizons came with a few new villagers, such as Judie, Dom and Audie. Some of these additions have proven to be highly sought after in the Animal Crossing community, but many of its hundreds of returning characters also hold sentimental value to returning fans of the franchise. It’s fairly standard for Animal Crossing players to seek out their favorite villagers to bring to their islands.

How To Remove Villagers And Make Them Leave In Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Maybe you’ve had enough of their personality or maybe you just don’t like their face , either way, at some point a villager you don’t like might move onto your island.
It’s important to note that discussing a resident with Isabelle in Residential Services does not work towards evicting a villager. Instead, this simply allows you to reset a villagers catchphrase or clothing if you no longer like what they’re wearing or saying. Ignoring villagers and hitting them with a net also won’t encourage them to leave.
Getting rid of villagers in New Horizons is a tricky process that mostly revolves around chance and waiting for villagers to decide that they want to leave. We do, however, have a couple tips that will help you control your island’s population.
Look for villagers with thought bubbles above their heads
At some point you’ll find one of your villagers walking around with a puzzled expression on their face and a thought bubble floating above their head.
If you talk to them, there’s a chance they’ll explain that they’re considering moving. During this conversation, you’ll have the chance to encourage them to either leave or stay.
If you tell them to stay, then they’ll continue living on your island as if nothing has ever happened. Telling them to leave, however, will cause them to pack up their house the next day, followed by them leaving their island and creating an empty plot of land.

‘animal Crossing: New Horizons: ‘ Villagers
As per EssentiallySports, one of the primary reasons why the game got traction immediately is due to its non-competitive gameplay.
As such, folks playing it could do so at their own pacing.
Moreover, “Animal Crossing” players could decorate an island, hoard items as much as they can, and even leisurely go on to socialize with the villagers.

Animal Crossing New Horizons Most Popular Villagers
There are lots of reasons why you would want a specific villager on your Animal Crossing island. Perhaps youre trying to make a bird-themed island or a chaotic lazy village. But if youre curious about who are the most popular villagers right now, youve come to the right place. Filled with different species and personalities, here are the top 10 of the most popular villagers on Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
How To Invite New Villagers In Animal Crossing New Horizons
Now that you’ve set aside some land for housing on your island in New Horizons, it’s time to invite some new villagers.
You can choose not to interfere and, if you do so, the plot of land will eventually be brought by a randomly selected villager after a couple of days. You can discover who brought the plot of land by reading the sold sign.
If you’d rather exercise some control over who moves onto your island, then there are three ways, which don’t involve amiibo cards, to invite villagers to your island in New Horizons:
Inviting villagers from Mystery Islands
If you have a free plot of land on your island, then a randomly selected villager will appear on any Mystery Island you visit. They will continue to appear, until this plot is sold and, if you have no land for sale, then every Mystery Island you visit will be uninhabited.
To go on a Mystery Island tour, you must first purchase a Nook Miles Ticket, which costs 2,000 Nook Miles, from the Nook Step in Residential Services. Take this ticket to the airport and you’ll be flown to a randomly selected island, which will contain one villager if you have a plot of land for sale.
If you like the villager inhabiting the Mystery Island, then start talking to them. Eventually you’ll be given the option to encourage or discourage them from moving to your island. If you really don’t want that villager moving to your home at all, then we suggest ignoring them entirely.

Most Popular Animal Crossing: New Horizons Villager
Starting off the list is the octopus villager, Zucker. Based off the popular Japanese snack takoyaki – a fried octopus ball – this lazy villager comes from slightly morbid origins. Still, he’s become a fan favorite since he was introduced in Animal Crossing: New Leaf in 2012. Known for his adorable catchphrase, “bloop,” Zucker is the fifth most searched-for villager by fans.

Most Popular Clothing & Accessories
Clothing and customisation is a big part of Animal Crossings appeal for many players. As weve already established, shopping for new items is one of the games most popular activities, while players can also discover clothing items in hidden locations as they explore the world. But which items of clothing and accessories are the most popular?
It seems Animal Crossing players have a taste for bling, with the Crown and Royal Crown being the most sought-after items in New Horizons. Elsewhere, the Gold Armour suit also proved popular, though this can only be crafted using 8 of the games Gold Nuggets.
Judging by these showy dress-up options, its fair to say that, perhaps, many players arent happy with their role as humble Resident Representatives, but wish to become the ruling monarchs of their own private islands. Well, if you cant give it a go in a video game, then when can you?
Which Animal Crossing Villagers Appear Most Frequently
Every villager has a similar chance of appearing on mystery island tours or in the town’s campsite. However, cats are the most common Animal Crossing species, with 23 feline villagers and other special cat NPCs such as Rover to encounter. Because of this, players might feel like they’re running into more cats than any other type of animal – although players hunting for Raymond might think otherwise, as he’s a highly popular and seemingly difficult-to-obtain Animal Crossing cat.
Villager personalities have some bearing on which characters make an appearance, as well. The game always starts players off with a male Jock villager and a female Uchi villager. This makes the villagers who fall into these categories more common. There are also more Normal New Horizons villagers than any other personality, giving them a large presence in the game. Characters like Jay, Paula and Rhonda are often considered common because of their personality type, as are cats like Tom and Tabby. While it can prove frustrating for players to have to spend so many Nook Miles Tickets just to find their favorite characters, the element of randomness in Animal Crossing: New Horizons helps make the game exciting.
